OSC PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT:
ENERGY OPTIMIZERS OFFERS DISTRICTS ENERGY SAVINGS PROGRAMS The Ohio Schools Council is proud to announce that through the OCEPC Program we have extended our LED Lighting and Energy Savings Programs with Energy Optimizers, USA though January 31, 2020. Energy Optimizers, USA is the sole vendor selected for the LED Lighting & Energy Savings Program for all six Ohio educational purchasing cooperatives in the OCEPC Program. This program has already been competitively bid and waives the requirement for the traditional RFQ/RFP process. It allows the school district to have more control over its energy savings projects and reduces the overall project cost. School districts who’ve utilized this program in the past year include: Austintown Local Schools, Crooksville Exempted Village Schools, Edgerton Local Schools, Fort Recovery Local Schools, Greene County Educational Service Center, Greeneview Local Schools, Milton Union Exempted Village Schools, New Lebanon Local Schools, Noble Local Schools, North Union Local Schools, Oak Hill Union Local Schools, Tipp City Exempted Village Schools and Twin Valley Community Schools.

TIM DEL VECCHIO - OHIO SCHOOLS COUNCIL Tim Del Vecchio has over 48 years of criminal justice experience, 15 of which have been in international service for the United Nations. After 30 years of service with the Ohio State Patrol, Mr. Del Vecchio retired as the Commander of the Patrol’s Cleveland Metro Office in 2000. He was responsible for a major crimes investigation unit, an urban highway patrol, dignitary protection and security of state facilities. From 2015 to 2017 he served as a consultant for Ohio Homeland Security and assisted school districts in preparing their emergency operations plans. PATRICK FIORILLI - OHIO TACTICAL OFFICERS ASSOCIATION Serving as the current president for the Ohio Tactical Officers Association (OTOA), Patrick Fiorilli has extensive background in law enforcement to include over 30 years with the Lakewood Police Department with expertise in leadership, advanced training and S.W.A.T. He has held numerous positions within the Lakewood Police Department including Field Training Officer, Uniformed Investigator, Plainclothes Detective, Narcotics Detective, Motor Officer and currently assigned to the Special Operations - S.W.AT. Division as the S.W.A.T. Commander and lead departmental trainer.

Course Description
This course will introduce the participant to intercultural leadership in an international setting, in Florence, Italy. Participants will engage with the Kent State University US and Italian faculty, staff, and with Italian school and civic leaders in the classroom, the historic city, and in Italian PK-12 school sites. The course will allow participants opportunities to improve their cultural awareness and sensibilities as effective leaders of US schools, ever-evolving with students from a variety of ethnic, national, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Foci will be on the personal, interpersonal, and societal as participants explore curriculum as a journey and a course to be run in a freedom-loving society where all experience meaningful lives.
