EDITORIAL GAY RIGHTS & ACCEPTANCE by Terry Keenan
A
s we remember the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York on June 28th 1969, maybe the time has come to consider what has been achieved to date. First and foremost, with a dozen or so countries now passing laws which allow Gay Marriage, this is a huge step forward. However, in terms of overall acceptance in our every day lives, perhaps we are still some way from being fully respected and accepted as being equal. You have only to look at the UK and French governments´ attempts at passing the law to realise that it is still an emotive issue that divides both elected politicians and the population at large. The recent attacks by right wing activists on gay men demonstrating peacefully in France and Russia resulting in loss of life is giving huge cause for concern. We should all remember that whilst enjoying the Eurovision song contest on TV, and marvelling at the audience apparently displaying ‘togetherness’, it should be understood that in many former Balkan and Eastern European countries, it is still a criminal offence to be gay! Also in many other countries worldwide, the authorities are withholding basic human rights to its citizens. So, perhaps we should all reflect and thank our lucky stars that we are living in a country and a town that respects and encourages equality for all its residents. Sitges also recognises the huge contribution that the pink euro makes to the local economy and most of all listens to the views of the Gay Sitges Link Association and its members on a range of important issues.

l conmemorar una vez más el aniversario de los disturbios del Stonewall en Nueva York el 28 de Junio de 1969, llega el momento de analizar lo que se ha conseguido hasta hoy. Lo primero de todo, ya es un gran avance que una docena de países tengan o estén aprobando leyes para legalizar el matrimonio gay. Sin embargo, en terminos de aceptación en nuestras vidas diarias tal vez todavía estemos lejos de ser respetados y aceptados como iguales. Solamente hay que ver los intentos de Inglaterra y Francia de aprobar la ley para darse cuenta de que es una cuestión emotiva que divide a políticos y a la población. Los recientes ataques de radicales de derechas a gays manifestándose pacíficamente en Francia y Rusia, resultando en pérdidas de vida humanas da motivos suficientes de preocupación. Deberíamos recordar que mientras que disfrutamos del Festival de Eurovisión y nos maravillamos de la audiencia mostrando gestos de “unidad”, no deberíamos olvidar que muchos países de los Balcanes y del Este de Europa el ser gay sigue siendo un crimen. Y en muchos otros países alrededor del mundo las autoridades estan infringiendo los derechos humanos de sus habitantes. Por tanto, todos deberíamos reflexionar y agradecer nuestra fortuna de estar viviendo en un país y en un pueblo que respeta y promociona la igualdad para todos sus residentes. Sitges también reconoce la gran contribución que el “euro rosa” hace a la economía local, y sobre todo escucha las opiniones de Gay Sitges Link y de sus socios en una gran variedad de asuntos.

iero is Italian in origin and British by adoption. Piero adores glamour, chic things, melodrama which he finds in the Opera – of which he is an ardent admirer, but also Piero loves simplicity, he carries light luggage (but only Vuitton, of course) and he finds this combination in Sitges. Piero came to Sitges for the first time in the Spring of 1871 and he remembers his trilogy of the Picnic beach, drinks in the Mesón and dinners at the Santa María. Of these times he remembers the sensation of personal security which has been lost nowadays. Of his times working at the London Savoy Hotel his appreciation of “savoir faire” has remained with him as well as the elegance of an international élite. It was not in vain that he worked where Oscar Wilde and Lord Douglas resided, amongst many other famous personalities and this leaves a stamp on everyone. Piero has fine irony and a wonderful sense of humour – a mixture of English influences and a Machivellian Italian inheritance. His half smile, like that of Mona Lisa, leaves no-one indifferent. Like a character from his adored opera, parodying Violeta, he says “Amami Sitges”. As in Cosi Fan Tutte, with Piero melodrama does not come free. Thank you Piero – Si non e vero e ben trovato!

iero es un italiano de orígen y británico de adopción. Piero adora el glamour, lo chic, el melodrama que encuentra en la Ópera, de la cual es ferviente admirador, pero también Piero ama la sencillez, va ligero de equipaje (eso sí, solo Vuitton), y encuentra en Sitges esta combinación. Piero llegó a Sitges por primera vez en 1871 y recuerda su trilogía de playa en el Picnic, copas en el Mesón y cenas en el Santa María. De esa época recuerda la sensación de seguridad, perdida hoy en día. De su paso trabajando por el hotel Savoy de Londres le quedó su aprecio por el “savoir faire” y elegancia de una élite internacional. No en vano trabajó donde residió Oscar Wilde y Lord Douglas, entre tantos otros famosos y eso marca a cualquiera. Piero tiene una fina ironía y un gran sentido del humor - mezcla de su influencia inglesa y una herencia maquiavélica italiana. Su media sonrisa, tipo Mona Lisa, no deja indiferente a nadie. Como un personaje de su adorada ópera, parodiando a Violeta, él dice “Amami Sitges”. Como Cosi Fan Tutte, en Piero el melodrama no es gratuito. Gracias Piero - ¡Si non e vero e ben trovato!

is in discussion with the Town Hall to get it moved – once restored – to a more central and dignified location in town.

l día 17 de Mayo varios socios de Gay Sitges Link, además del enlace de la comunidad con los Mossos d’Esquadra, Adam García, y otros amigos y colegas se juntaron delante del monumento del Triángulo en el espigón en frente del restaurante Kansas para celebrar el Dia Mundial Contra la Homofobia. En su discurso, Jordi Griset destacó el mal estado del Triángulo y el hecho de que está colocado en un sitio de muy difícil acceso. El Comité de GSL está de acuerdo con Jordi y está haciendo trámites con el Ayuntamiento para la recolocación del monumento - restaurado - a un sitio más céntrico y más digno del pueblo.

U
nder the leadership of Bill Carney, one of our GSL members, a group of around 20 men and women came together at the beginning of the year and ‘Sitges Canta!’ was born. Many of our members also form part of the choir. They performed their debut public concert on May 17th to a packed audience in the Palau Maricel. Singing a very varied programme, they sang quite beautifully to the delight of everyone. They also repeated part of the same programme at the first birthday celebration of the Sitges Park Residence the next day. We all now eagerly await their next concert. If you have a good singing voice, why not contact them via their Facebook page – ‘Sitges Canta’ for an audition?

Muchos de nuestros socios también forman parte de la coral. Debutaron con un lleno total en el Palau Maricel en un recital público el 17 de Mayo.

gsl news - noticias de gsl GSL Summer BBQ - June 9th In spite of threatening weather, over 70 members and friends of Gay Sitges Link braved the conditions to attend the annual summer BBQ, held this year at the Sitges Rugby Club.It was a huge success socially, with members having a great time getting to know each other better. There was the usual raffle and we were also treated to singing by ‘Los Romanticones’ & dance by Wayne McKnight & Co, who appropriately chose ‘Getting to Know You’ from ‘The King & I’ as his demonstration number. Luckily, the rain just about held off. In the end we collected over 400€ from raffle tickets and the sale of Peter Lumb’s marmalade. Congratulations to Bill, Ross and their volunteers’ team for organising such a great event!
Barbacoa de Verano GSL – 9 de Junio A pesar del tiempo amenazador, más de 70 socios y amigos de Gay Sitges Link se aventuraron a atender la Barbacoa de Verano anual, que este año se celebró en el Club de Rugby de Sitges. El evento fue un gran éxito desde el punto de vista social, ya que era el entorno ideal para que todos se conocieran mejor. Se hizo una rifa benéfica además de la actuación musical de ‘Los Romanticones’ y baile a cargo de Wayne McKnight & Co, que con acierto escogió la canción “Getting to Know You” del musical “El Rey y Yo” como su número de demonstración. Por fortuna, la lluvia al final aguantó. Al terminar el evento se recaudaron 400€ entre la rifa y las mermeladas caseras de Peter Lumb. ¡Felicidades a Bill, Ross y su equipo de voluntarios por organizar tan estupendo evento!

Cabaret Restaurant
After months of preparation, Dick & Arjan finally opened their new premises on May 23rd in spectacular fashion. It is an alternative to their hugely popular Music Bar and shares the ‘foyer type’ entrance. The Cabaret Restaurant hosts dinner shows on Fridays & Saturdays ( advance booking recommended ) plus a Tapas menu mid-week. There are also Sunday shows by Kumas, formerly seen in El Candil, starting at 20.00h. During week-days, the restaurant opens at 20.30h and provides a relaxing ‘chill-out’ atmosphere for dining. We wish them the best of luck with their new enterprise.

Their aim is to create an alternative bar with a bit more comfort, very affordable drinks and earlier openings times from 7 pm daily. With background music that allows conversation, they hope it will appeal to all ages who want to chill out. Go and try for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. Es un proyecto colaborativo entre Chris, Ian y Mark, a los que muchos conoceréis anteriormente de Ruby’s. Su objetivo es crear un bar alternativo más cómodo, bebidas a precios muy asequibles y apertura de puertas temprana a partir de las 7pm. Con música de fondo para permitir la conversación, esperan atraer a gente de todas las edades que buscan relajarse. Anímate y pruébalo, ¡No te defraudará!

El Restaurant Cabaret ofrece cenas-espectáculo los Viernes y Sábados (se recomienda reservar con antelación) y un menú de tapas entre-semana. Los Domingos por la tarde a las 20:00h se presenta el show Kumas, visto antes en bar El Candil. For anyone living alone, someone with a chronic illness ( e.g. diabetes ) or single folk of a certain age, you can obtain a ‘panic alarm button’ linked to an emergency call centre. This is usually worn on the wrist or round the neck to call for medical help in case of life threatening situations in the home. The Sitges Red Cross ( Cruz Roja ) ( Tel. 93 894 02 66 ) offer this device either to rent of buy. It provides a lifeline to those who feel particularly vulnerable.

Alison Jiear is somebody very special. Originally from Brisbane Australia, she came to the UK in 1987 with a singing group called ‘The Fabulous Singlettes’. They took London’s West End by storm with their show ‘Stop in the Name of Love’. Later on, she appeared solo in several hit musicals until she landed the lead role in the musical ‘Jerry Springer..The Opera’ which earned her an ‘Olivier’ nomination for Best Actress. Her extrovert personality, strong but lyrical voice was put to good use with the hit song ‘I Just Wanna F*****g Dance’ which propelled her to gay icon status worldwide. She also appeared in the recently acclaimed film version of ‘Les Miserables’.
Alison Jiear es alguien muy especial. Nacida en Brisbane, Australia, llegó a Inglaterra con un grupo musical femenino llamado “Las Fabulosas Singlettes”. Arrasaron en el West End londinense con su espectáculo “Stop in the Name of Love”. Más tarde actuará en solitario en muchos musicales hasta que le llegó el papel protagonista en “Jerry Springer – La Opera” con la que ganó una nominación a los Olivier (los Oscar del teatro) como Mejor Actriz. Alison has been coming to Sitges for two seasons now, having been initially invited by her friends Stephen & Wayne, owners of ‘El Piano’, to perform in their bar. She has come to love the town very much, something that is reciprocated by her many friends and fans alike. She returns as often as her many other commitments allow, usually for 5 days per month during the summer. She adores the ‘Calipolis’ beach and in her words ‘ loves to see the gorgeous guys in their tight bathers’. When eating out, her favourite restaurants are ‘Al Fresco’ and ‘Beach House’ where she connects with the Australian owners. She mainly stays in the Galeon Hotel where she feels able to relax and unwind. When home in Hertfordshire, she is an adoring wife and mother to her two sons (Micky & Nathaniel). You are always lovingly welcome in Sitges, Alison !
Alison lleva viniendo a Sitges dos temporadas, tras ser invitada por sus amigos Stephen y Wayne, dueños de El Piano, para que actuara en su bar. Desde entonces es una enamorada del pueblo, amor que es devuelto por sus muchos amigos y fans de aquí. Vuelve a Sitges siempre que tiene un hueco libre, normalmente 5 días al mes durante el verano.Le encanta la playa del Calipolis y, en sus propias palabras, “Me encanta ver a los magníficos chicos en sus apretados trajes de baño”. Cuando sale a comer, sus restaurantes favoritos son “Al Fresco” y “Beach House”, en donde conecta con sus propietarios australianos. Normalmente se hospeda en el Hotel Galeón en donde se siente a gusto para relajarse. Cuando vuelve a su casa de Hertfordshire, se convierte de nuevo en dedicada esposa y madre de sus dos hijos (Micky y Nathaniel). ¡Alison, siempre serás bienvenida a Sitges!

BEING TESTED FOR HIV IN SITGES
las pruebas. Nos comenta que se empezó como experiencia piloto hace 5 años en 36 farmacias de 25 poblaciones de Cataluña. Esta experiencia duró un año. Entonces la Generalitat decidió normalizar la prueba, pero la falta de fondos impidió generalizarlo a todas las farmacias, por lo que solo la hacen las que formaron parte de la experiencia piloto. Al principio la prueba era gratuita, pero a partir del 1/01/2013 tiene un coste contributivo de 10€.

ew people know that you can obtain an HIV blood test at Farmacia Benazet, c/. Cami Capellans 25 with the result in a few minutes. It is the only chemist in Sitges to offer this ‘walk in’ service which is totally private and confidential. In an interview with Sr Xavi Benazet, pharmacist who administers the blood test himself, we were told that he was part of a 12-month pilot scheme introduced 5 years ago involving 36 chemists in 26 towns/cities in Cataluña. Afterwards, the Local Government wanted to extend the scheme to all chemists in the region, but it wasn’t possible, due to the lack of funds, so only the original chemists carried on doing it. Initially, the tests were free of charge. However, since 1st January 2013, the patient has to make a contribution of €10.
El número de personas que se hace la prueba en Sitges varía dependiendo de la publicidad y de los eventos. Por ejemplo, el número incrementa en las fechas cercanas al Día Mundial Del Sida (1 de Diciembre), en verano y en Carnaval.
Sr Xavi concluded that there is no substitute to safe sex, particularly with multiple partners or unknown ‘one night stands’. Although this sounds logical, he is still amazed that the vast majority of people still don’t take basic precautions. The number of people requesting this test varies depending on the amount of publicity and certain events. Numbers generally increase around World Aids Day (December 1st.), during the summer and Carnival.Amongst those individuals electing to be tested, there is almost an even split of 50% homosexual, 50% heterosexual. Of the heterosexuals tested, most fall within the age groups 20-25 years old and 40-50 years old. With homosexuals, the ages are more diverse.

If one suspects/remembers an ‘unprotected’ encounter, it is important to stress that you must wait for 90 days before doing the test. It is what is known as “window period”.

LA PRUEBA DE HIV EN SITGES oca gente sabe que la Farmacia Benazet (c/ Camí Capellans 25) es el único lugar en Sitges de momento donde se puede hacer la prueba del HIV, de forma anónima y confidencial, con resultados en 5 minutos.
Otras estadísticas interesantes: en Sitges hay una division del 50% entre heterosexuales y homosexuales que se hacen la prueba. Entre personas heterosexuales se distinguen dos franjas de edad: entre 20-25 años y entre 4050 años. En el caso de homosexuales no hay franja de edad definida. Si se sospecha de una fecha de contagio específica, es importante recordar que hay que esperar 90 días antes de realizar la prueba. Es lo que se conoce como periodoventana. Xavi nos termina diciendo que la mejor herramienta contra el HIV es practicar el sexo seguro, en especial con desconocidos. Parece lógico, pero hoy en día él sigue sorprendido por la cantidad de gente que no toma precauciones básicas.Si estás interesado en hacerte la prueba puedes concertar cita en la farmacia o en el teléfono 93 894 13 31. Déjà Vu
itges doesn’t go unnoticed, it is a rollercoaster in a big amusment park. It has the footprint marks of many piligrims who have by/ por Ananda Victoria stepped on it. It is a witness, not the main character. It is frozen in time. It is a mixture of the elegant 50’s and 60’s , the rebelious 70’s, the outof control and arty 80’s and the surge of the new generations born under the “fast food” culture. Each place is a different landscape. Each corner keeps an experience of something that has marked us. It provokes a constant déjà vu when walking along the streets, this sensation of having existed in a previous life when, in reality, it is the same life but divided into different journeys. Some corners, some people, the bars, a street or a beach bring to our mind memories of the past. These moments that we have lived, possibly with joy or with pain or with lust are like a shelter. It produces nostalgia on each visit. It has songs etched from Freddy Mercury to Eurythmics, from Pet Shop Boys to Madonna in all her re-incarnations. Sitges has a special flavour, a surreal world or the promised land for some, but it always turns out to be a time machine. This is why your existence here today will produce in the future a déjà vu of something you yourself have left marked in the past.

itges no pasa desapercibida, es una montaña rusa en un gran parque de diversiones. Tiene tatuada las huellas de muchos peregrinos que la han caminado. Es testigo, no protagonista. Está detenida en el tiempo. Es una mezcla de la elegancia de los ´50 y de los ´60, de la rebeldía de los 70, del descontrol y del arte de los ´80, y del auge de las nuevas generaciones nacidas del “fast food”. Cada lugar es un paisaje diferente. Cada rincón guarda una vivencia de algo importante que nos ha marcado. Provoca un constante déjà vu cuando se pasea por sus calles, esa sensación de haberlo vivido en otras vidas, que es en realidad esta misma, pero dividida en diferentes viajes. Alguna esquina, algunas personas, los bares, una calle o una playa en particular traen a nuestra mente los recuerdos de un pasado; esos momentos que hemos vivido posiblemente con alegría o con dolor, con desenfreno o como refugio. Siempre huele a nostalgia en cada visita. Tiene impregnada canciones desde Freddie Mercury hasta Eurythmics, desde Pet Shop boys hasta Madonna en todas sus versiones. Sitges tiene un sabor especial, para algunos un mundo surrealista o la tierra prometida de los deseos, pero siempre termina siendo un viaje en la máquina del tiempo. Porque eso que vives hoy aquí, en el futuro te provocará indudablemente un déjà vu de algo que tú mismo has dejado marcado en el pasado.

T
he last time I went to a lesbian party I took my wife and my daughter along. We were together for a while but then my daughter had to go to bed because it was late. The night carried on, and when most of the guests had drunk enough to loosen their tongues, some girls approached me to talk about their own experience of being mothers. I realized that it is not an easy decision for many lesbians to make, so I told them of my own personal experience. It is the most beautiful thing that can happen to you, and life is never the same again after you become a MOTHER. Everything changes, your lifestyle in particular. It is not just about YOURSELVES any more, quite the opposite, everything has to be measured and calculated for your child’s benefit. “That is horrible” some girls say, “I don’t want to give up going to parties, I don’t want the screams, cries, etc…”. So I reply: everything in life has a PRICE. You will need to become tolerant, generous, patient, have a thousand eyes, get up at night and then up again very early and stop going out (well, for a while)… But believe me, all you do for your child will never feel enough and this motherly talent will flow like magic when you have that little human being in your arms.

a última vez que estuve en un evento lésbico me acompañaron mi mujer y mi hija. Estuvimos un rato juntas, pero luego mi hija debía irse a la cama porque era tarde. Transcurrió la noche y, cuando la mayoría ya habían bebido un par de copas para soltarse, algunas chicas se acercaron a mí para hablar de su propia situación de ser madres. Me di cuenta de que no es tan evidente para muchas lesbianas dar el paso, a todas les dije lo mismo: es lo más lindo que te puede pasar, y la vida ya no es la misma desde el momento en que una es MADRE. Todo cambia, sobre todo el ritmo de vida. Ya no es UNA SOLA. Al contrario, todo se debe calcular y medir en beneficio de tu hijo. “Es horrible” me dicen algunas, “no quiero dejar de salir de fiesta, no quiero oír gritos, ni llantos etc...” a lo que les contesté “todo en esta vida tiene su PRECIO”. Deberás ser tolerante, generosa, paciente, tener mil ojos, levantarte por las noches y luego muy temprano, privarte de salir (durante un tiempo)... pero créanme, todo lo que hagas por tu hijo te parecerá poco y ese talento materno fluirá como magia cuando tengas ese pequeño ser entre tus brazos.

omán Quintana came to Sitges for the very first time in 2009. “Somebody told us it was a nice place”, according to Román’s partner, Andrew Gray. Indeed, they liked the place so much that two months later they returned to stay. Román, originally from Caracas in Venezuela, worked in various bars over the following years … Queenz, El Horno and what used to be Bourbon’s. With the Sitges night-time experience under his belt, he decided to take the plunge and take over what used to be the popular Orek’s bar in the now very busy Carrer Bonaire. Román’s decision to take over the bar was made, in part, thinking of the future of his 19 year-old son who is one of the three young South American bar staff working at Union. The name “Union” was chosen because Román wants the place to attract people of all ages and nationalities to get together here. What used to be one long bar is now divided into two separate bar areas with the first bar as you enter enjoying a quieter level of music for those who want to chat and admire those dancing next to the long bar to the sound of modern, pop and chill out-music, and musical videos, with a DJ playing on weekends. Union is open 7 days a week from 10.30pm onwards, the prices are reasonable (small beer 3€; mixed spirits, 6€), and their summer activity embraces an Amateur Stripper Night, a Latin Gay Party, a Neon Party, a Mojito and Caipirinha Night. omán Quintana vino a Sitges por primera vez en 2009. “Alguien nos comentó que era un sitio bonito” dice Andrew Gray, la pareja de Román. Efectivamente, les gustó tanto que dos meses más tarde volvieron para quedarse. Román, originario de Caracas, Venezuela, trabajó en varios bares durante los siguientes años: Queenz, El Horno y en el antiguo Bourbon’s. Con la experiencia acumulada de este trabajo nocturno en Sitges, Román decidió lanzarse cogiendo el antiguo Oreks en la popular calle Bonaire. La decisión de Román de comprar el bar fue en parte pensando en el futuro de su hijo de 19 años, quien forma parte del personal de 3 camareros sudamericanos que trabajan en Unión. El nombre “Union” fue elegido porque Román quiere que su local atraiga a personas de todas las edades y nacionalidades. Lo que antes era una barra larga ahora está dividida en dos barras separadas, la primera - al entrar – ofrece música más tranquila para los clientes que quieren conversar mientras admiran a la gente bailando al ritmo de música moderna, pop y chill-out con vídeos musicales, y un DJ los fines de semana. Union está abierto los 7 días de la semana a partir de las 22.30h. his lovely restaurant began life seven years ago from what was previously just a cafeteria. Having a prime position by the promenade, and with a very large external terrace facing the sea, it took off immediately. It has become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. The name derives from the founder of the family business who was the father of the present owner. From day one, the philosophy has been to offer the best quality food and preparation at an honest price, something that still holds true in these difficult times. They have always offered a set lunch, however since two years ago they went one better by offering their ‘a la carte’ menu to create two types of set meals. Monday to Friday 3 course lunches for €14 and at other times €19.90 evenings and week-ends. They also offer a daily buffet brunch from 8-00 am – 12-00 pm priced at €14. The menu presents a wide choice of Mediterranean cuisine, with an accent on rice dishes. Head Chef Jose Manuel Escobar has many years experience in the business, whilst the Floor Manager Jaume Solera has been ‘front of house’ from the beginning. ‘Paco’ usually takes responsibility for the breakfast and brunch.The menu is changed three times a year according to the season and the restaurant is open all year round, except in November.

Sin embargo, hace dos años mejoraron su propuesta y convirtieron su carta completa para ofrecer dos tipos de menú: uno de Lunes a Viernes al mediodía por 14€, y otro para noches y fines de semana por 19,90€. Tambien ofrecen un buffet brunch diario de 8am a 12pm por 14€. El menú presenta una gran variedad de cocina mediterránea, pero con un acento especial en los arrocces. El jefe de cocina Jose Manuel Escobar tiene muchos años de experiencia en el negocio y el jefe de sala Jaume Solera ha sido el encargado del restaurante desde el comienzo. Por último, Paco se responsabiliza de los desyunos y del brunch. El menú cambia tres veces por año de acuerdo con la estación y el restaurante está abierto todo el año excepto en Noviembre. e all know that Sitges loves its dogs, so the town is lucky in having one of the most respected canine professionals, both in Spain and abroad, as well as an exclusive boutique to pamper our pooches. Julian Oliva has worked in Sitges since 2004, but he has been in the profession for over 35 years, with long experience in both dog showing and canine groom teaching. In January 2011, together with his partner Sergi Nogueras, they opened their first shop: “The Grooming Parlor” in c/ Sant Damiá. Soon the premises felt too small and in February 2013 they moved with great success to c/ Bonaventura 16 and changed the name to “Julian Oliva Perruquería Canina”, where Julian does the dog grooming and Sergi is in charge of attending the shop. Here you will find everything: accessories, clothing, collars, etc. all with a touch of glamour – many of their articles incorporate the rainbow colours so you can accessorize your pet with “pride”. In his dog grooming service, Julian focuses on working stress-free and is always looking for the best result based on

Todos sabemos que Sitges adora a sus perros, por lo que el pueblo está de suerte en contar con uno de los profesionales más reconocidos en el ámbito canino tanto dentro como fuera de España y de una boutique exclusiva para mimar a nuestras mascotas. Julian Oliva ejerce en Sitges desde el 2004, pero lleva trabajando más de 35 años en el sector, con una larga trayectoria tanto en competiciones como en su labor de enseñanza de la peluquería canina. FIRST GAY FRENCH WEDDING Vincent Autin (40) and Bruno Boileau (30) got married in May in Montpellier, the first ever wedding of a homosexual couple in France, even though the wedding took place with a strong police presence, given the recent homophobic demonstrations in Paris and other French cities. This first gay wedding in France took place eleven days after the coming into law of “marriage for everyone”, one of the principal promises in the campaign of the socialist President of France, François Hollande.
