Over a year ago, I accepted the position of Chief Clinical Officer for Golden Bear Therapy Partners. What I love about the position is the collaborative nature of the role, and the ability to work across company functions and our partner brands to create positive changes that move us closer to our personal, professional, and company goals. I report directly to our Chief Executive officer Brent Mack and my responsibilities include oversight of service lines, marketing & sales, employee & patient engagement, and clinician leadership & educational development.

As a physical therapist myself, and a former practice co-founder and CEO (Bodycentral PT), I understand the challenges we face as clinicians. I know what it takes to build a practice from the ground up, and the passion, blood, sweat and tears that go into growing a business. I have been a champion for this great profession of ours for over 27 years, watching us go from a near 100% physician referral model to today's models of direct access in all 50 states.

Through the advent of Golden Bear University, we have been able to provide education, develop specialist level physical therapists, add new service lines for our partners, and to work to bring rehabilitation professionals to the forefront of healthcare. I believe we exist as a primary access point for neuro-musculoskeletal issues, and we need to advocate on behalf of our profession (and patients), to the public, the healthcare community, payers, employers, and regulatory groups.

What I've learned over 20 years of practice ownership is that true leadership exists to provide opportunity and growth for the teams it supports while maintaining and championing the mission and vision that connects them. I am a true believer in the power of our vision, the capability of our Golden Bear Therapy partner brands and teams, and the potential of this company to do great things in the healthcare arena. We are truly stronger together.
