“ Ya Gotta know where to Go….The FUN Starts Here….” “ make your show or cruise a success” Car Show and Cruise-In Flyers...they are a very important part of the events you either host or want to attend.

To make your show, event or cruise a success and give yourself a chance to compete with other events on the same date and in the same area, make sure you have at least the following info on your flyer ( A Flyer is a MUST in our opinion) or you send this to us:

Here at the Gearhead Gazzette, we see LOT of event flyers over the course of a year. Being we have been doing this for 16 years now and our reach has grown across the USA, we have seen and used a LOT of these flyers…A LOT!!!

Date of event—Type of event (show, cruise, swap or??) - Time event runs—location of event (complete address!) - phone # to call for info especially for weather issues—Cost if any—Event name—type of vehicles welcome at the event—is there a year restriction ( pre-48, post 49, 72 & earlier etc.) - email address to contact you at. In short you need to include the Who, What, Why, Where When and How info if you want the flyer to be helpful.

Because one of the key components of each issue of the magazine are the car show and cruise-in listings, we also get contacted quite a bit about events. When we do get contacted, we answer the questions as best we can, based on the info provided to us.

Based on our experience, there are event flyers that we receive that DO NOT answer a potential participants questions on the event. This makes it hard for gearheads who may want to attend your event, from getting the info on the show.

Remember, put yourself in the place of the participant you are inviting. If you don’t understand everything, neither will the folks you are inviting

We get them with no contact phone numbers on them, no website info, no Facebook info, very poor descriptions of the events and well ...you get the picture

I am looking for a 1967 Camaro (1967 Model Year Only) for a Chevrolet project that will be taking place in downtown Nashville on either October 31st or Nov 1st. This is part of a 50 Years of Camaro Celebration. They would like the artist to be able to drive the 67 Camaro about 100 yards and pull up to the red carpet and get out. Really an easy deal. They prefer something relatively stock or slightly modified, nothing to radical or heavily modified. The owner will be more than welcome to hang out, watch, and be part of the team. Their car will be fully insured and there will be some compensation. Again this is part of a celebration for Chevrolet's 50 years of the Camaro so it should be fun and will give someone with the right car special bragging rights and a chance to showcase their car. Short and to the point: For some insane reason 2 guys at the EPA have decided to change the way they enforce the Clean Air Act. By their new definition, or interpretation, ANY car built on an assembly line can NEVER be used in motorsports. This includes ANY vehicle totaled by insurance companies.

In short, if the car or truck got its start as a road vehicle it can NEVER EVER be re-purposed to be used in racing. Anyone doing so is in violation of federal law.

However, these EPA bright bulbs intend on citing the people who make the high performance parts, not the vehicle owners. Never mind the high-performance aftermarket has been actively cooperating with the feds and states for more than 20 years to keep mobile emissions ins check. Racing slots in at a fractional number when compared to mobile emissions sources.

If you agree with me that this nuts on a scale beyond common sense, please tell your elected officials using this handy quick method developed by SEMA. Took me about 60 seconds.
