PROJECT BRIEF

This Urban Design studio focuses on architectural design within the context of Mysuru, a city rich in cultural, spatial, and historical layers. The studio emphasizes the exploration of architecture informed by the city's prevailing urban conditions, integrating these elements into the design process. Students will develop projects that respond both programmatically and spatially to the immediate surroundings while engaging with the broader public realm. The goal is to create architecture that reflects and enhances the dynamic relationship between Mysuru's evolving urban fabric and its enduring cultural heritage.

PROJECT BRIEF

This studio focuses on small scale businesses within the context of Hassan, emphasizing the need for architectural designs that are both climate responsive and functionally efficient. The approach to sustainability explores material consumption and the use of structural systems with replaceable elements, ensuring long-term adaptability and resource efficiency.

The goal is to create buildings that meet user needs while minimizing environmental impact through thoughtful design and material choices.

Site visits and studies were made to understand the process of coffee curing, methods, mechanisms, and stakeholders required to run the industry.
