A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Colleague: Thanks to you, our members, supporters and stakeholders.

The Ohio Schools Council has assisted more than 300 districts and educational institutions across the state access resources and programs that help put money back into the classroom.

After 30 years of success, we are proud of the opportunities and support we have provided to our member districts. We are excited to provide more meaningful and expanded programming with lower fees in the coming months.

Highlights of this past year include: •

Elimination of fees to participate in our School Bus Purchasing and Cooperative Purchasing programs, saving our members more than $84,000.

•

Along with the Educational Service Centers of Cuyahoga, Lorain and Medina Counties we joined forces to form Connect -- a unique Information Technology Center (ITC) developed to provide more robust network solutions, software support and data management.

•

We entered into a new contract with Constellation to secure historically-low natural gas rates for more than 150 Northeast Ohio school districts and government entities, saving them thousands annually.

•

We completed an extensive Natural Gas Transportation Audit, which saved our gas program members a total of $31,000/month.

•

We welcomed 6 new members, bringing our total membership to 200 educational entities in 33 counties.

As we launch into a new year, we remain committed to our mission of providing meaningful programs and unique services to our member districts, as well as expanding our reach to new regions across the state.

The Ohio Schools Council Agency Fund represents funds collected on behalf of members and program participants, reserved for natural gas, insurance premiums, legal hotline, eVAS/ePAS and other special programs.

Expenses exceeding revenue reflected in the 2015-16 Agency Fund consisted primarily of Natural Gas credits issued from the previous fiscal year.
