Serving the Community of Geauga County

A Record-Breaking Year for Reading

Last year, Geauga County Public Library reached a significant milestone, circulating over 3 million items for the first time in our history. We're honored to once again be the highest-circulating library for physical items in CLEVNET, a testament to how much our community values and uses the library.

These numbers tell a story about Geauga County: our residents are passionate readers and learners who rely on the library for entertainment, education, and connection. Whether you're discovering your first picture book, diving into the latest bestseller, or researching a topic that fascinates you, you're part of what makes our library thrive.

This achievement also reflects our commitment to building collections that serve everyone. Our shelves hold something for every age, interest, and curiosity, from beloved classics to brand-new releases, from children's favorites to specialized nonfiction.

Join the Read Across America Challenge

This year, we're excited to launch the Read Across America Challenge as we celebrate the nation's 250th anniversary. We invite you to explore books about or from all 50 states and U.S. territories, stories written by local authors, set in distinctive regions, or rooted in unique cultural traditions.

It's a chance to discover new perspectives, learn fascinating histories, and travel the country through the pages of a book. Stop by any branch to pick up your challenge map and start your reading journey across America.

We can't wait to see you at the library and celebrate this year together!

Warm regards,

Geauga County Public

The Geauga County Auditor’s Office, the League of Women Voters of Geauga, and the Geauga County Public Library will host a moderated educational program about property taxes, how they work and how they support services in our community. This program brings together a panel of local leaders, including township elected officials, representatives from local governments, and school officials, to explain how property tax revenue is allocated and used within their organizations. This is the first in a series of three sessions, with the other two to follow in the coming months.

The objectives for this program are to define, describe, and inform:

• What services are provided and how are they funded?

• What service changes could look like if property taxes are abolished?

• What are the other funding options for services if property taxes are abolished?

Attendees can submit questions at the event.
