Types Of Plug Gauges Plug gauges are of four types: Metric thread gauges It is a combination of two testing types that is plug gauges are used for checking the internal threads and ring gauges for checking external threads.
UN Thread Gauges These gauges are having unifies constant pitch and are available in maximum sizes.
ACME Thread gauges These gauges have 29-degrees thread angles with pitch double the size of thread height and crest and peaks are flat. ACME thread plug gauges are used for measuring the internal threads, and ACME thread ring gauges are used for measuring the external threads.
UNS Thread gauges Unified special (UNS) pitch thread gauges are not always readily available in the market. Sometimes they have to be built only on receiving the orders.
