This is the time of year to look in the rearview mirror and review how our decisions impacted the bottom line over the past year. Mother Nature has been stingy with the moisture and our irrigation budgets and perhaps chemical budgets are reflecting this lack of water. Hopefully, your facility‟s revenues are reflecting the lack of rain as well with increased profits as compared to last year since we have had more days to play golf. „Tis the season to be thankful for the family and friends we have and to remember those that have

gone before us. I am very thankful to our superintendent members and hosts for supporting the various events and programs that our Chapter has hosted this past year. My thanks also go out to our Affiliate members for their ideas and financial support which provides us the ability to offer education, networking, and recreation at our events. Without the support and participation of everyone, our Chapter would struggle to survive. Additionally, I would like to express my thanks to the Board and Irene for the many hours that everyone puts forth to ensure that our
actions and decisions provide quality service and value to our membership. Regardless of what we are all thankful, this is also a time of giving. We all have our passions that compel us to provide our time, service, and financial abilities to worthwhile charities and institutions to help those that are less fortunate. I would encourage each of you to consider giving some of your time to our industry to provide assistance and insight to the profession that provides us our livelihood. 2013 Holiday Party By Mike Cline December 7, marked the annual Holiday Party for the GCSACC chapter this final month of the 2013. As we have done in the past few years, we held the event at “Windows on the Water” overlooking the harbor at
Morro Bay on the first Saturday of December. After years of trying, we finally got into position to book our event this first weekend of the month to correspond with the annual Christmas Lights Boat Parade which travels right by
our private dining room overlooking the parade route, unfortunately this year the parade was cancelled because of rain and high winds. We did however have a couple of boats that came by decorated to the fullest. (Continued on page 4)
