JD/MBA Dual Degree Program Earn two world-class degrees in only three years.

The UK JD/MBA is a cutting-edge program that is only offered by a few law and business schools in the country, which awards both the Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. Separately, obtaining a JD and an MBA would take you four and one-half to five years.

This program provides the shortest time to earn both degrees, resulting in significant cost savings for students.

It’s no secret that many aspects of business and law are compatible and interrelated. That’s why this unique dual program was designed so that each program of study reinforces the instruction and experience obtained in the other. Plus, students in the One Year Accelerated MBA program will gain real world experience through our integrated internship program, Project Connect. Students will come away from the program highly marketable, equipped with the unique skillset to pursue specialized, blended careers in law and management.

JD/MBA Dual Degree Program Gain marketable skills in less time and with a smaller financial investment.

To earn the JD and MBA degrees under the dual degree program, you must receive a total of 71 credit hours of work in the College of Law, and either 27 or 38 credit hours of work in the College of Business and Economics, depending upon whether you enroll in the One Year Accelerated or the Two Year Professional Evening MBA program.

Dual Degree Program with One Year Accelerated MBA Year 1: 30 credit hours of required Law courses Year 2: 35 credit hours of MBA courses and eight credit hours of

Law courses Year 3: 3 hours of MBA courses and 33 hours of Law courses

Dual Degree Program with Two Year Professional Evening MBA Year 1: 30 credit hours of required Law courses.

Year 2: 12 credit hours of required MBA courses, and

20-21 hours of Law courses.

Year 3: 15 credit hours of required MBA courses;

20-21 hours of Law courses.

The MBA Admissions Committee may elect to waive the GMAT/GRE requirement for students accepted/ enrolled at UK Law. Students are required to take the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) for consideration into the program.
