Spiritual Formation (Networked Education
sharpens the mind, deepens the soul, and prepares the leader for greater effectiveness in ministry).
In addition to the Pierce Center staff team, our committed faculty, the Deansof Students, Student Life Services, staff, and pastors of churches where students attend should be considered as resources for encouraging spiritual formation and intentional disciple building throughout their years at Gordon-Conwell.

GCTS Networked Education weaves spiritual formation into every aspect of the seminary journey.Faculty members design courses so that students join in wrestling with the spiritual implications of their intellectual journey.
Outside of class environments, students can connect for one-on-one prayer and spiritual carewith fellow students and alumni who have received spiritual formation training.
Students also are invited to meet in Soul Caregroups online or on campus every Saturday throughout the fall and spring semesters.Soul Care groups are offered as a safe place where students practice classicspiritual disciplines of: Listening to God in a deeper way Listening to one another Listening to oneself
Soul Care groups revolve around the ancient practice of contemplative listening, or waiting on God.These groups are not a Bible study, prayer group or theological discussion.Amidst the
demands and pressures of life, Soul Care offers a unique invitation to enter into
stillness of heart and mind as you experience God’s presencemore fully with other students and trained leaders.Andrew Murray said, “The whole creation is ruled by the one unalterable law ofwaiting on God!”
