Artistic Director’s Note Welcome to our 2020-2021 Season! To be honest, about 6 months ago, I didn’t think I would be able to say those words! What a year 2020 has been, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the continued support from our GCPA family.

As we discussed what this season would look like, the focus was on not only how but when to safely return to performance. In solidarity and respect for the entire theatre community that is suffering during this time and for the continued safety of our actors and staff, we knew taking it slow and being ready to pivot at a moment's notice is the only way to move forward (and, of course, with heavy safety policies and procedures!).

Our first production, Flat Stanley Online Edition, is the ideal way to jump-start our season safely and also launch our new program: Theatre for Young Audiences by Young Artists. Fully rehearsed and performed from home, this family-friendly musical will entertain the whole family and classrooms across St. Louis. We have big plans for the TYAYA program including adding a second production, Dear Edwina Online Edition!

To keep a safe distance from a lot of singing, live musicians, and live audiences, the play Anne of Green Gables (another GCPA first!) was perfect for our winter slot! Anne’s spirit, joy, and ability to adapt to any situation is the perfect analogy for 2020. With options to live stream or record in small groups if necessary, we can’t wait to share this masked, streamed performance with you. Join us online in January 2021 for this classic tale!

With so much disappointment from the shutdown, we knew we had to get all of our postponed shows back on the schedule. Urinetown, Frozen KIDS, Legally Blonde Jr., and Cabaret will finally get their time on stage. For Urinetown, the first to get the COVID boot, we have plans to produce this show No. Matter. What. Depending on the current situation, we will be able to produce this show as normal, streamed to a virtual audience, or even rehearsed and performed remotely from home (another Zoom-sical!). Quickly after we announced the postponement, the cast took to the rallying cry, “Urinetown will live!” and we are happy to say that will definitely happen. Hail Malthus!

Being GCPA, you probably know we always go big. Already 6 shows deep, we aren’t stopping there.

In addition to the reboot of most of our 2019-2020 season, we are ecstatic to also produce a spring Main Stage musical, the tap-dancing classic we’ve wanted to produce since we opened, 42nd Street; another middle school summer production, Godspell Jr.; and Amélie , a second high school summer production. Each of these shows was chosen to provide as many performance opportunities for our St. Louis youth when we are able to return to the stage.

While the future of live performance is still uncertain, I am ever-grateful that we are able to provide such an extensive season of opportunities for St. Louis youth. GCPA is growing and 2021 will certainly show that.

Director’s Note It’s October 1992. I’m a freshman in high school, and in order to get extra credit for my music class, I’m sitting in the gymatorium at Ursuline Academy to see a show: 42nd Street. After watching “We’re In The Money,” I sat in the painfully uncomfortable metal folding chair thinking, “It might be fun to do a show.” A few weeks later, as part of that same music class, I unknowingly auditioned for the spring musical at my high school. We all know what that led to.

It’s June 2002. Lori and I are in New York City. I had joined Actors’ Equity about a year prior, and we were about to use a new ‘perk’ recently introduced by a few Broadway producers: Equity rush tickets. The show: 42nd Street. This time I’m seated in a plush second row seat, a professional actor watching a tremendous cast tell the story that first got me thinking about getting on stage.

And now, almost 29 years after seeing it for the first time, I get to direct this classic Broadway story.

Based on the 1933 film of the same name, 42nd Street first got life on Broadway in 1980 at the Winter Garden Theatre. It moved twice during its original run, first to the Majestic Theatre so Cats could take over the Winter Garden. Second to the St. James so The Phantom of the Opera could take over the Majestic (where Phantom still resides) before closing in early 1989. It has won over audiences for 40+ years with its unforgettable tunes and lively dance numbers. And the story captures the hopes and dreams of so many artists...the dream of performing on Broadway.

I would be remiss to fail to mention that some of the elements of the story of 42nd Street have not aged well. Being a show set during the 1930s, the relationship between men and women of that era was drastically different - much more patriarchal as evidenced by the lyrics in “Dames” and Julian’s aggressive approach to directing Peggy as she prepares to take over the lead role in Pretty Lady, the show within the show. While we do not condone the misogynistic elements of the story, the spirit of the dream held by all the chorus kids in this story is the same dream so many of our students at GCPA hold...to be a speck on the stage of a Broadway show.

And make no mistake, these young artists are much more than specks on a stage.

They are brightly shining stars.

Who's Who Sophia Bellm (Ensemble) is thrilled to be in her first GCPA production! Her favorite past productions include: Frozen Jr., Seussical Jr., and The Lottery. When not on stage, she enjoys playing cello and tennis. Sophia takes voice lessons from Kristianna Pirrie Dilworth and many classes at GCPA. “Thank you to my family and friends and everyone at GCPA for all their support and encouragement.”

Olivia Button (Gladys, US Dorothy), a 12th grader, is excited to be a part of 42nd Street. Credits include: Agnes in She Kills Monsters, Lenore in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Tintinabula in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Big Kid in Matilda, Procne in The Birds, and Dance Ensemble in Mamma Mia and The Drowsy Chaperone. She studies voice with Kathleen Nuebling, and currently studies dance at COCA and GCPA. Greta Donnelly (Ensemble) is extremely excited to perform in her first GCPA production! Previous credits include Little Red in Into the Woods (Villa Duchesne), Nancy Drew in Nancy Drew: Girl Detective (Villa Duchesne), Andrea in Once on This Island Jr. (COCA), and a cast member of Arch City Kids Theatre Troupe. Greta enjoys taking jazz and tap classes at GCPA, and voice lessons with Emily Kuhn. She would like to thank her cast mates, directors, friends and family for their overwhelming love and support. Lauren Elise Dunn (Ensemble) is so excited to be back performing with GCPA again.

After spending a year in California attending Idyllwild Arts Academy, Lauren is ready to hit the stages of St. Louis again, even under such strange circumstances.

Some of her favorite credits include Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone (Idyllwild Arts), Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods (COCA), and Annie in Annie (Act Two Theatre). Lauren would like to thank Lori, Paul, and Stephanie for all their hard work as well as the cast and crew of 42nd Street.

Alex Eichholz (Andy Lee) is thrilled to be returning to GCPA in 42nd Street! Credits include Miss Trunchbull in Matilda (GCPA), Hartley and Mr. Guggenheim in Titanic (GCPA), Mr. Brook in Little Women (Villa

Duchesne), and Arty in Lost in Yonkers (Southwestern Illinois College), as well as Ensemble in Kinky Boots and Paint Your Wagon (The Muny). He studies dance at COCA and GCPA and studies voice with Jamie Eros. Many thanks to his family, friends, cast, and the creative team who have supported him. Enjoy the show!

Kamilah Gamble (Ensemble) is a senior at Parkway Central High School and is excited to be in this amazing production! She has been in other GCPA shows such as West Side Story, White Christmas, and Crazy For You. She was just recently the Stage Manager for GCPA's production of Urinetown! Whether it's on or off the stage, GCPA has given Kamilah the space and opportunities to grow and become the person she is today.

Jane Goldman (Maggie Jones), a junior in high school, is excited to participate in her sixth GCPA production! Favorite roles include Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda, Evelyn Nesbitt in Ragtime, Lavinia in A Little Princess, and Annie in Annie Warbucks.

Jane takes dance, voice and acting at GCPA. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support and encouragement and her performing arts family at GCPA for providing her with yet another wonderful opportunity!

Tyler Gregg (Waiter, US Billy), a freshman, is excited to be a part of this incredible cast! Previous credits: Matilda (MUNY), Urinetown (GCPA), Matilda (GPCA), Once Upon a Mattress (Visitation Academy), On My Way (ACTT), Anything Goes (CBC High School), A Christmas Story (CBC High School), and more. Tyler has been a member of the Muny Kids Touring Troupe since 2019. He is looking forward to performing the role of Link in Hairspray this summer at COCA. Tyler takes voice lessons with Dr. Jeffrey Carter, dance at COCA, and acting with Paul at GCPA. He is a former state gymnastics champion and competitive dancer and plays volleyball for his high school. “Many thanks to my family and teachers for always believing in me!”

Lily Griner (Ensemble), a 9th grader, is excited to be in 42nd Street. She has previously appeared in GCPA’s productions

Who's Who of Anne of Green Gables, Flat Stanley: Online Edition, A Legally Blonde Revue, The Addams Family, Titanic, The Music Man, A Little Princess, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and White Christmas. She has also performed with Shooting Star and Shrewsbury Community Theater. A dancer since age 4, Lily currently studies dance, vocal performance, and acting at GCPA, and she crafts, bakes, and is proud to always be true to herself! Lily thanks everyone for their support.

Ryan Hauck (Ensemble), a 7th grader, is thrilled to be a part of 42nd Street. Credits include: Matilda in Matilda (GCPA) Annie in Annie KIDS (GCPA), Jasmine in Aladdin KIDS (GCPA), u/s Susan and Ensemble in White Christmas (GCPA), Jane in A Little Princess (GCPA), Ensemble in Music Man (GCPA) and an orphan in Annie Warbucks (GCPA). “Many thanks to everyone at GCPA for this opportunity and to my family and friends for always supporting me!”

Olivia Hellin (Dorothy Brock), is proud to be appearing in her 7th GCPA production!

Past GCPA roles include Acrobat/Dance Captain (Matilda), Ilse (Spring Awakening), Alice Beane (Titanic), Hotel Hooker/Violet U/S (Violet), Polly (Crazy For You), and Emily (Elf the Musical Jr.). Catch her as Fritzie Kost later this summer in Cabaret.

Other favorite roles include: Katherine in Freaky Friday (Shooting Star Productions); Silly Girl in Beauty and the Beast and Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical Jr. (COCA). Olivia studies dance at COCA, voice with Jamie Eros, and acting with Paul Pagano. She is an Illinois Honors All-State musician, the Executive VP of her high school student council and participated in the Illinois All-State Theatre Festival. Next year Olivia will begin pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre. “Thank you, Paul, Lori and Stephanie for all the years of love, support, and amazing theatre!”

Tess Herrell (Oscar) is a sophomore at Parkway Central High School, and this will be their first show with GCPA. Some of Tess’s favorite past roles include Mrs. Squires in The Music Man with CBC High school, Sister Berthe in The Sound of Music with STAGES Academy, and the ensemble in Newsies with Spotlight Productions. Tess takes voice lessons with Maureen Carlson.

Madeline Hewgley (Peggy Sawyer) is an 11th grader and is excited to be in her second show at GCPA. Favorite credits include Mary Sunshine and Annie Young in Chicago (Parkway Central High), Cat in the Hat in Seussical (Stages Performing Arts Academy), The Addams Family (GCPA), Big Fish (Shooting Star), Joseph...Dreamcoat (Stages St. Louis), and Beauty and the Beast and Wizard of Oz (Variety Children's Theatre). Madeline studies voice with Lisa Fahey and acting at GCPA, and she dances at COCA. "Thanks to Paul, Stephanie and Lori for this opportunity! Much love to my family and an amazing cast! Break legs!"

Aden Hicks (Pat Denning, US Julian), a sophomore, is excited to be a part of 42nd Street! He is excited for his first experience with GCPA and hopes to continue doing shows here. Aden is a member of his choir, band, cross country, and track programs at school. Acting credits include Ralphie in A Christmas Story (YPT) and Mike in Newsies (YPT) He would like to thank his parents and siblings for their support.

Molly Higgins (Ensemble, US Maggie) is a graduating senior and will be attending Fordham University in the fall. She is beyond excited to be a part of 42nd Street!

Favorite credits include: Rona Peretti / Olive’s Mom in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (CBC High School) and Kate McGowan in Titanic (GCPA). She studies voice with Marty Fox as well as dance and acting at GCPA, and also enjoys photography and working for a local magazine. She would like to thank her parents for their endless support!

Ben Iken (Billy Lawlor), is thrilled to make his GCPA debut in 42nd Street with this amazing cast. Previous credits include The Boy from Oz (Young Peter Allen) at STAGES St. Louis, Evita (Youth Ensemble) at The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, MUNY KIDS Touring Troupe, and has appeared in seven MUNY productions including Singing' in the Rain (Young Cosmo) and A Chorus Line (Young Mike). Who's Who Brea Johnson (Frankie) is excited to be in her 4th GCPA production. Brea has recently appeared in A Christmas Story, Anne of Green Gables and as Soupy Sue in Urinetown the Musical. This summer she will attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. Brea spends her “free time” drawing, painting, reading and playing piano. Brea is grateful for the support of her family, fans and directors.

Lydia Kibler (Ensemble) is a junior in high school and is so excited to be a part of 42nd Street. You may have seen her most recently in Urinetown and Matilda with GCPA. Lydia hopes you enjoy the show. She sends love to friends, family, and cast!

Sophia Klobe (Millie) is thrilled to be performing in her fourth production with GCPA! A few of her favorite roles include Vera in Crazy For You and a Big Kid in Matilda! She is a junior at Notre Dame High School and has been dancing at Professional Dance Center since she was four. She is currently on their elite ensemble team. She would like to thank her parents, family and friends for always supporting her, as well as Paul, Stephanie and Lori for giving her the opportunity to perform in 42nd Street! She hopes you enjoy the show!

Trixie Kohlenberger (Ensemble) is in 9th grade, and she is thrilled to be performing in 42nd Street! Most recently, she played Old Diana in Anne of Green Gables (GCPA).

Some other favorite roles include Junie B. in Junie B. Jones (Althoff High School) and The Diction Coach in Singin' in the Rain (Looking Glass Playhouse). She studies dance at Belleville School of Ballet, tap with Lara Teeter and Kelly Ging, voice with Jamie Eros, and acting with Cooper Shaw.

Much love and gratitude to her family, friends, cast mates, and the creative team at GCPA! Josie Kopff (Lorraine Fleming) is 17 years old and performing in her sixth and final show with GCPA. Previous GCPA roles include: Crazy For You (Sheila), Urinetown (Rebel/UGC Ensemble), The Music Man (Teen Ensemble), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Speed Tapper), and Annie Warbucks (Pepper). She has also performed with

Chaminade, Ignite, and YSP. Josie has danced for 15 years and currently takes ballet, tap, and musical theatre dance at GCPA. She is in her 12th year of singing with the St. Louis Children’s Choirs and is currently a member of their Concert Choir.

When not dancing or singing, Josie enjoys reading, playing the piano, doing math, and playing with her four cats. She will be attending Washington University in the Fall as a math major, but definitely plans to keep dancing and singing as much as she can. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful GCPA staff for six amazing years of musical theatre experiences!

Ariana Kroeger (Diane Lorimer, Peggy US) is excited to tap her way into the audience's heart! She receives her dance and acting training through the CrAFT program at GCPA and studies voice with Katie Kopff. Ariana is grateful to the GCPA teachers and directors for continuing to provide amazing training and performance opportunities, and to her brother Eddie for the countless hours he spent as her personal videographer. A special shout out to Ariana's 3 cats, who do not enjoy her singing as much as she feels they should!

Anna Lawrence (Ensemble), a sophomore, is thrilled to be a part of 42nd Street! Her favorite roles include: Amy in The Theory of Relativity, an Ancestor in Addams Family, and Reyes in Be More Chill. Anna studies dance at COCA and GCPA and studies voice with Colin Healy. She would like to thank her friends and family for all their love and support. Enjoy the show!

Noah Macam (Bert Barry) is grateful to be making his GCPA debut as a part of 42nd Street. Noah has performed previously with The Muny, at SIUE, and with various theater groups around the Metro East area. His favorite credits include Nigel (Matilda), Young Simba (Lion King), Newsies, and Mary Poppins. He studies voice with Dr. Jeffrey Carter of Webster University and is an avid member in his school’s thespian productions. He’d like to thank his family for their constant support, the GCPA team for their hard work, and he hopes that everyone will enjoy the show!

Sophie Maddock (Ensemble) is so excited to be cast in GCPA’s production of 42nd

Who's Who treet. This is her 3rd GCPA production. She has had multiple roles at Kirkwood Youth Theater and Shrewsbury where she even played Alice in Alice in Wonderland. Sophie has a passion for singing and dancing, and cherishes the friendships she has made through St. Louis theater. She is honored to be surrounded by the talent in this cast and can't wait to see what the future holds!

Delaney McCoy (Ensemble), a 7th grader, is excited to be a part of 42nd Street. Delaney heard "The Lullaby of Broadway" long ago and has never looked back! Credits include: Orphan in Annie (Muny), Lullaby League in Wizard of Oz (CMP), Hortensia and Matilda u/s in Matilda (GCPA). Ruth Begie in Anne of Green Gables (GCPA) and Becky in Dear Edwina (GCPA) She studies voice and dance at GCPA, is a member of Show Starters at GCPA and her middle school show choir and dance team. She would like to thank her friends and family for all their support and a special thanks to GCPA for this wonderful opportunity.

Sarah Moll (Phyllis Dale) is thrilled to join the cast of 42nd Street, having just wrapped Urinetown at GCPA a few weeks ago! Some of her favorite shows include Titanic (Madeleine Astor) and Matilda (Big Kid) at GCPA and Les Miserables (Children’s Ensemble) at Missouri Baptist University. She studies voice with Lori Pagano, acting with Paul Pagano, and several styles of dance with so many incredible teachers at GCPA, including tap and musical theatre dance with Stephanie Fox and precision dance with Lois Enders.

Sarah was recently selected for the National Honor Society and St. Louis AllDistrict Choir and she loves singing with her high school’s Chamber Choir. She sends thanks to all my friends and family for their constant support!

Rebecca Mooney (Ethel) is thrilled to make her GCPA debut in 42nd Street! She has been a member of the Muny Kids Touring Troupe for the past five years, and is a veteran of multiple Muny productions, including A Chorus Line (“Young Maggie”), The Wizard of Oz, Young Frankenstein, Matilda, The Little Mermaid, Annie, Footloose, and the Muny Centennial Gala.

She also appeared as “Little Fan” in A Christmas Carol at Lindenwood University, and in Visitation Academy’s production of

Bright Star. Rebecca studies dance at Krupinski Academy of Dance and vocal performance with Lisa Fahey. She is overjoyed to lace up her tap shoes for this fun production!

Alex (Brooke) Newcomb (Thug #1, US Andy Lee) is an energetic senior who has been with GCPA for 6 years and is so excited to be in 42nd Street. From Thoroughly Modern Millie to Urinetown, the journey has been amazing. "GCPA is like a family to me. Even from the first step I took into the GCPA space, I felt at home." GCPA is definitely a place I will come back to as an adult. The memories I have made here will be memories I will cherish forever. Thank you Paul, Lori, Stephanie, Marty, Bekah and Spencer. This journey couldn't have been possible without each and every one of you. Thank you for helping me grow. Thank you to my friends and peers at GCPA, the many laughs and adventures we have had together. I love each and every one of you.

(Stephanie is the best :) ) Kalia Pagano (Ensemble) is in 8th grade.

This is her 13th show with GCPA! She has been in High School Musical, Hairspray, Annie Warbucks (Orphan, u/s Molly), Aladdin KIDS (Aladdin), White Christmas, Annie KIDS (Miss Hannigan), A Little Princess (Lottie), Music Man, Titanic, Addams Family, and Matilda. Outside of GCPA, she was Young Cosette in Les Miserables at Chaminade and has also played Young Julia in St. Louis University Theatre's production of James Joyce's The Dead. She has been taking dance and musical theatre classes since she was 4 and singing since before she could speak!

She plays clarinet in her school band and also plays ukulele. When not performing, she loves to draw, paint and make jewelry.

Upcoming, she will perform in Legally Blonde Jr. and Take Two's production of Fun Home, playing Small Allison. Much love to Mom, Dad and brother Xavier!

Xavier Pagano (Abner Dillon), a Sophomore, is excited to be part of the 42nd Street cast, having just returned to the stage for Urinetown (Senator Fipp). In recent years he has been on the crew running spot, super titles, and video for

Who's Who several GCPA shows. Previously, he was on stage with GCPA in White Christmas (Ezekial), Annie Warbucks (Roosevelt), Hairspray, and High School Musical. He plays clarinet in his high school Wind Ensemble and is an avid baseball player.

Sammy Parsons (Mac, US Bert), is thrilled to be part of his 7th GCPA production. When Sammy is not at 42nd Street practice or hanging out with his friends, he enjoys dance, voice, and acting lessons. Past favorite roles include: Officer Barrel in Urinetown, Rudolpho in Matilda, Fester in The Addams Family, Timon in The Lion King, Michael Banks in Mary Poppins, and Ensemble in A Christmas Story. Thanks to the directors, cast, and crew for working so hard to get us on stage during COVID, and thanks to our audience for coming to see our hard work. Enjoy!

Abbey Paul (Ensemble), a sophomore, is thrilled to be a part of another GCPA show!

Her past roles include Josephine Strong in Urinetown (GCPA), Annabelle Fuller in George Washington Slept Here (North Players), and various ensemble roles in other shows. She studies voice with Catherine Kopff, takes musical theatre dance with Stephanie Fox, tap with Spencer Milford, and studies acting with Paul Pagano through GCPA. Abbey is also a member of GCPA’s CrAFT Program. Thanks to her cast mates, the creative team, and her family.

Brodie Pratt (Doctor, Thug #2) is very excited to be returning to GCPA in 42nd Street. He has previously been in Matilda and Anne Of Green Gables with GCPA, as well as other local theatre productions including Lion King, Mary Poppins, and Once on this Island. He was also in Shooting Star's Freaky Friday as well as multiple school productions, most notably Newsies. Brodie hopes you have fun and enjoy the show.

Julia Rhodes (Ann Reilly) is very excited to be making her Gateway Center for Performing Arts debut in 42nd Street! She is in 10th grade and enjoys dancing at Krupinski Academy of Dance and voice lessons in her spare time. She would like to thank GCPA and the cast and of 42nd

Street for this wonderful experience. She would also like to send love to her Mom and Dad for always cheering her on and supporting her.

Claudia Taylor (Ensemble) is so excited to be making her GCPA debut in 42nd Street!

Some of her favorite roles include: Michael in Be More Chill, Ensemble in The Wizard of Oz, and assistant directing The Theory of Relativity. She studies voice with Colin Healy at Fly North Theatricals and practices ballet, tap, and jazz at GCPA. She would like to thank her family and friends for being so supportive and putting up with endless tap dancing.

Noah Van Ess (Julian Marsh) is so excited to be back at GCPA and a part of 42nd Street. Credits Include: Frederick Barrett in Titanic (GCPA), Agwe in Once On This Island (COCA), and Jimmy Ray Dobbs in Bright Star (Visitation Academy). Love to his family and the cast of 42nd Street!”

Evelyn Vordtriede (Ensemble) a 10th grader, is thrilled to be a part of 42nd Street! Evelyn’s credits include Carrie in Anne of Green Gables (GCPA), Connie in A Chorus Line (Ignite Theatre Company), Albert in Newsies (Spotlight Theatre Company), and Teen Ensemble in The Music Man (Variety Theatre), among many others. Evelyn is a part of her school’s A Cappella group and is a board member of her school's International Thespian Society.

Brynley Wall (Lollie) is in 10th grade and is ecstatic to be making her GCPA debut as a member of the 42nd Street cast! Brynley started her performing career on The Muny stage at the age of seven. Previous credits include Aladdin, Nunsense, Tarzan, Beauty and the Beast, Wizard of Oz, Little Mermaid, Gypsy, and Cinderella (Muny), as well as The Music Man (CBC). She was a member of The Muny Kids Touring Troupe for three years. She studies voice with Katie Kopff and dance at Krupinski Academy of Dance. “I’m so grateful to GCPA for this amazing opportunity!! Many thanks to my friends, family, mentors, and castmates for supporting me in all I do!”

Who's Who CREATIVE TEAM Paul Pagano (Director and Executive Director), a native of St. Louis, received his BA in Drama from Washington University and Masters in Theatre Education from Fontbonne University. As a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association since 2001, Paul has had the opportunity to work with the Guthrie Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Children’s Theatre Company, Chanhassen Dinner Theatre, Hey City Theatre, the MUNY, STAGES St. Louis, HotCity Theatre, and many others. As a director and fight choreographer, in addition to 19 productions (and counting) at GCPA, credits include the MUNY, Washington University, Fontbonne University, Missouri All-State Theatre, and Kirkwood Theatre Guild. As an instructor, Paul has taught at GCPA, COCA, St. Louis University High School, and STAGES Performing Arts Academy. Love to wife, Lori, and kids, Xavier and Kalia!

Lori Barrett-Pagano (Music Director and Managing Director) is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of GCPA. She earned her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Washington University in St. Louis.

She has been teaching voice for over 25 years – currently as an adjunct voice faculty at St. Louis University, as well as voice and classes at GCPA. Professionally, Lori has performed locally with The MUNY, STAGES St. Louis, Union Avenue Opera, Echo Theatre, Spotlight Theatre, MainStage Musicals and SIUE Summer Showbiz. Regional credits include The Minnesota Opera, North Star Opera, Minneapolis Musical Theatre, Theatre in the Round, and The Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company. Lori is so proud of the hard work and dedication of this amazing cast.. Congratulations!! Much love to her husband Paul, and her children Xavier and Kalia.

Stephanie Fox (Artistic Director) has been waiting for years for this one! Originally from Oklahoma, Stephanie graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Music: Music Theatre and continued her studies independently in New York. As a proud member of Actors’ Equity (Stephanie Long) she has performed regionally, on National Tour and in New York. In St. Louis, Stephanie has taught at COCA, STAGES,

and is choreographer for Chaminade College Preparatory. She is humbled to work with the amazing young actors that pass through GCPA’s doors, both real and virtual. This one is for Sammy. Who feels a little left out with the new brother.

Sarah Richars (Stage Manager) is a sophomore and is so happy to be with 42nd Street! This is her sixth show with GCPA, and her third show on crew. She would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work. Break a leg to the cast!

Grace Cooperstein (Asst. Stage Manager) is an eight grader at Whitfield School. Past crew positions include: Stage Manager for The Happiness Shop (Whitifeld School) and Stage Crew for Anne of Green Gables (GCPA). Favorite on-stage roles include: Billy Boy Bill in Urinetown (GCPA), The Butler in Joseph...Dreamcoat (Dayspring), and JoJo in Seussical (New City). Off stage, she enjoys baking, listening to Broadway music, watching Disney+, candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. Special thanks to the GCPA staff for this amazing opportunity, and to her parents for relentlessly supporting her love of musical theater and driving her to all the rehearsals.

Tracey Newcomb (Costume Design) has had the privilege to work with St Louis area theatre for the past 10 years. She has won 2 AFL awards for best costume and has been nominated for several more. She works with several different theatre groups as well as schools. She is the costume designer for the City of St Charles for their festivals Legends and Lanterns and Christmas Traditions. Tracey has costumed GCPA’s shows since 2015 and has enjoyed the opportunity to work such great talented staff and youth. Tracey lives with her husband Paul and youngest daughter Brooke. She has 4 other adult children and 2 granddaughters that own her heart.

George Shea (Set Design) George is a St. Louis based set/scenic, prop, costume, and cosplay designer. He has had the pleasure of designing sets and building props for local and regional theater. Most recently George has designed sets for Chaminade College Preparatory School, NGTC/Vivre’ Theatre, West End Players Guild, set and props for Fly North Theatricals, as well as

Who's Who Bluff City Theater’s complete 2019 Season.

George has designed and built props for Marquette High School theatre. Through the years George has also designed and built numerous props and dance costumes for Motion Express School of Dance and Acrobatics. George is grateful for the opportunity to design the Anne of Green Gables set for GCPA, and looking forward to working with the team again!

Laura Skroska (Props Design) Laura Skroska is excited to be returning for her eighth show with GCPA. Laura studied technical theatre at Northwestern University and SIU-Edwardsville, and received her MFA in Painting from .Fontbonne University. Laura also works as Technical Director for the New Jewish Theatre. Other recent credits include Scenic and Props Design for St. Louis Shakespeare Festival’s TourCo, Props Master for Winter Opera St. Louis, and Shakespeare in the Park. Laura would like to thank her husband, family, and pet rabbits for their love and support.

Justin Smith (Sound) is a St. Louis Native who graduated valedictorian in Audio Engineering and Sound Design from the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis, MN. Since then he's served as the Production Coordinator for the Missouri History Museum for 9+ years, providing audio/visual production for exhibits and events such as "STL 250", "Twilight Tuesdays", and "Panorama's".

Justin has also made a name for himself in the St. Louis Theatre community, assisting in dozens of performances over the last six years. In his spare time Justin enjoys hiking with his wife & schipperkes, Reilly & Rocket.
