8 Bishopsgate sits on the Bishopsgate and Leadenhall Street intersection: a key site for the City of London’s Eastern Cluster. The mixed-use development consists of: 47 levels of prime office space, retail units hosted on ground floor, and a public viewing gallery at level 50. It was transitioning between RIBA Stage 4 and 5 and is widely expected to form a key component of the London skyline. My role primarily revolved around production of technical drawings. These were issued for tender to external contractors. My workflow primarily consisted of updating Revit models to export scope drawings from. Construction details drawn in AutoCAD through ongoing discussions with consultants and my personal experiences on-site supported these. Myy abilities in Enscape and Photoshop were essential to efficiently visualise design intent for client meetings. I was also instructed to manage the BIM workflow for our end of the project. This included weekly meetings with the project’s other BIM managers, tidying our Revit model. was also responsible for exchanging our Revit model with the various contractors in the project team to maximise the efficiency of our collaborative workflow and clearly communicate the design liability through BIM.
