One of those programs is the annual essay writing contest. This year's essay question for 9th-12th grade students was, “What does Americanism mean to me?”, and the question for the 6th-8th grade students was “Can social media affect people?” After the winners were notified of their papers' success, they attended a dinner hosted by the American Legion.
There were six winners from GCCA for the Americanism prompt. Jairus Huntsburger (9th) was first in the Slippery Rock legion, Lily Hasenplug (9th) followed in second, and Justin Barger (10th) won third. Cana Severson (12th) won first place in the Harrisville legion, Ava Hannon (9th) placed second, and Mateo Holtz (9th grade) came in third. Cana placed at both local and county levels, winning 2nd in the district and 325 dollars Adria Severson was the one winner for the 6-8th grade contest Her essay won in multiple counties, and she was awarded 175 dollars

Meet The Acquavita Family

During a pivotal time of transition in the life of our family, we became connected with GCCA Mike had worked for a number of years as the program director of Seneca Hills Bible Camp. We knew it was time for him to be done with camping ministry, but had no clear vision for what came next. Both of Emily's bosses have children who go to GCCA so we had heard rave reviews of the quality of education provided.
As we tried to discern Mike's next career steps, a job opened up at GCCA. Mike never really viewed himself as a fifth grade teacher, but he decided to apply We rejoiced when he was offered the position It has been an encouragement to our entire family to watch Mike's role continue to evolve, and we have been blessed by so many families at the academy.
Our kids started attending when they were each old enough for the pre-3 program We have been blown away by how they have been able to learn and grow under the instruction from their teachers and guidance from the classroom aides. We are so thankful for God's hand at work in bringing us here
