I am also thankful for all of you!

Thank you for what you do each day to make our country hum and work. You hang out with us here at the Gearhead Gazzette, whether at our website, on Facebook with us or over on our INSTAGRAM page too. Without all of you, there is no need for any of what we do. You energize us, and we have fun because of you. If this was about making bunches of $$ doing this, it would have ended a long time ago. What we do is because of you and we thank you for that.

Here’s my wishes for all of you to have a joyful and wonderful Thanksgiving Holliday. Hopefully you are getting an extra day or two off work to enjoy more time with your family and friends.

To those of you who have to work, especially all the FIRST RESPONDERS across the USA, thank you for what you do to keep us safe and help us when we get hurt.

To the service men and women serving in the USA and abroad...thank you for keeping us SAFE..FREE and able to enjoy our holiday as we choose. A lot of people take this for granted, but everyday these Americans put their lives on the line for all of us.

I am blessed and thankful that I am able to do this. I am part of THE BEST hobby, sport, genre, passion or whatever you want to call it.

General Motors will auction off the first Chevrolet Corvette Carbon 65 to raise money for veterans.

The money will go toward the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Military Service Initiative. This project helps veterans transition to civilian life in the post 9/11 era. Part of this work involves helping veterans gain meaningful employment.

The first Corvette Carbon 65 to have entered production will go on sale at a BarrettJackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 20, 2018. The vehicle’s steering wheel has been signed by former president Bush.

The Carbon 65 series celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Corvette’s production debut. Only 650 copies are available, and each one has a unique identification number on a badge stuck to the center console. Other upgrades include a new carbonfiber spoiler, unique fender strips and door graphics, carbon-fiber ground effects, black wheels with machined grooves, blue brake calipers, and Carbon Edition sill plates. Inside the cabin, the models feature a black suede-wrapped interior with blue stitching, Competition Sport seats, and a steering wheel with carbon fiber rim.

To get this special model, buyers can opt for the Carbon 65 Edition package on the Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ trims. The package costs $15,000.

Let’s face it...winter time in Nashville TN and the surrounding area, is not what you would call extreme, as say compared to Chicago, Boston, Cheyenne Wyoming or many other northern climates in the USA. Still... for people living in Nashville and the surrounding areas and region, winter in Music City while not brutal, means downtime from the car scene based on the weather conditions. Some days you can still drive your cool ride if you want to.

A lot of gearheads use the colder months to update, improve and possibly change up their rides, while they are in the shop or garage at the house.

Come the 3rd weekend in January, folks are getting itchy to get out and get a fix of some gearhead fun.

For the 26th year, the 2017 NASHVILLE AUTOFEST has been the event that many gearheads go to, to get a scratch for that hot rod itch we all get at some time.

AUTOFEST is a great way to describe this yearly event, that takes place at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville TN. Part car show, part swap meet, a car corral to sell and buy, vendors and a little bit more. AUTOFEST fills up all the buildings on site at the fairgrounds, so you get your exercise in too!

The other thing that AUTOFEST is, a fun event to run into your gearheads friends, catch up on the latest in the car world, and even make some new friends.

Make plans now to be at the 2018 NASHVILLE AUTOFEST. January 2021st is when you will be able to get that gearhead itch scratched in the Music City.
