It’s hard to believe another year is coming to a close. As we wrap up 2025 and head into the holiday season, I want to take a moment to thank you for making it another great year at GECU. Every step forward we have taken as an organization is made possible by your loyalty and trust.
Like in years past, the U.S. economy has experienced its share of ups and downs, and today’s landscape is once again marked by ongoing challenges. While there have been some signs of resiliency, many households are feeling the strain of global trade tensions and inflation. These pressures have raised concerns about affordability, especially when it comes to housing and everyday essentials. We understand these financial pressures can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. Whether you prefer to meet in person at one of our branches, or from the comfort of your home (read on to learn more), we’re here as your financial partner—ready to meet you where you are and help you feel more confident in your financial journey.
Earlier this year, we introduced our Next Gen initiative as a strategic focus on modernization, innovation, and member-centric service. One of the most exciting advancements to come from this initiative is Violet, our virtual assistant. Violet is designed to help you quickly get support, 24/7/365, for commonly asked questions related to our products, services, locations, and
more. We recently expanded Violet to be available across all platforms–including our GECU website, Online Banking, and mobile app. Since launching, she has supported tens of thousands of members with aroundthe-clock assistance, providing fast, accurate answers. Violet’s ever-expanding capabilities and knowledge base continue to make her an increasingly valuable part of our overall member support approach.
An important part of Next Gen is ensuring you can bank your way. Thats why were upgrading Online Banking and our mobile app this fall with customizable dashboards and a more intuitive interface. We also expanded our Virtual Branch service, giving you the ability to schedule appointments from home, at work, or on the go–using your phone or computer, with or without a camera. Whether you’re opening a new account, applying for a loan, or needing personalized support, nearly everything you can do in a branch can now be done virtually (apart from cash deposits and withdrawals). Through these enhancements, we’re combining innovation with the personal service you’ve come to expect. Our goal is to meet you where you are and make banking easier, more convenient, and more reflective of the relationship we share with you.
Weve remained deeply engaged in our community throughout the year. Recently, we donated hundreds of
Since 2021, GECU has supported Beech Acres Parenting Center s Equip-a-Kid campaign. This year, not only did our team members donate 74 backpacks filled with school supplies, but we also sat down with the non-profit to learn more about their mission and impact. school and hygiene items to fill back-to-school backpacks for two incredible organizations: Beech Acres Parenting Center’s Equip-a-Kid program and Hope to Dream (coordinated by St. Vincent de Paul and Morris Furniture Company). The Equip-a-Kid program ensures children start the school year with the tools they need to thrive. Hope to Dream’s primary mission is to provide beds to children in need, but our backpack donation reflects their broader commitment to supporting all aspects of a child’s well-being. We’re proud to support these two initiatives and help children feel cared for, both at home and in the classroom.
Lastly, as a reflection of our dedication to innovation and growth, we were recently honored as an award recipient at the 26th Annual Family and Private Business Awards by the Goering Center. This year’s theme, Enduring Excellence: Embracing Change, Fueling Growth, aligns with our ongoing efforts to better serve our members and community.
With the momentum of our Next Gen initiative and our continued impact in the community, I am excited about what’s ahead in 2026 and how we can continue to serve you. On behalf of the entire GECU team, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year.
