What is a fixed annuity?

Fixed annuities are insurance contracts that grow tax deferred until you’re ready to withdraw the funds or turn them into a regular paycheck you can’t outlive. You can make contributions in a lump sum or a series of payments in either qualified retirement accounts or non-qualified accounts. As retirement nears, you can choose from multiple payout options for the annuity.

MORE ABOUT THE PREFERRED 8 AND PREFERRED 5 ANNUITIES GBU Preferred Series deferred annuities help grow your savings with competitive interest rates, compounded daily, while our immediate annuities convert your funds directly into a stream of income payments. After the 5- or 8-year surrender period, we offer a loyalty bonus rate conversion, for the first year of your new term. Both Preferred Annuities feature penalty-free withdrawal options after the first contract year, no added processing fees and guaranteed minimum interest rates to ensure growth of your premium. After your initial deposit, you can add additional deposits of up to $1M per contract year, with no new surrender period added.

Offer available only to current GBU members who have been members for one year or more and do not yet have an annuity contract with GBU Life. The Loyalty Bonus Annuity interest rate is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of issue. After the first contract year, subsequent rates are subject to change at any time but will not be less than the guaranteed rates of 2.00% and 1.65% on the Preferred 8 and Preferred 5 respectively. Effective annual yields will be lower if withdrawals are more frequent than annually. After the first contract year, annual annuity deposits are limited to $1,000,000 for the Preferred 8 and the Preferred 5. GBU Life is the marketing name for GBU Financial Life (GBU).
