Thank you for attending the 31st Annual Market at the Food Bank! This event supports our Harvest for Hunger campaign, which is a local food and funds drive spanning 21 counties. We are grateful to you and hope you enjoy the delicious food and drinks provided by our generous partners.
I am passionate about the Food Bank’s mission and honored to serve as the event’s Chairperson for the second year. I am humbled by the outpouring of support from our sponsors and all of you here tonight, which will make this the most successful event yet. And it’s more important than ever.
The need for emergency food in our community continues to be elevated. Last year alone, the Food Bank and its network of 1,000+ program partners across our six-county service area served more than 404,000 unique individuals. That is as high as during the pandemic. Nearly a quarter of those neighbors received help for the first time. Families who were once able to make ends meet are now falling behind. Working parents and seniors on fixed incomes—people who never imagined needing help—are finding that they do. But here’s the powerful truth: your generosity can turn hardship into hope. Thank you for making a difference!

The First Annual Food Bank Champion award is presented to Howard Lewis. The award honors an individual who has made a transformational impact on the Food Bank.
Howard has been a donor for nearly thirty years and served as the Harvest for Hunger co-chair in 2013-2014. For many years his company — Family Heritage Insurance — ranked among the top employee campaigns.
We are deeply grateful for his leadership of the expansion campaign, which raised more than $80 million dollars, thanks in large part to his tireless work and infectious enthusiasm for helping others.
