Summer is one of our favorite seasons at GCPA, jam-packed with programs to keep you active and thriving all summer long! We offer for Ages 5-13 of all levels, with a full lineup of half day camps (stack two for a full day!) plus extended day camps for busy schedules. Look for great themes, skill building activities, and all the fun you expect from summer camp!

Early & Late Camp

Ages 5+, for families who need movies, and other fun activities. Offered for any programming at option when at the theatre.

Sign up in advance online for full payment not available online and register and pay at least 24 hours ahead.

TIMES:7:45-9am,4-5:30pm

Campers for Early Camp will accepted before 7:45 am. Any droppedoffearlierwillnotbeunder supervision. Campers picked up pmwillbecharged$1perminute.

Pricing

All students must create an account to register for GCPA programming. There may be one account per family representing multiple students. Accounts must be created before registration may be completed. Email info@gcpastl.org for account questions and support.

REGISTRATION FEE

GCPA charges a nonrefundable registration fee of $30 for the first student and $15 per additional student per year, due upon first registration. Registration fees are charged on a FallSpring-Summer cycle and renew June 1st of each year. Accounts are automatically charged the fee the first session enrolled during that cycle.

Financial Assistance & Payment Plans

GCPA offers need-based financial assistance and payment plans. Please enroll in the desired program(s) without submitting payment to hold your spot, then contact Kaleigh at kbendoff@gcpastl.org for paperwork and processing.

Withdrawals & Cancellations

All transfer and withdrawal requests require a CHANGE REQUEST FORM available by emailing info@gcpastl.org. Students may transfer to another camp up to 2 weeks prior to the start date at no additional no charge, subject to availability Withdrawals less than 1 week prior to the startofcamparesubjecttoa$25withdrawalfee.

Withdrawals are permitted for a full refund (less the registration fee) 3 weeks prior to your camp start date Withdrawals are permitted with a 50% refund (less the registration fee) 2 weeks prior to your camp date. Withdrawals 1 week or less from your camp date are non-refundable and non-transferabletocreditorprogramtransfer.

GCPA may cancel a camp due to low enrollment Low enrollment camps will be notified 14 days prior to the first day. Camps will be cancelled up to 7 days prior to the first day. Enrolled students may transfer to an appropriate camp or receive a full refund. The registration fee is only refundable if the cancelled camp is the only class/production/camp the student is registeredforwithintheprevious12months.

BEHIND THE STAGE BEHIND THE STAGE

Performers get all the glory, but a show is nothing without costumes, props, and sets! This creative element of theatre is often overlooked, but there is fantastic artistic endeavors to be had in the world of theatrical design. Students will design costumes, build set design models, construct props, and paint backdrops for their favorite shows. In this camp, students will learn what it takes to put a musical on the stage from the tech side!

FROZEN JR

Frozen Kids is a magical, family-friendly production that brings the spirit of Disney’s Frozen to life on stage. Tailored for young performers, this version offers a fun and manageable experience while still delivering big moments of drama, humor, and heart.

Ages 11-16 |June 1- 21

Frozen Jr. is a heartwarming story perfect for audiences of all ages. Young performers will be thrilled to bring these iconic characters to the stage. The show offers exciting, creative possibilities with snow-filled sets, dazzling costumes, and magical effects, making it an ideal choice for a large and enthusiastic cast.

Ages 11-16 | July 6 - 26

From auditions to curtain, young performers will experience the entire process of putting on a fully staged show. Hone your singing, dancing, and acting skills, learn about staging, sound, lights, set, and costumes, and put it all together in a full-scale production! There is no audition required! Casting will take place within the first week of rehearsal. As part of the process, actors will receive audition training and practice!

THE LIGHTNING THIEF: The Percy Jackson Musical

RENT

Ages 16-20 | August 6-9

The gods are real, and they have kids… and those kids are in The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, based on the best-selling novel by Rick Riordan. This high-energy rock musical follows Percy Jackson, a teenager who discovers he’s a demigod and sets out on a quest to prevent an all-out war between the gods. Battling monsters, dodging mythical traps, and uncovering secrets about his past, Percy learns what it means to be a hero.

. Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking rock musical Rent follows a group of struggling artists and friends living in New York City’s East Village during the height of the AIDS crisis. As they face love, loss, illness, and the threat of eviction, they fight to hold onto their dreams and each other. Raw, emotional, and unapologetically real, Rent is a powerful celebration of life, community, and chosen family.

Leadership & Development

We are very intentionally investing in rising generations, providing as many opportunities as possible for young artists, well as creating opportunities for them to experience investing in others.

We are always seeking Interns and Teaching Assistants classes, camps and productions throughout all semesters and sessions in our year. Our Youth Theatre Company staffs a Youth Creative Team to work on its productions as well. These experiences look great on a resume and provide Invaluable experience and enrichment for developing artists of all kinds.

Interns

Teaching Assistants

Class and Camp Interns fully assist Teaching Artists / Directors in all such as setup & prep, demonstrating, class management and assistance, clean-up and more. Learn what it's like to be an Arts Educator and Director with mentorship from GCPA's Education Team! This position is unpaid, open to Ages 14-18, with opportunity for resume building and references.

Youth Creative Team

Class and Camp Teaching Assistants share responsibility with the lead Teaching Artist / Directors, creating content and executing instruction / direction. Other responsibilities Include some administrative and organizational duties and Interacting with students and families. This position is paid based on experience and open to Ages 16+.

The "YCT" includes assistantships on Mainstage and Summer Productions in Directing, Choreography, Stage Management, Hair, Costume & Makeup, Marketing, and more. Work closely with Industry Creative & Crew to learn the trades that make a show stage-ready! This position is unpaid, open to Ages 14+, with opportunity for resume building and references.
