A MESSAGE FROM OUR SENIOR DIRECTOR OF RESIDENCY, FELLOWSHIP & CLINICAL EDUCATION Hey all! My passion for my entire career has been encouraging excellence in Physical Therapy care! I have been a Physical Therapist for 13 years, after having completed a residency at the beginning of my career. I quickly set my sights on creating opportunities for others to learn and expand their expertise in Physical Therapy Specialties through residencies, and more recently fellowships.

I believe Residencies and Fellowships give clinicians a unique opportunity to fast-track their way to expert clinical practice through 1:1 mentorship, didactic modules, and specialty practice observations. I also believe it offers a great medium for Unforgettable Interactions, especially in the realm of Empower and Exceed!

We EMPOWER our residents to be brilliant within that area of expertise and bring their best to the patients, and EXCEED expectations by increasing the level of knowledge, skill, and expertise available in the medical communities that we serve.

I am so grateful for the incredible team of people that make Residency and Fellowship Education possible at TPG and am excited for the future of what is to come as we continue to expand the program across our brand partners at TPG to enable us to EXCEED in patient care and employee experience through building expert clinicians!

Residencies allow a direct path to Specialty Certification in the field of Physical Therapy and it has been my absolute pleasure and joy this past year to celebrate many wins in the field of Residency and Fellowship education.

CELEBRATING NATIONAL OT MONTH! Occupational therapists touch hands, hearts, and minds

From working with children with disabilities to helping injured workers recover and return to work—to specializing in disorders and injuries of the upper extremity as a Certified Hand Therapist, to working in Neuro Rehabilitation with patients that have suffered a traumatic brain injury.

OTs and COTAs are there to bring high-level, compassionate care.

Lourdes Santiago Napa Valley Clinical Director My mother was a single mom. She brought me and my sister from El Salvador when I was 3 years old. She raised us by herself and always encouraged me to go to school and get an education. Part of the reason I am where I am today is because of her.

Being a mom myself, I love coming home to my 5-year-old because she is always so excited to see me. She tells me she loves me and gives me air kisses randomly. I love spoiling her with foot massages before bed.

Christina Bravo NWRA PCC I am a senior! My daughter is named after me, Christina Ann Bravo Jr. When I was pregnant, we couldn't see what sex the baby was so jokingly my husband said if it's a boy it is jr. to him, and if it's a girl it would be a jr. to me. Well, it was a girl! Raising a child is the most wonderful, exciting thing ever.

Samantha Baumler ProSport Clinical Director My favorite thing about motherhood is embracing the joy my kids have brought to not only my life but my whole family.

Kids have a funny way of showing how simple the little things in life are and being a witness to their happiness along the way, is icing on the cake!

Kyle Davey Coordinator of Athletic Performance There are two moms I love most: my mom, and my wife, the mother of our children.

I love when my mom comes over to spend time together with us and her grandchildren. Nothing big or extravagant, but that time is priceless.

Mikayla Mowery Regional Front Office Manager My Mom has always been the greatest motivator in my life. She would always say, "As long as you are giving it your best, that is all that matters". My favorite thing about motherhood is seeing how my love grows every day in my kids' lives. I love laughing with them and telling them stories!

Jenn Mock Inspire PT Occupational Therapist Shoutout to my mom who has been the strength in our family and makes every day special. She is always planning holiday gatherings and teaching us so much about love, kindness, and compassion. I love being a mom that can share family trips with my boys, celebrate their accomplishments, watch them play sports, and love on them with hugs and kisses. Even though they don't always like that!

Each year, members of the Northern California Clinical Education Consortium select one clinical instructor per university.

PATIENT LOVE I have nothing but absolutely amazing things to say about three of your staff members. First, Kylie N was my PT for just over a year and I am so sad she is leaving ProSport. She is kind, caring, attentive, willing to experiment with new exercises and movements, and really gets to know all of her patients on a personal level. Similarly, I have been fortunate to work with many of your aids over the past year.

Riley H, was the first aid I ever worked with at ProSport. The same sentiments go for her as does Kylie, she is kind, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and a very easygoing and down-to-earth person. It really helped me feel more comfortable going in for appointments knowing my PT as well as the aids I routinely worked with knew me both as a patient and a person.

Second, Melanie Q. She seemed to always be working Wednesday mornings when I’d be there so Mel and I worked closely together for 7+ months. Again, only amazing things to say about Mel as a person and as an aide. We always had great conversations, she knew my exercises and schedule like the back of her hand and was always there for me when I needed any assistance. I was incredibly fortunate to get to know both Riley and Mel and they both made my experience at ProSport even better than it already was. Thank you for your time in reading this. Simply wanted to acknowledge three amazing staff members that made my experience one I will never forget.

Mr. Tim Papineau, I felt it was my pleasure to be treated at the Inspire PT clinic in Spokane Valley.

My progress in strengthening and decreasing pain in my right hand and wrist was amazing under the care of your COTA/L Nathan Webber, and his assistant Makenna. I was given treatments and exercises to do at the clinic and at home. I was compliant with this course of treatment and it paid off. I am stronger and able to do more tasks with my R hand that I have been able to do for years.

My R wrist ulnar pain is resolved. The professional care and conduct of these employees is exemplary. They should be commended on their work and patient care.

Monty Merrill & the Lodi Team, I want to thank you and your staff for the wonderful visits at your facility. I have been extremely pleased with my time here, and, definitely with the outcome. I enjoyed my time, and was eager to return---no “dreading” my rehab! I have definitely told others of my experience and have recommended this location.

You have a great staff. Jessie, Brianna, Ashleigh, JoJo, and Jessica all worked with me, and very much appreciated their time to help me AND review exercises as I went along. I also thank them for their patience. Some days…..I wasn’t really sure of my left or my right to do what was needed! They were professional in their job, and attentive. Melissa was helpful with scheduling.

At my Eval, you had asked what my goals were, and, of course, to regain my confidence to go out without the fear of falling. Maybe Bay to Breakers in May? Do my normal routine…! Well, I do feel that these goals have been accomplished. I’ve always felt that you (Monty) have always enjoyed what you are doing. And, it is still obvious. I’m sure so much has changed over the years, but you still show a bright side and encouragement to recovery. It is appreciated.

I recently twisted my knee at the end of May. It took me about two months until I would walk without a limp. I had a terrible time with my insurance trying to get in for an MRI. I decided I wanted to get professional help, so I scheduled an appointment at Golden Bear Physical Therapy with Monty Merrill. I was so impressed! Monty was very encouraging and has many years of experience in his field of physical therapy. When I was receiving physical therapy, Monty told me about Pump which he started many years ago. I decided to try it for a month. I have a personal trainer, Abraham who is awesome! He designs your workout programs around your very own body and your needs. Looking back, going thru the suffering of twisting my knee wasn’t fun, but it did open my eyes to Golden Bear/Pump. So, I’m very grateful. I also really enjoy the environment.

Our CEO Brent Mack and COO Kim Kollwelter are on the road! Throughout the months of April and May Kim and Brent are coming to our local clinics to roll out leadership training for our Clinic Directors and Regional Directors!

Exciting information they are bringing to our leadership teams as they are rolling out TPG Way Training, updated leadership reporting access, and onboarding programs for our new hires as TPG looks to continue to exceed expectations with our team members and patients. Look for these familiar faces in the coming weeks in your clinics and huge thank you for the time investment for all involved!
