Beyond the Stretch - TPG Newsletter #29

Page 1

Welcome to October. October is the nationwide celebration of National PT Month. Since joining Therapy Partners Group in April of 2020 we have grown from 21 locations to almost 145. Our approach to National Physical Therapy month has remained consistent; celebrate our patients, our employees, and our community.

Each patient that comes in contact with clinics has a story and we all play a role in helping improve their life. Let's celebrate their journeys, their small steps, and their wins with unforgettable interactions that make a lasting impact.

There are over 1,300 employees that work within or support the 140+ clinics, and we want to celebrate all of YOU. Let's be intentional with our interactions with each other. Smile, be in the moment, be engaged and enjoy our time with each other.

Over the last two years, the community involvement from many clinics has continued to increase. From clinics hosting food drives, canned food or dog food donation drives, and participating in local 5K races, to reading to local elementary school kids, these are just a few of the many ways our clinics have given back to the community during National PT Month. It's inspiring to see the impact that we have made on the communities that we serve. Let's celebrate our communities by showing our support and giving back.

This month I hope you are inspired to celebrate, connect, and be in the moment as you make unforgettable interactions with patients, fellow staff members, and your community.

How old is Deku & what's his favorite food?

Corn snake, Deku, is about 1.5 years old. His favorite food is fuzzy little mice.

Fun Facts!

Deku eats only about every 12 to 14 days! He gets active in his home when he is hungry. He is normally lazy for about a week after eating while he digests his food fully.

He loves trying to get out of his cage, unless Mason wants him to come out.

DEKU Mason doesn't know if Deku is male or female, but he named it as if it was a boy and is rolling with it.

Cheers to Clinical Instructor/Physical Therapist Margo Kwiatkowski of Two Trees, West Ventura! She guided student PT, Natalie Cerda from Azusa Pacific, to success by helping her develop confidence inside the clinic and gain clinical skills needed to succeed after graduation.

Elaina Stover, PT at Bodycentral, presented at this year's APTA Pelvic Health Fall Symposium! She presented to currents PTs & students across the globe on dry needling for abdominal pain in women post-cesarean section. Way to go team for passing knowledge on to others so they can grow!

I'd like to be a contestant on the Amazing Race. I would love to race around the world to reach the final destination. Two things I enjoy - competition and travel!

I wish I could be smart enough to compete on Jeopardy but I think I'd do better with Family Feud (;

ALONE. I like the creative survival skills required to survive. Not sure I could last more than a week but it would be an introspective challenge.

I would be on the reality show called “Alone”. This would be the experience of a lifetime as well as an experiment to test my knowledge and skills of survival but above all the mental and physical fortitude it takes to thrive.

Family Feud! Steve Harvey is hilarious & fun questions to answer!

I think the one I would like to participate in the most would be "Alone". It is the show where people test their survival skills in the wilderness. I would need to enhance my survival skills prior to partaking on this challenge, however, I think it would be the experience of a lifetime for me.

ASK ME AANYTHING! SK ME ANYTHING! If you could be on any game show/reality show, which one would you choose & why? American Ninja Warrior…because it looks fun, and they still allow for the occasional older guy to participate and I know some good PTs for the after care.

Wheel of Fortune. Reminds me of my grandmother, she loves that show. I also watch it with my wife and kids now. My wife is slightly better than me :)

Man vs Wild - I could go without eating bugs for lunch but I love to be in the woods enjoying God's creation!

Supermarket Sweep

Because … everyone always goes for the steaks and lobsters to have the highest priced carts. No one has figured out they should be going to the cooking aisle and loading up on small spice bottles, like saffron and vanilla

Teams going the extra mile, being involved in their communities

Pair & Marotta Physical Therapy was well represented at a local fundraiser for the Kern County Museum and the Children’s Advocates Resource Endowment (C.A.R.E.).

The CARE program was formed as a non profit in 1999 to raise money for local children's charities. Special thanks to Bob Pair, Brie Pair, and others who participated in the event. We were able to give back to the community and collaborate with other medical professionals while doing it!

Our Inspire PT clinics hosted a booth at a local family festival in Spokane Valley, WA this past weekend! Valleyfest is a community festival that celebrates three decades of fun entertainment, recognizing the youth, and community commoradary.

ProSport Physical Therapy & Performance is a proud supporter of USA Water Polo. They are involved in various ways with the organization/community throughout the year. They even have the opportunity to assist USA Polo in the 2028 LA Olympics!

Jessica McCLain, MOT, OTR of Sport and Spine volunteers as a JV water polo coach for a local high school, her alma mater. We love seeing our team members involved in their communities. Way to go Jessica!
