P4S ELECTRIC PROGRAM EXPANDS SOLAR PROGRAM OPTIONS Power4Schools Electric Program and Econergy are helping school districts reduce their energy costs and when ready, transition to cheaper, greener, renewable energy. The program now offers three renewable energy options designed to reduce your energy cost.

Off-Site Solar or Wind Power: For districts that want to make the strongest possible sustainability statements, portfolioRE from ENGIE is a renewable energy supply solution that provides a direct physical connection between a school district and wind- or solar-generating assets Onsite Solar: Rooftop or a ground-mount solar generation can reduce energy costs on average by 15% or more.

Smart Solar (solar+ storage): On-site solar generation only partially offsets your energy bill, but when combined with battery storage and software optimization, allows for a much greater reduction in energy costs.

Smart Solar benefits: • Manages demand reduction and reduce peak load capacity charges.

• Improves reliability. When an outage hits your facilities ‘smart solar’ will seamlessly transition to the battery back up and you will not even notice that an outage occurred.

• Software optimization allows the battery system to release stored energy into the grid when favorable prices exist. Monthly benefits can further offset additional school district energy costs.

POWER4SCHOOLS ENERGY UPDATE

Three additional tools that can reduce your energy costs today and better navigate future price volatility The pandemic has changed everything, but our commitment to you is still strong. We know budgets are going to be tight next year, so we are very excited to offer our member districts several new tools that can reduce your energy costs today and better navigate future price volatility.

NEW SUPPLY CONTRACT AND BETTER RENEWALS Last year we offered the lowest priced electricity service in our history, an Energy Only, fixed price product for $0.03194/kWh for 24 months that has already saved P4S members over $1 million dollars.

Our current renewal rate is $.03129/kWh. If you would like to begin saving immediately contact Barb DelRoso at bdelroso@osconline.org.

ON BILL FINANCING Improving energy efficiency is one of the best ways to control energy costs because the cheapest electricity is the electricity you never use or purchase . If your district is considering facility upgrades to improve lighting, HVAC or for COVID mitigation, we now offer ENGIE ADVANTAGE which is a simple on-bill financing program that provides capital to fund projects of any scale or size.

PEAK LOAD ALERTS Capacity costs are scheduled to double in 2021-2022. Peak load alerts are a tool to help schools identify the potential five days of summer that are used to calculate capacity costs and to enable you to proactively reduce your energy use during those days. After a comprehensive Electricity Audit analyzing energy bills provided by 45 school districts, the OSC and partner Yankel & Associates identified a whopping $627,000 in billing errors that have been credited back to the participating districts. The errors were found in FirstEnergy rider fees and incorrect rate assignments uncovered by the thorough audit process.

OSC DEMAND RESPONSE PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROVIDE DIRECT PAYMENTS TO YOUR DISTRICT The program offered by OSC & CPower has No Cost, No out of pocket Penalties, No additional Equipment* and generates Energy Savings Checks to participants!

In response to the conclusion of the FirstEnergy Rebate program on July 31 of this year, the OSC is very excited to announce a new service offering to our member schools designed to put money back into your budget.

In partnership with COSE and CPower Energy Management, the OSC now offers a Demand Response (DR) program which can provide direct payments to your district simply by reducing energy use during a test or emergency event.

Each district can participate at its own level of curtailment and comfort with the 2-year program. Through participation and compliance to program details, OSC districts will receive an energy savings check quarterly from CPower.

As mentioned, these savings are a result of reducing energy use for a test or emergency event.

Participation payments over the next two program years range from $9,000-$43,000 per MW registered.
