Îmi spune Annika Keller. Sunt din Suedia. În cadrul acestui proiect sunt ceea ce se poate numi un fotograf amator-entuziast care aleargă prin jur cu aparatul de fotografiat de când mă ştiu. Probabil, familia şi prietenii m-au perceput de mai multe ori ca o insectă enervantă care zumzăie cu un aparat de fotografiat în jurul lor. Fotografia e hobby-ul meu şi îmi place. De obicei, fac fotografii pentru mine. Nu simt nevoia să-mi arăt pozele altcuiva, deşi, uneori, îmi place să fac asta, fiindcă poza, deseori, emană fericire şi amintiri plăcute. Când Centrul de Informaţii „GENDERDOC-M" mi-a propus să particip la acest proiect, am fost încântată. M-am îndrăgostit de această idee, deşi m-am cam speriat puţin, mai ales de faptul că trebuia să fac fotografii nu doar pentru mine, ci şi pentru alţii, adică alţii să le vadă. În anunţul de căutare a participanţilor şi participantelor la proiect am scris următoarele: „Văd acest proiect ca o oportunitate de a ne distra în timp ce ne deschidem vieţile şi casele noastre altora. Le deschidem de ajuns ca să tragă o privire - ca să vadă că nu suntem atât de diferiţi până la urmă. Sau, totuşi, suntem...;) În ciuda faptului că oamenii vor întrepreta ceea ce urmează să vadă, acest proiect va fi unul distractiv ca proces, iar rezultatul său va fi interesant şi frumos. Sunt convinsă de acest fapt." Acum, având la dispoziţie rezultatul, pot spune că am avut dreptate. M-am distrat mult! Acest proiect mi-a dat şansa să călătoresc prin Republica Moldova: de la centrele de shopping ale Chişinăului până la satele mici, de la parcurile urbane până la bucătăriile mici, de la ziua de naştere a unei mame până la salonul de tatuaje, de la instalator până la apicultor. Şi voi toţi sunteţi oameni iubitori, grijulii, interesanţi şi frumoşi. Voi toţi mi-aţi îmbogăţit viaţa şi umplut inima cu mai multă bucurie. Vreau să vă mulţumesc pentru că mi-aţi dat voie să fiu din nou acea insectă care zumzăie fără ca să vă plângeţi de tot. Vă mulţumesc! Când îl fotografiam pe Callisto, îmbrăcat într-o rochie neagră, pe tocuri, într-un centrul de shopping din Chişinău, o doamnă s-a apropiat să ne salute şi ne felicite pentru faptul că am fost acolo. A spus că tocmai a venit timpul să apară astfel de iniţiative în ţară. Acea femeie din centrul de shopping este reală. Voi sunteţi persoane reale. Noi toţi suntem reali. Şi toţi trăim în Moldova. E minunat, nu-i aşa? Scopul proiectului a fost să aratăm că suntem oriunde şi peste tot. Suntem în orice colţ al Moldovei. Suntem cine suntem şi putem să spunem cu toţii: „Pentru că trăiesc aici, aparţin acestui loc!" Cu stimă, Annika

My name is Annika Keller. I come from Sweden, and I am responsible for holding the camera in this project. I am what you can call an enthusiastic amateur photographer, running around with my camera for as long as I can remember. Perhaps, my family and friends, more than once, thought of me as of an annoying insect buzzing around them with my camera. I love having photography as my hobby. Usually, the pictures I take are for me. There is no need to share them, although I love doing so since a picture often comes along with happiness and good memories. When the GENDERDOC-M Information Centre approached me with the proposal to participate in this project, I was thrilled. I just loved the idea, even though it also scared me a little, especially the fact that this time I was not shooting solely for myself. In the call for the project participants I said: '7 see this as a great opportunity to have fun while we open our lives and homes - just enough to have a glimpse, to show that we are not so different after all. Or maybe we are... ;) Despite the fact that people will interpret what they are going to see, this project will be fun to do, and the result will be both interesting and beautiful, of that I am sure." Now that we have the result I can only say that I was absolutely right. I had so much fun! This project also gave me the opportunity to travel across Moldova: From Chişinău's shopping malls to small villages, from city parks to small kitchens, from a mother's birthday to a tattoo parlour, from a plumber to a beekeeper. And you all are loving, sharing, interesting and beautiful people. You all have enriched my life and filled in my heart with a little bit more joy. I want to thank you for letting me be that little annoying, buzzing insect again, without complaining whatsoever. Thank you! When we were shooting Callisto, dressed in a black short dress and with high heels on, in a big shopping mall in Chişnău, one lady approached us to greet and congratulate us for being there. She said it was about time for these types of initiatives to commence in the country. That lady in the mall, she is real. You are real. We all are real. And we all are in Moldova. Isn't it great? The purpose of the project was to show that we are anywhere and everywhere, we all are over Moldova, we are who we are, and we all can say: "Because I live here, I belong hem!" Cam o lună în urmă în viaţa mea a apărut iunna, o căţeluşă de zece luni, pe care, deseori, o plimb prin parc. Intr-o seară pe reţelele de socializare citeam postările de pe pagina organizaţiei pentru protecţia animalelor fără adăpost „ALGA" şi am văzut un anunţ în care se căutau stăpâni pentru o căţeluşă. Am văzut-o pe iunna şi m-am îndrăgostit de ea din prima. Am decis să o iau la mine. Acum suntem aproape nedespărţite. De ce aproape? Pentru că lucrez, iar când vin acasă, ea se bucură şi-mi sare în braţe. Cred că e foarte important ca mai multă lume din jur să cunoască despre viaţa persoanelor LGBT, pentru că nu ne deosebim de alţii. Trăiesc aici, şi anume de asta am dreptul să mă exprim.

One evening I was going through the Facebook posts of the nongovernmental organisation for protection of homeless animals, 'ALGA,' when I saw the announcement about adoption of a puppy. I fell in love with Iunna at first sight and decided to adopt her. Now we're almost inseparable. Why almost? I go to work, but when I get home, she rejoices and jumps into my arms. E important cât mai mulţi să cunoască despre viaţa persoanelor LGBT, pentru că, aflând despre viaţa noastră de zi cu zi, vor înţelege că persoanele LGBT sunt la fel ca şi ei. Sunt cetăţean al Ucrainei, deşi tatăl meu este italian iar mama moldoveancă. Din februarie, anul curent, mă aflu în Republica Moldova ca solicitant de azil din cauza conflictului armat de la estul Ucrainei. Am fost nevoit să părăsesc ţara din cauza creşterii duşmăniei în societate faţă de cei care diferă. Când luam certificatul de cazier judiciar din Ambasada Ucrainei în Chişinău, am fost numit trădător pentru că am părăsit ţara. De fapt, am făcut acest lucru pentru că nu s-a găsit un loc pentru mine acolo. În Kiev eram ocupat de creaţie şi de modeling. Aici, în Moldova, planific să fac acelaşi lucru.

Anume această informaţie îmi construieşte ziua. Pentru mine este important ca orientarea mea sexuală să nu mai fie importantă pentru cei din jur. Este doar o parte a personalităţii mele - nici mai mult, nici mai puţin preţioasă decât celelalte. Anume de aceea, pentru mine este crucial ca cei din jur să-mi cunoască şi această identitate. Aflând despre ea, oamenii nu mai percep persoanele LGBT doar prin prizma orientării lor sexuale sau/şi identităţii de gen, şi ne văd oameni, ceea ce suntem.

My life isn't that different from the life of others in Moldova: I also go to work, pay the same taxes, and I strive to not break the law. The only difference is that, unlike the heterosexual majority, I have to fight for the right to be myself and not to be subjected to verbal and physical violence every day. I go to the market every week. I walk with a cane because I have some back problems. I take a stroller bag and off I go shopping. I am a pensioner. The pension is never enough for living, so I have to rent out rooms in my apartment to students. Neighbours always wonder why I live alone and why I don't get married to a woman. They gossip a lot. I have a son, but he doesn't live in Moldova. When there is more reliable information about the LGBT lives in society, the level of acceptance will increase, and people won't be afraid of one another. I was born here and I live here. I want the pensioners to not live in poverty anymore and to sleep well at night.

I'm studying at the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts. Besides studying, I teach at a good manners club. I'm not pretending to be a teacher, but rather I try to help my students discover and develop the aesthetics of speaking and thinking within them. The Diction and Logic of Speech have never been more interesting for me than they are now - I am continuously challenged to grow and find new things, even when I believe the information has been exhausted. Este un proiect foarte interesant şi lăudabil, dar voi fi slab şi nu voi decide să fac parte din el din acelaşi motiv: preţuiesc lumea mea. Nu cred că în viaţa de zi cu zi ne deosebim de ceilalţi - la fel, trebuie să gospodărim, să avem mobila pe podea, dar nu pe pod. Ne ciocnim de aceleaşi situaţii de rutină ca şi alţii. Suntem la fel de îngrijoraţi de preţurile la produse alimentare, servicii şi alte bucurii ale vieţii. Şi chiar având posibilitatea de a-mi acoperi faţa şi de a păstra confidenţialitatea, nu există o posibilitate de a-mi lua faţa şi a crea un personaj. Aici este şi toată problema.

This is a very interesting and laudable project, but I will be a weakling and won't dare to participate in it for the one and same reason - I care about my world. I don't believe we are different from anybody else in our daily life: We also need to keep our house. Our furniture stands on the floor and not on the ceiling. We face exactly the same difficulties in life like everyone else. We are concerned about the price of goods, utility bills, and other joys in life, too. Despite the possibility to conceal my face and maintain confidentiality, there is no sure way to completely depersonalise me. And that's the rub.
