Without AI we could never utilize the full potential of our cow base. Huge pastures, breeding out of the back of the trailer, early mornings at 4:00 AM and late nights. String lights run by a generator and plenty of miles between point A and point B. Most of us don’t have perfect set ups to breed, that said a couple panels, maybe a corral, someplace to plug in your water, it doesn’t matter if it’s a cigarette lighter in your truck, it’s doable, we know it because we do it. AI will change your program faster than anything else you can do.

WE SHIP SEMEN EVERYDAY. ORDER ONLINE OR CALL THE OFFICE.
We made as big of an investment next to a few of the bulls in this book as we ever have in our Griswold Genetics business. We know what it’s like to wait on semen when you have a set of cows set up and not be able to get a tank. We bought a large number of tanks last year and were able to get tanks turned around within a week. We ship tanks all over the United States and will keep the shipping rates as reasonable as possible. Either order online or call Macee in the office at 405.372.3300 and we will get a tank packed and ready to head your way.
We are a real family, we take real investments, in real cattle that we believe in. There is no huge company standing behind us, no backup plan. We ranch just like you, cattle are our life. These genetics, they have to work, if they don’t you fail and we fail with you. Our day in and day outs are based in the pasture, we have long days sorting, branding, putting up hay, and we know the long nights of breeding in the headlights, a backwards calf, and that dirty dozen that won’t drop the last calves so you can go to sleep. We have survived bouts of scours, had sales that didn’t go as planned, and wondered what we would do when the haystacks ran out. We pray for rain, and plant the crops with the faith that they will come, just like you. Griswold Cattle is a real family, when you buy semen from us you buy into our dream that we are all in this together and together we can all reach the top.
If there is one thing we do at Griswold Cattle it is diversify. We love those good made, good looking females, but we realize it takes effort to get them. Through the years we have bought different set's of cattle, bred them, changed them, and turned for a new opportunity. We've ran stockers, we've retained ownership on our calves and fed them through, we sell bulls and try to sell a few high dollar females, if there is a sector of the industry we have seen it, tried it, and lived it. There has been a lot of water under the bridge, a lot of miles, and whole lot of change and growth.
Growth doesn't come from comfort zones, it takes struggle, and it takes work, to grow, and then to maintain. This set of bulls are ones we have hand selected, cattle that are above everything else, FUNCTIONAL. We want you to make a profit, we price every bull in this book as realistic as we can so every one of you can use them. I come from a long line of cattlemen but when I started on my own I had 13 head of cows and some big dreams. The right genetics and keeping consistency one cow at a time can build ANYONE’S program. Good cattle are available to everyone, it just takes work. The thing I love the most about all these bulls is that it allows everyone of you with the hope of making your program better to use a straw of semen and have some of the top high dollar genetics of proven producers available to YOU, we don't hold them back, we buy them to make our program better and we buy them to make YOUR program better. We always say we are all in this together, we mean it.

Not your typical pedigree and EPD profile! Night Owl is not only impressive to look at, but his EPD profile is incredible! He’s a unicorn that is the cowman’s kind of bull: rugged, with bone and substance, power, and design. He is sired by one of the hottest Simmental sires in the nation and he’s fixing to set the world on fire. CED of 14.3, BW of -1.2 (actual BW is 61) and an $API of 169! Not to mention his MARB is also in the top 10% of the breed! His scan data reflects a 19in REA and 6.63 IMF — you don’t find cattle that look like this with a number profile that reads like Night Owl’s. You haven’t seen the last of this upcoming herd sire; he’s a different kind. If you like the look with numbers, jump on the bandwagon.
Dr. Chris Mullinex said in the last historic National Western held on the hill as he selected Night Owl for the Grand Champion bull, “This is a breed that can and will continue to have relevance in the commercial sector and still breed show cattle. We think phenotypically the best bull standing out here also has assembled a genetic opportunity that is pretty unique.” Night Owl is a bull that will leave you with a set of cows that you love looking at in the pasture just as much as you love looking at their EPD profile.
He will be one of the most used sires in the Simmental breed this past year. If you’ve seen him, you can’t help but love him. He’s the kind of bull to build a program around.
Owned with Rocking P, Red River Farms & Circle M Farms
Private Stock will sell as much semen as perhaps any Simmental bull in the breed this year, for one reason, people like his calves. He can be used on heifers and cows alike. The numbers match the bull and represent the form and function from top to bottom. He’s quality, he’s consistent, and that’s what matters to all of our bottom dollars.
Private Stock is big footed all the way around, no funky toes. Big scrotaled, for those in this business for the long run you know how important that is. His granddam and dam are good uddered, productive females that keep their flesh and have the eye appeal, dimension, and look that demands a premium. Every female on the bottom side for generations has worn purple under the bright lights from Louisville to Denver. When you talk to the Phillips family, they will tell you this cow family has done for them what 066 has done for ours. They make cattlemen’s cattle. Read that again, they aren’t just fluff females that win shows, they are the kind that you want to replicate. USE
Lover Boy, I don’t think any of us realized the ride he would take us on. He is the go-to calving ease sire in the Simmental breed, they come easy, they grow, and they look the part. He makes the kind of cattle that hit your replacement pen, turn out his sons as herd bulls, and make future donors. Good cattle make good cattle and he is no exception. His daughters and sons have been sale highlights across the country, he has been used on some of the best donors the industry has, and he’s made high dollar cattle.
It is pretty amazing when a first calf heifer’s calf can stand in
SEXED FEMALE AVAILABLE
the winner’s circle wearing purple but even better than that is when that female comes into the calving pen, good uddered, good footed, solid made, and can lay down and have her own calf. Lover Boy daughters have substance, they are quality cattle and they will make you as good of a set of females and bulls as any in this book. They have stood as supreme champions in more shows than one and they will stand in the donor pens.
It is refreshing to have a calving ease bull with this much quality. You have all seen the top donors in many programs flushed to Lover Boy, he’s more than a calving ease sire. Don’t just breed for calving ease, breed for quality.
We have always paid attention to the things that make cattlemen money upfront. CRLS Guardian has a huge spread with a -2.4 BW to a 149 YW while still being in the top 3% for marbling, 3% for $API and top 2% for $TI, and a trait-leader across the board in every measurable number. Guardian is one of the top number bulls in the entire Nation, watch his video; he’s not a glorified-numbered Angus, he has MUSCLE, power, and look. The Simmental breed was meant to add power to your cow base; you shouldn’t have to compromise if you want to use a bull with an impeccable genetic profile.
TSN Simmentals in South Dakota sold a Guardian son to Werning Cattle for $37,000. Guardian is a mature bull; there is no fluff to
him. He is huge-footed; with solid, good toes that point where they should; bone, substance, and powerfully made.
The way the numbers read he ought to make you one heck of a set of replacements, and the steers will feed like a dream. He has proven he can make bulls that demand a premium on a consistent basis.
We have long said the cattle need to match the numbers. This bull does just that. We take a lot of pride in the fact that we bring highdollar bulls to your program. Everyone can use them — not just an elite few. This is a bull that can change your numbers in one mating.
AVAILABLE TO CANADA
Griswold Cattle is a seedstock operation but we see all aspects of the industry. We raise females, we produce bulls and we feed cattle in the feedlot, no one ever said a steer that hung a good carcass had to be ugly. We have hand selected, hand picked, and hand plucked those bulls that have the numbers but maintain that look, maternal, and power that we not only like, we demand. It’s more than numbers, it’s about common sense. “Maternal is more than milk, carcass means more than marbling, and performance means more than just pounds weaned” We have selected for the whole picture, the cow base and the numbers, if those two can’t coincide then we have a huge problem within this industry.
Griswold Cattle thinks far too often the female that goes back into the herd is left behind, the part that makes them money for the long haul. We are all about the end result of good beef on consumer plates but with the profit margins so small for the cowmen and women themselves those traits that bring profit to your bank account are what we care about and select for first and foremost. Griswold Cattle is always about the entire picture, you’ll be pleased when you view the “number” bulls in this lineup, they come from cow families bred deep with maternal quality, the numbers are a plus. Your cow base will always come first, you have our word to never deviate from that.
winc right all
All Right daughters are in their first year of production and if you used him right out of the gate you are reaping the benefits of easy fleshing, BEAUTIFUL uddered, productive females that you wish you had 100 of. The cattle have grow, they have power, and they have look.
All Right is an outlier in every facet of this industry. Our one requirement at Griswold Cattle is that the real-world data and visual appraisal match the cattle. We had the opportunity to buy a full sister to All Rights dam before we even knew the bull existed She is the right kind: good udder, good feet, good-looking, the kind you want in the donor pen. She hails from the great Kappes Sadie T365 that has proven time and again that she consistently makes the sale-toppers, and consistency is key to profitability. After we had bought All Right the opportunity came up to buy his dam, we jumped, they are the kind of cattle that moves a program forward and both females stand in our donor battery, if that doesn’t say how much we think of this great sire I don’t know what will.
All Right is a curve-bender, a cow-maker. He has proven genetics, a balanced genetic profile, and he’s the kind to take your program to the next level. You will not be disappointed.
You can guess on the value of a bull but until there is progeny on the ground you never know their true worth. On the Run has proven this past year that he will be a sire to reckon with for years to come. The cattle are good, they are the right size, the right kind, they come out good and everyday you have them you like them more. The way his numbers read he is set to make easy keeping, good doing females, those are the kind that stick around in a program. On The Run can make show cattle but more importantly he makes good cattle. We have seen him used across the country in almost every state in the Nation and every kind of program you can imagine, the consensus is the same, the cattle are the right kind and those who used him last year on sample will use him heavily on repeat. No matter what facet of the industry you are in, this is the kind of bull that will flat out work. Foot size, power throughout, head shape, and that eye catching correctness that demands attention, On the Run has it all.

A bull that has the potential to leave a huge impact on the Simmental breed. His dam is the picture of what you wish every cow you owned looked like, huge bodied, easy fleshing, and beautiful uddered, truly the front pasture kind that you enjoy just looking at. Stock Market was G293’s natural calf, he was always cockier than everyone else, always just a tick stouter, and always commanded attention. He was lot 101 in our Grass to Grid Bull Sale and his tremendous maternal brother was ot 102. G293 time and again has made high sellers, females that have the look and design and bulls that are burly, stout made, masculine, with all the eye appeal and quality you could want. This very well could be the very best Simmental bull ever raised at Griswold Cattle, a bold statement for a bold individual.

As Robbie VanHove put it, “there HAS NEVER been a purebred Simmental bull that is this flexible, loose spined, with a neck that can reach to the nosebleed seats”. Opportunities like this come around about as often as the marrying type. You don’t even know how much I like this bull! We already have a large sample of incredibly hairy, soft legged, soggy bodied replacement females that will WITHOUT A DOUBT leave their impact on the club calf and purebred industries alike.” The one thing we know, Broker flat out made amazing cows, and we’ve been on the hunt for a son to take the ole man’s place, boys and girls, climb on board! That sums up the bull about as perfect as anything we can say. Calves are now sprinkled across the country including at the G-, the best bull we raised this past year that is in this book is a Wallstreet son and you will see more of them in the future.
His semen will continue to be rare and hard to find, and we guarantee it will continue to increase in value as the consistency and potency of Bet on Red continues across the Nation. The one bit of advice we have to offer, it doesn’t make you any money sitting in the tank, put it in, use it, they are the program changing kind.
Losing Bet On Red was perhaps as great of a shock to our program as any we have felt, he was fixing to have his best year selling semen, he was proven, not only in weaned calves, but sale toppers, show winners, and bred heifers that were made and produced like you expected cattle to produce. He was a sire that could make both heifers and bulls and you liked both, femininity in his daughters, ruggedness, power, and look in his bulls. Not every bull can do that but Bet on Red was worth throwing the dice on because he performed time and again. It’s easy to say there has never been a red bull before him that has produced like he has.
Four shots of the 8543U line up two on top, two on bottom to create a unique line-breeding result to as great of a cow as you could possibly make. We’ve seen it done in the Angus world with Ohlde genetics and you know the potency of one shot of that, seldom have I seen it done in the Simmy world and especially not on a female like her.
Off the Record, he has all the power, top and bottom of his pedigree. When you lay your own eyes on him you can see he will write a story all his own. An outlier in terms of head quality, eye appeal, body shape, and mobility. He has the potency to change a cow in one generation. Off the Record is perfect to cross with those baldy or chromed up cows to take white away.
We have got messages from customers who are pumped about the mass and power of their Off the Record calves. You haven’t heard the last of this bull.

Before the loss of Bet on Red we knew that Genoa would rival his sire in producing the right kind of cattle, you take the lineup of 8543U line bred and add a dose of the great Boots, the sky was the limit and Genoa proved he can reach it. The calves are consistent, powerful, and the right look all while having plenty of grow, foot, bone, and the design it takes to get noticed in a pen of 2 or a pen of 100.
Genoa fills in his step, and phenotypically you cannot make one any better. When you analyze what the cow families top and bottom have done in terms of genetic improvement within the Simmental industry, you simply can’t find a hole. The two best cows in the Simmental breed are wrapped up in his pedigree. Udder structure, rib, pelvic width, dimension, and just the flat out front pasture kind. We bank at Genoa, Nebraska. It’s where we trust our money, and that says a lot about his name. His brothers are on these pages, his sisters are in the show runs and donor pens. This is a line of cattle that are consistently as good as we have ever had the privilege to own.

The consistency of SAM and Boots is bred deep into this pedigrees. Bold Move has as many sisters in the donor pen as any cow family we own, they produce, their daughters produce, they hailed from consistency and they pass it down through the generations. If you are breeding for cattle that have the hip, shape, power and look that you thought was lost, use a cane of Bold Move, he is the kind to change a program, to make donors and replacements, with the masculinity and performance to produce herd bulls.
I was once told if you love a cow, replicate her through her sons. Bold Move is the kind of bull that can do just that. He is a game changer combining two of the most influential purebred animals not only in our program but the entire Simmental breed. With the passing of both Boots and SAM this is a pedigree that brings their legacy together in one productive, functional, and powerful made individual.
One of the most underutilized bulls in our lineup for making the record selling high-dollar bred heifers and the kind of cow base that makes your neighbors mouth water is New California. This summer we drove through his set of cows that he cleaned up last year, every heifer calf you stopped to squint at the tag and see what was written at the top was a New Cali.
The County O and Loaded Up daughters were and still are a valuable asset. You love the structure, the udders, the doability and the stayability. I promise if you used these bulls and New California on a set of Angus based females you would have a set to top any sale across the nation. They are the practical kind of cattle that makes this industry go round. Confidence runs high in New California for good reason, they are flat out good cattle. We stand behind the power, the legacy and the next generation of what New California can do.
CHASE THIS
HOC BROKER
The power of Boots is evident in the number of bulls that are on these pages, the cream that has risen to the top, not once but multiple times. Our donor battery is deep in sisters to these bulls, and they are the cattle that pay the bills, make sale toppers, and replacement females to take our program forward. Chase this carries the potency and power of Boots with a double dose of Broker top and bottom, the bull that made as many donors, as many winners, and top end cattle as any bull within the Simmental industry.
Chase This got his own set of cows this past year and as the calves hit the ground, we are as confident in this upcoming sire as we have ever been.
His mother was always just a little “too much” in the show ring. You know the kind. The one they call a donor because she’s powerful made, big bodied, has muscle, shape, and you just fall in love with. The one that gets beat by the elegant, flat made kind.
It’s okay, we aren’t bitter because those are the kind that make herd bulls. They make donors and they are the kind we LOVE!
The Richards family has used Mastermind extensively in their program, the cattle are flat out good, consistent, the perfect size, with the look and design that brings buyers to the table. Mastermind was my favorite bull we raised the year we sold him, it wouldn’t matter where he called home, you would dare send him to the most astute cattleman anywhere in the country and he would have been well received. He went just where he needed to and Bret Richards has made sure to prove that Mastermind has just what it takes to influence a cow base for the better!
JSUL SOMETHING ABOUT MARY 8421 MAKER
potential of SAM had not yet been met, he needed to be cloned. At 605, the comment was made, “that if you didn’t know who the clone was, you would still use him just because of how hard he hit you when you step in the pen.”
As we sort through our replacement heifers, picture for the bull sale, and watch our new calves hitting the ground it is evident the influence that SAM will have on our program for years to come. The cattle are good, good enough that when we found out we were going to lose SAM as partners, all of us as owners quickly realized that the
We can honestly say that SAM is hands down the most consistent sire we have ever used in our program. He works on an array of cattle, and he makes those sale topping kind. It’s not just winning shows, it’s the fact they are good cattle, there are no culls, no sorry bottom end, just consistently solid cattle, regardless of if you own a purebred cow base or you are just trying to improve a great set of commercial cows. He will go down in history as one of the greatest changers the Simmental breed has known.

Of anything profitable we have found in our program, it would be the consistent females. Those that do not miss, that make good ones no matter how they are crossed. This was one of the final matings we had on Boots before we lost her. Good Times, the bull that has proven himself time and again in the Angus world just moved into the elite circle of Simmentals. Elite pedigree with an elite individual, and in enters Next Generation.
Good Times x Boots, 1/2 blood Simmental, from two pedigrees in our program that have never settled for mediocre. Feet, bone, structure, dimension and look all combined with proven consistency. He comes out true and high on the top side of his shoulder, while maintaining the right angle to his shoulder and transitioning that back into a huge robust center body, all with a perfect hip and hind leg design. A full sister to him lead off the open division of the Classic, this is a powerful pedigree jump on for the Next Generation.
LIVIN the DREAM
If there was one bull that highlighted the Classic open division this past year it was Livin the Dream. He has proven himself to be a power maker. His progeny is stout, they have bone, muscle, and shape
Livin the Dream’s cow family runs deep in good cattle, with the consistency to make the sale topping kind. The Total Recall x Whiskey daughter sold out of the Classic to the elite cowman Jim Cowan for $30,000. Wayne and Barb have a program, a marriage, and a cow base we all admire.
Wayne called John and said, “This is the best bull Barb and I have ever raised.”. If you know Wayne and Barb, you know they have raised more than a few elite bulls. That is a bold statement, but Living the Dream is bold made. That list of people grew. When people like Keith Lambright, Schaeffer & Tice, and Kent Jaecke say we need it on a bull, we sit down and listen.
Owned with Maple Lane Farms, Schaeffer/Tice & Ohlrichs
Before John and I were ever a thing, I brought my dad to the Exposure, I wanted him to see it. There was a heifer there, GCC Sioux Steel 151W that was the best heifer at the sale, a large statement. I stood in her pen and tried to figure out with Dale Schilff how to buy her. She was a little out of our price range and we passed on her. After we were married that heifer went on to win the percentage show at the 2011 National Western. She had her fair share of banners, and wore plenty of purple before becoming a high profile donor. We haven’t discussed her in years, until a Boy Named Sioux came into the picture.
PEDIGREE MATTERS, CONSISTENCY MATTERS, MATERNAL MATTERS, all of it passes down through the generations. Big legged, big topped, big scrotaled, the right size frame, and the look, power, and design to work on a variety of females. He was Reserve National Champion % Simmental Bull Cattlmen’s Congress and NWSS 2026. Don’t forget his name is Sioux, he’s worth being in your lineup for this coming year.
RELIEF
“Mittens” a household name at Griswold’s, we don’t have a child who couldn’t tell you who she was. She is contention as one of the most elite daughters of the famous Boots. She produced Matilada aka “Jazz Hands” who won Denver in 2022. In the 2024 Classic, a pair of sisters by SAM were Lots 101 and 101X, fetching $50,000 and $70,000, her progeny have consistently been at the top of the pen and although she hailed from Boots she had a story that was all her own. She produced GCC Mastermind that sold to Brett Richards and whose picture can be found in the pages of this book and she has outdone herself once again in producing Relief. No matter how she was crossed she flat out worked and this may be one of her best matings yet.

RECKONING
If there is one bull everyone has thought twice about this past season and regretted not using more of it would be Reckoning. The progeny out of him are the top of the pen kind, they have shape, power, and design, they are correct and good looking, and if you look at some of the top programs in the Nation they have figured out that he’s the kind that works with multiple pedigrees and on all different kind of cows.
When you lay eyes on Reckoning as a big mature bull you will fall in love. He is big footed, big scrotaled, big topped, and he will make you turn around and look twice! Use him for power, use him for consistency, to make better cattle in the show ring but first and foremost in the pasture.
Reckoning has more potential right now than he has his entire life, people just dibbled in breeding to him as a young bull, the more progeny that come out front and center the more people realize they better grab a cane and use it.

When we bought into Vegas he was just the kind of bull we knew the industry needed. He has a ruggedness about him, he’s huge footed, with solid feet, good toes, that point the way they should, long bodied, masculine, just the kind of bull you are drawn to when you look out over a group of cows. We had him at 605 but he went home every summer to breed cows in big open pasture cow country of Canada.
If you were at the Classic last year or got a chance to see him in Denver, you saw him in living color, big footed, big scrotaled, big ribbed, big topped and just plain flat out powerfully made and the kind that says female maker all over.
Sired by Casino and out of the beautiful Coleman Dixie Erica 3372, Riverstone VEGAS 49H is the real deal. He is a OUTCROSS pedigree to most of today’s angus females. Some of the greatest cowmen in the business are in on Vegas. He produced the Grand and Reserve Champion bulls at the National Western this year, they had power, substance, and design that goes out and covers cows. He works across the board on every type of cow you can set up to breed to him, he is the consistency we are proud to offer.
STAG GOOD TIMES 201 ET
Owned with Prairie View Farms, May Cattle & Stagemeyer Cattle
Good Times proved this last year that he is the king in the Angus arena of making cattle that have that extra look, extra dose of good, extra dose of special. His son’s and daughter have been highlighted across the country, they have topped sales, won shows and proven there is a level of consistency that is difficult to replicate. If you saw him at the stud you fell in love with him. His dam was Reserve Division at Louisville and 4th overall as a calf at Aksarben, many time breed champ and swept her fair share of jackpots. That’s sweet but the best part is she is proving that she is a wicked donor cow that will produce the great ones every time.
Good Times not only replicates his great dam, but he also takes it to an entirely new level. Breed him to Angus, or cross him, he’ll work. He not only makes them good, but he also makes the kind that sell high.

If you paid attention to any online selling platforms last fall, you know New Heights progeny have swept the nation. Combine that with one of the one of best cows in the nation, and in comes High Tide!
His dam Nord Lucy was Supreme Champion Junior Heifer at the American Royal in 2019, Reserve Angus Female in both the NWSS Open and Junior Shows, and Reserve at the Junior Nationals for the Stagemeyer family, huge accomplishments in perhaps the most difficult and competitive breed in the industry. She hails from the famous 1125 who is known for making cookie cutter females with that extra look, power, and quality. Nord Lucy is the ideal size. , Nord’s are from North Dakota where cattle must be real world, they have to be able to withstand the elements and be practical.
BURLY, big boned, stout made and big hipped with the muscle and shape different from so many of the Angus bulls on the market! Step up to one of our newest Angus additions, Challenger. His dam was Supreme Champion Female MN Beef Expo and is proving herself in the donor pen as much as she did in the showring. A maternal sister to Challenger just brought $29,000 this spring. Backed by phenomenal cow power and the extra body, dimension, and power this is one bull to use on all those flat made cows that need a dose of umph.
CHALLENGER
There will be more than one person that will tell you this is the best son of the great Sara’s Dream 5116. She herself will go down as one of the most phenotypically dominant females to ever grace the showring in the Angus industry. 5116 has been unmatched for passing down her good looks of poise and power through her progeny and Paisley is no exception. Bold in his design, a solid foot, plenty of bone, width, and dimension all while having the power you want and the structural soundness that you demand. Supreme Champion Bull at the American Royal. Barry Nowaske told John this was one in one of the top three animals he has ever raised or worked on in his entire career, that is a large statement from someone who has worked on the elite! Full brother to BNWZ Dignity and BNWZ Executive Decision.
Take it back to the ranch, back to the cow base, the real-world cattleman who don’t primp but still love quality, love eye appeal, love balance, love power and demand performance. Styles Reset, he’s real world, he’s masculine, he’s out of an awesome, practical, big, bodied female, from the practical and real-world Style’s ranch right smack dab in the middle of real-world ranch country in South Dakota. Reset is an outcross to anything the show ring can throw at you right now, plus he has muscle shape and mass. Reset is cool enough that Schafer/Tice jumped in because they knew he’d dang sure make show cattle, we loved him most because we knew he’d make real world cattle, it is time for those two worlds to collide and get back to the basics of functionality in the show ring, Reset does just that.
A bull that has real world merit, ideal feet and structure, the hair, presence and quality with no First Class, Style, Insight, 24 Karat in his pedigree…..well it’s time to chase the anomaly and hit RESET!

MATERNAL POWER BULLS
Maternal matters, power matters, consistency, longevity, shape and design. It’s the attention to detail that sets apart a regular set of cows and one that demands a premium. That detail is our never ending quest for quality. We are focused on not following a fad, the pasture tells the truth. How cattle perform in a real world environment, we work day in and day out to produce real world genetics that can work if you live on the California Coast line, the high desert, or the prairies of South Dakota. Functionality comes first and foremost. The “right kind of Angus” cattle are what made Whiskey famous, they are what brought Steel Force to the top. Good Angus cattle are perfect to keep just that, pure Angus, but when the right kind of cow is used as a foundation in a crossbred breeding program the sky's the limit. They add that extra dose of all you need in your cow base. This set of Angus bulls we have searched the Nation for, bred for, and selected. We use them at home and they are the foundation of our cow base. Experience the Griswold Angus difference, you won’t regret it.
argentine
Argentine sons topped our bull sale this past spring with a $16,000 average, they went to some of the most elite programs in the Nation. “You cannot beat him for making cows.” Big bodied, beautiful uddered, solid made Angus females. We calved a whole set of them, we sold a beautiful set of them, they are elite, they are stunning, they are the right kind all day long. Argentine is a bull that you can breed across the board to a variety of cattle and get consistency, and power.
Argentine is a complete outcross to all the genetics in the states backed by a program that has focused on quality and consistency with cow families’ generations deep, the La Rubeta. Rubeta Fontana 7367-TE, is known as “Tank,” she is as powerful as any female you will find ANYPLACE, rib, shape, dimension, and

the beauty you only find with complete balance. His sire, Don Aparicio Serrucho 57, was the Grand Champion Bull in 2015 at the world-famous Palermo Angus show, a show where the whole Nation comes together and real-world cattle are judged for substance, thickness, and real-world traits.
No matter how you use him, we promise you will love him. Use him on Angus, use him on Simmentals, Maines, just use him, you won’t regret it.
POWER BULLS
BLAIRS
You will not find a beef bull like this, he has more power, more mass, more dimension, than any Angus bull we have ever seen, literally. We have seen him used on Angus and love them and we have seen him used on Simmental cattle and flat-out work. He will work on any breed to add functionality, depth, and a whole lot of power.
His dam stands as the hottest cow in the industry, burn that number, 74A into your brain and then watch out, pay attention, and acquire those genetics! If you want to replicate a cow, breed to her son, it’s the quickest and most economical way there is to get to where you want to be going with your cow base. 74A won Agribition, she brought a truckload of money but was worth every cent proving her value wasn’t on the end of a lead it was in
the donor pen, she is a production powerhouse. Her picture is at the bottom of this page and if you do a google search you can pull up a video. You could not draw a prettier udder with perfect front and rear udder attachment, perfect sized teats all on a broody made, wedgy female any better than what hit this earth when 74A came on the scene. She has made her mark across the globe.
Now let’s talk External Law, you’ve seen him, you’ve seen his picture, his progeny, and you know you have been waiting to use him, DON’T WAIT. If you want power, mass, and all that should go with it this is a bull you need to not just have in your tank, you need to have babies hitting the ground next spring! He is the consistency you’ve been looking for, don’t miss him this breeding season, if you’ve got 5 or 500 out in the pasture, use External Law.

John called me from the pens when he was sorting for our Grass to Grid bull sale and said we had one of the best Angus bulls he had seen in a long time, that’s a large statement from John Griswol. John didn’t know at the time what he had but he knew he was one of the most elite Angus he had ever seen, then he figured out the pedigree, and it all went up from there. A son of Argentine out of the legendary Donna 5247, who topped the 2022 Coleman Angus Production sale at $200K for one-half interest to Kelly Farms of Michigan. 5247 has been one of the most highly sought after donors in the entire industry generating over $1 million in progeny sales, including four promotional sires while she was at Coleman’s. The cow power and predictability behind Secret’s Out are truly unmatched.
You have the pedigree, now study the bull. He’s not primped for a picture; he’s wearing the same mud as all the bulls he had been with all winter. He’s flat-out good cattle, in his working clothes or all dressed up. Mass and body that is unmatched and a rear leg and thickness through his top. This is the kind of bull to make a cow base, regardless of if you are making Angus cattle or crossbreds, THIS IS THE BASE MAKER. You can have power and still have a bull and females that get out and move, Captivate proves it. Let's get back to the real world, shorten the distance between the show ring and functional commercial or even papered Angus cattle. Put the substance back in! This is a power bull, he is made of red meat and muscle with a pedigree that is known for cow power, good feet, and great udders. He pedigree reads some of the top cattle and bulls in the industry that have consistently produced quality and lined with the reputable cow programs in the Nation. Nostalgia is the cowman’s kind; he will make an awesome set of females and big burly bulls with red meat and substance.
NEW EDITION
Many things can be said about New Edition but perhaps the most important is that he produces the kind of cattle that you will keep in your cow base. If you were to ask me one bull to use on 200 head of cows to consistently change them to uniform, easy doing, good looking, and productive females your chances are pretty dang good that New Edition would be the bull of choice.
You cannot beat his daughters, beautiful udders, productive, eye catching, and easy doing. He’s made as many great herd sires and donors as about any bull in the breed. Breed to mature cows only.
JUST RIGHT
Do yourself a favor and put in a cane of Just Right this year. If you breed your heifers to him, it will be one of the best decisions you will make both for your view and your pocketbook. When you would walk up the bull alley at Stillwater you could see Just Right standing in his run, you could tell it was him from a mile away. He was a dead-on carbon copy to his picture. You can’t truly appreciate this bull until you have seen his daughters in production. PERFECT udders and teat quality, with a look that is consistently stamped out pretty. He stands as one of the most influential sires in our lineup. Just Right pops up a lot on the bottom side of our pedigree’s, they are some of our favorite and most powerful cows.
Bellringer, makes the ideal female. His bulls are stout, powerful, masculine, with the performance you demand while not being great big cattle. They have performance, they have look, they are the kind that you will hold onto. We are flushing our top donors at Griswold Cattle to him this spring. They are the kind of cattle we strive to produce.
I don’t want the flat one’s, the ones that come with a set of numbers but leave out the importance of the cow. I don’t just want the packer to be the one who gets a premium, if I am going to take the time to try and improve my cow base, I want to do just that. I want good udders, longevity, eye appeal, I want power, a big foot, big top, and some rib, shape, and dimension, I want it all because those things are what makes up my bottom dollar, if the numbers are good, well that’s a bonus! I want the cowman’s kind, and Bell Ringer is just that.

It’s easy to get color blind on both sides of the aisle, from pedigree, to numbers, to performance, to look. Depending on what makes your program and your world go round and pays your bills we would all list those in a different order of importance. At the end of the day, we would argue that good cattle are good cattle. They need to be the kind that will work in different environments, and different programs, and the bottom line, they need to be the kind of cattle that make you a PROFIT. PERIOD. This isn’t just a side hustle, or hobby, this is your life.
We like good cattle at the G-, we strive for a certain type and kind. We got a phone call about a bull that looked like a Gold Standard but had numbers that if you were a number guru you were going to be pumped about, sure ya have. But John knew Cory Thomsen knew enough about what a great one was supposed to look like that he needed to get on his way to South Dakota. When John saw Bipartisan, he called me and said “Jeannie, this is your kind of bull. He’s a soft made, stout, big footed female maker.”
If you like cattle with eye appeal, this is a bull you need to use. If you like cattle with numbers, this is a bull you need to use.
CalvingEase
First calf heifers are something everyone in the business knows that getting a nice small calf has so many advantages. You have a live calf, that gets up and sucks (if they don’t do those two things, does anything else matter?), a first calf heifer that will breed back quicker because she’s had no trauma, and you get a replacement female that is a great cow with calving ease bred into her pedigree. That said, you don’t have to be breeding your heifers to a bull just because he is easy calving, they can and should be marketable after they are born. Vigor, live calves, eye appeal, and maternal, it’s not a one day thing. If it’s the steer calves that cross the scales, the heifer calves that stay in your program, or the next great marketable bull you, those first calf heifers need to be able to make you a profit from that first calf and we have a lineup of calving ease bulls that has the ability to do just that!

Breed for calving east first and foremost on those first heifers but breed for cow power! The first Night Watch calves came 100% unassisted and were immediately up and sucking with extreme vigor.
Night Watch is a sure shot calving ease son of Coleman Bravo 6313, he has a +22 CED, you read that right, with a -4.9 birthweight EPD. Don’t let that fool you, he’s made with plenty of red meat, dimension, and good looks. His sisters will blow you out of the water, broody made, perfect uddered, productive front pasture kind of cattle that stand in the donor pen. Think broody made, good footed, good legged, and good looking.
The dam to Night Watch is a maternal sister to the great Coleman Bravo and as many high dollar, prolific producers as any cow family the Angus world has to offer, the great Coleman Donna 714 cow family the female that the entire Coleman cow base is built around. When we talk about cow power this is it, breeding for calving ease without sacrificing your cow base. Those first calf heifers are a direct way for you to increase your maternal power, for you to make replacement heifers, for you to make herd bulls, for you to make a profit!
Coleman Donna 4203, the dam, has a progeny production record of BR 3@93, WR 3@104, YR 3@107. This is production, maternal sibs have led off the bull and female sales.
Calving ease with cow power, it’s something to hang your hat on! We calved out a full set of Angus heifers sired by our Angus calving ease bulls including Night Watch, we did not touch ONE. Ten minutes from water bag and feet to having a calf on the ground and ten minutes from birth you had a live calf up, getting ready to nurse. That is the way Mother Nature intended it and we cannot recommend Night Watch any more than that!

Relax is a bull that Cory Thomsen called us on, “This is one you need to own.” Relax looks calving ease, he’s small headed with the right shape, shoulder shape and build that you’d want to breed your heifers to. His pedigree is deep in maternal oriented genetics. Tim Schaffer is who bought Perfect Timing, his stamp of approval goes a long way. Relax has a great set of feet and legs, he’s tall fronted, long necked, and good looking. Chestnut Angus is longtime Angus breeders that know how cattle should look, and how they should perform, we love doing business with people who believe in cow family’s generations deep and don’t waver from their commitment to great cattle. We are cow family gurus around here; it’s the secret to consistency. John saw this bull and loved him but his pedigree, specifically the cow families GENERATIONS DEEP sealed the deal, then the fact that he is calving ease deluxe put the extra stamp of approval on him. Now we love pedigree’s because we love figuring out why cattle are so good, but let’s talk about the bull himself. We are going to start at the front and move on back. Study the makeup of this bull’s head, you can tell a lot about him just by that. He has a presence about him that screams female maker. His neck comes out high on his shoulder and he’s good fronted, good bodied, with rib, shape, and dimension, he has the muscle pattern and design to make females and has a 38 scrotal. All of that is awesome but the part that attracted us the most to Unreal was the fact that he, his dam, and his sire looked the part, and were visually analyzed for all the things that make producers profitable. Belmont is the bull that the Maine breed needs, he is functional, powerful, and comes from a female that isn’t just a fluff ball, she’s a powerhouse, baked by generations of donors and powerful made individuals. Belmont is a Data Bank x B571 (Hard Whiskey) she hails from the great 673R, a direct daughter of OCC 816B a full sister to OCC Emblazon the arguably the greatest cow family to ever walk. I could write volumes. Take the time to go to our website and watch her video, it speaks for itself. B571 has as much volume, overall power, mass, and dimension as you could possibly put in a female, she simply has not ever missed, not once, every calf she has made has been the right kind, she clicks no matter how she is crossed. A Garth daughter brought $26,000 to Cleve Clark and won just about every major in Texas, her $10,000 flushmate went to Florida to Shenefield family and has been supreme heifer at over 18 jackpots and won every place she has gone. A full sib to Belmont brought $17,000 and a Garth brother sold for $9,000. His full sister brought $35,000 as lot 101 to Lambright and Thwaits. This is a full list of progeny sold. If I could replicate her a thousand times over I would, that’s just how much we all love this cow. Belmont’s full sister is the ideal female regardless of breed, perfect uddered, good footed, depth, capacity and stunningly beautiful.
Belmont has stood out from the time that he was little, he had the bone, mass, and power you wish you could put into every calf. He hits his stride right on and does it in a powerful made package. The calves are on the ground, they have that look, time will tell but right now we are pumped. This is a bull that literally has the potential to sire those females that still have the look and soundness you want but keep the power and sire the male counterparts that deserve to be left bulls.

If there is one way to say how excited, we are on Belmont it is wrapped up in Mission Statement. Stacked with quality and a pedigree that reads flat out predictability and consistency. The maternal power of this pedigree is unmatched combining B571 with what we consider one of the very best Garth x Boston daughters we have ever raised, that is a bold statement with full sisters to 444J averaging over $100,000 in past Classics.
From the time he was born Mission Statement has stood out, he has the bone, muscle and pure mass that as producers we demand. The amount of muscle, power and turn to his top is incredible, with a big, square hip and mass from behind. He stands on four solid made, toes pointing the right way, all toes the same size, feet, solid feet, he is big scrotaled, correct made. Black Tie is out of the only FULL sister to Belmont. 461G is a past Lot 101 from the Classic that sold to Maple Lane and Thwaits. To be lot 101 is huge simply because of the earning potential we know they have and Black Tie has once again proven that this cow family makes the elite.
Black Tie is arguably the very best Maine bull that we have ever raised! He is powerful enough to put muscle back into these show heifers that we all want to raise while making them easier keeping, and he still has that look and presence you need to stay competitive in the show ring. We took Black Tie to Denver and Fort Worth, where he was named Champion High Maine bull at both events and was highly sought after by many, being praised for his look, structure and ability to transmit power with real-world muscle and hip shape back into the breed. Add to all of that he is big scrotaled, and PERFECT footed, there isn’t enough to say other than use him, he’s the kind.

Cory Thomsen called and said he had seen a bull at Congress that was built differently, that was powerful, masculine, and still maintained plenty of look. That was at about 8:30 AM on a Sunday morning and after church we were headed to OKC with a trailer to pick him up. DJC Yolo on the bottom side was Champion at Louisville, Denver, Fort Worth and Supreme at OYE, both generations since have worn the color purple but as important as that they make good cattle. Reality Check is just that, bringing power to the breed, bringing masculinity, bringing consistency.

If you follow the Pulse and you stay caught up on the happenings of shows there is one bull you would be hard pressed to miss, his name shows up often and his daughters not only like the color purple they wear it well! Data Bank, the bull you better be willing to reckon with in and out of the show ring in the Maine Anjou breed.
No I-80, no Ali and he works awesome on those pedigree’s! Data Bank hails from some of the greatest cow families in the breed who have shown their power in the show ring but most importantly in the pasture. In an era when the search for a purebred Maine option has been somewhat limited, Data Bank is the answer. He is awesome footed, smooth jointed and is athletic as you can make a mature bull. His daughters are in production, good udders, and attractive females. Our lot 101 in the 2020 Classic was a Data Bank, that’s a pretty big deal around here. Sale toppers, showstoppers, and plenty of online shoppers, do your homework, he’s a bull that if you are in the business of turning a profit you need to be using.
GAME
on
Bring on the power and bring on the good this is a bull that if you haven’t used you need to. The calves are as consistently good as any high Maine bull in the industry. Game On brings power back to the game in making females that are full of dimension and style while still having the red muscle and design that made Maines famous to begin with, the bulls look like bulls should, stout, big bodied and real.
When I was buying heifers in Canada 30 years ago, they would run them down the alley at you several at a time. It didn’t take long to figure out you could tell a lot by just looking at their head, especially when you were trying to sort 80 out of 800. Game On has the type of head that I like, it was one of the first things that I noticed about him, it’s the kind you find on good cattle, and he has all the right parts from his head on back.
Purple is in his pedigree. His dam has produced National Champions that have won everything from Denver to Fort Worth. That power carries on down. 15 head of heifers averaged $15,683 in Jirl Buck’s sale.

In walks Reflection, he’s bold made, big topped, baldy faced and flat out SWEET, consistency is key in this game, if you want cattle that have that “extra look” and the proven cow power on the bottom side you better look long and hard.

BLACKLABEL
THE MAINE-ANGUS
Since he was young, he has been a standout around the ranch, always admired for his foot and leg quality, soundness of structure and his overwhelming amount of power, muscle and body shape. He combines all of this in an extremely attrac-tive, incredibly balanced package, and I have no doubt that he has a bright future producing next level replace-ment type females.
His Angus dam was one of the best donors we ever owned and one that just clicked with anything you mated her to. In the Classic alone, four daughters of 847E, all by different sires, averaged an incredible $32,000, with one being a full sister to this bull at $46,000. There is no denying the power and predict-ability this guy brings to the table.

We always get a lot of calls on people wanting us to buy bulls, we had more calls on awesome Garth son’s than any bull we owned last year. GCC SAFETY PLAN
AMAA 539577 | BREED 5/8 MAINE | ACT BW 79

Safety Plan on his own merit is the kind of bull you fall in love with when you walk in the pen, bold ribbed, big footed, on a solid foot and the one you go back to time and again, then you look in his ear and realize there is a reason he’s put together like he is. His dam is the great 5066, who stands as one of the most influential donors we have ever owned and he himself is a full sib to Boston. His story begins generations before in Wisconsin, a family set out to raise good cattle, they came with Joe, his family a truckload of dreams to Oklahoma where John would end up with 066, with little knowledge of how that one line of cattle generational all the way back to his fathers, fathers would influence his life and change our program.
The power of a cow family is something that goes down through the generations and breeds through her son’s. Spot on is out one of the most beautiful On the Mark daughters you could make. He has proven over the past few years to make great cattle time and again. He should be used with more caution than some of the other bulls in our calving ease lineup but know the end result is well worth the little extra time you give those first calvers.
When you watch him move, he’s got the foot size, the base width and dimension that as producers you can’t help but love. He offers a completely different approach to your calving ease lineup. He’s bold and he’s exciting, he’s Spot On!
Easy Does It! One thing is for sure, if John’s going to let a bull into our battery he better be good looking and an outlier for his breed. Easy Does It has a new age look with a pedigree that has proven to be as potent as any. His mother is an Epic daughter that traces back to the famed 0084 Bismarck of PVF and was successfully campaigned in Iowa by Scout Lock. The anticipation of what his mother can do moving forward is high. What makes Easy Does It so unique for a High Maine is how soft made and big ribbed he is, yet for a calving ease sire he’s square and has true muscle shape and dimension.
If you had a chance to see him in Denver this year you couldn’t help but love the base width, extra rib shape, and dimension Easy Does has. He’s real-world cattle.
MADE maternal
We still have the same consensus on the Maternal Mades, they are good. We have used him heavily in our program to breed with and to flush with. His daughters have proven across the country that their true calling in life was in the pasture and the donor pen. The most elite cattle sold in the last few years have had a large percentage that wore Maternal Made on the bottom side of their pedigree. Steer producers across the country have flocked to Maternal Made daughters, for one reason, they work. You see him in the purebred circle, his name is not only recognizable, it is sought after. This is a pedigree that many years from now will stand as one of the greatest bulls the industry has known. Breed to mature cows but then make sure to keep them as mature cows.

His dam, Dotty from the famed Thomas Ranch has been a major donor, she was a national champion as a pair and supreme female at the ever-competitive South Dakota state fair. As her first daughters have hit production it’s clear that good looks and consistency run in the family. Dotty is perfect uddered, good footed, and designed how a cow should be for longevity and productivity. Cool Dot had the same competitive nature as his dam, he was Reserve in Louisville and won his Division at OKC and Denver. He has never had his feet touched and every toe points the right way, is the right size, and hits the ground where they should. He is TA FREE which is huge in the Charolais world right now. One daughter brought $90,000 and was Reserve in Denver as a heifer, RJ sold one for $38,500 for half, and another for $54,000.
This bull is one that has traveled under the radar, working cows in commercial cow country, he needs used. We jumped off a cliff and bought our first four Charolais donors, the first bull we flushed to was Cool Dot. Jump on board.
