Goodbye My Brother We have lost a great person and mentor in Courtney Tito Halowell this past month. I personally met this great man about 15 years ago I believe at the Mini Truckin Nationals in Pigeon Forge. I was just starting out as a freelancer and was shooting coverage for Chevy Trucks magazine. Every time we were at the same show, he treated me as a long lost friend. I truly don t think he ever met a stranger any where he went. I ve never heard a bad word about him. Everyone always had good things to say or great stories to tell about Courtney. I enjoyed the Golf Cart derbies at Indy Truck Bash year after year. But the one story I remember the most was the year that Steve, Brian and Courtney started Street Trucks and it was Truck Bash weekend. I had been trying to get something going with Street Trucks for several months and I thought I d put Courtney on the spot. He kept dodging me all day Saturday, but that evening at Bewley s Body Works Open House it all changed. I was chillin with Latest Craze and out of the blue a Negative Camber member handed me a bottle of Parrot Bay rum and said Courtney said to take a shot of this I denied and went back to talking to Latest Craze. Next thing I know Courtney taps me on the shoulder, shoves the bottle in my chest and says If you don t hit this, you re a P%&Y . So I took the bottle, tipped it up and next thing I hear is cheering. I open my eyes and it s about gone, so I finished it and slammed it in Courtney s chest and said Here s your F&&$%^G P&%$Y and he smiled and moved on. The party moved across the street and shots started getting bought for me then him. Once we both finally showed up at the show Sunday around noon he handed me a list of names and numbers of trucks he wanted me to shoot. Courtney, you will be missed by many who loved you as a brother and friend. Thanks for the memories kind sir. RIP On the cover this month we are highlighting a monthly feature that we feel just does not get talked about enough around here.. Ohio Based Photographer Nick Means has been sending us some really hot shots every month of beautiful bikini models with bad ass cars.. We call this section Nicks Body Shop and we can guarantee you that there is no dust on the floors of this shop. I thought I d tell you a little background on this month s Gauge Girl Gretchen and her Business Spotlight. I had located Gretchen via web about shooting with Gauge Magazine and she was more than delighted. After talking to her a few times she mentioned she had a Barber Shop that she d like to incorporate in the shoot. First thought was, what? After checking it out the day of the shoot, it was not what I thought by any means. The shop was set up as an old upscale Barber shop with racing décor covering the walls though out. They cater to the Hot Rodders, Drag Racers and everyone else that just needs a haircut.
