Dungarpur Rajasthan
SITE AREA: 1600 SQ, M PROGRAMME: Primary school for a small village named Dungarpur is located in Rajasthan. The school is designed in the suburb of the village to take care of the needs of 240 students from 1st to 8th standard. The site has a natural contour of 2m and a main road on the side that connects the two villages. MATERIAL: Stone

CONCEPT AND MODULE EXPLORATION The concept was to create a lively shaded street that reminds each student of their village street where they feel at home. All the functions open up on this main street which further connects the square and acts as a gathering space for children.

The module is staggered in a way that the ground floor’s terrace work as a corridor for the upper floor and the classrooms are also indirectly connected. The vault extends out and creates a shade to avoid harsh sunlight.

SITE AREA: 25000 SQ, M (FSI: 2.5) APP. 500 HOUSES PROGRAMME: Low-cost housing in the Bapu Nagar area of Ahmedabad which is near the old city area. The site is just next to a lake called Malek Saban lake which is a place of refreshment for people living nearby. On one side there is a major road connecting the site to a small market while the backside road connects the site to the lake. MATERIAL: Concrete and Brick

CONCEPT AND MODULE EXPLORATION The concept was to create a place that allows maximum interaction between people and which also connects them to the water body. The step housing allows all level of interaction.

CLUSTER PLAN AND MODEL One of the cluster is an 11 story building with a spacious corridor connecting all 4 houses with a staircase in between. There are overlooking balconies on all four sides which allows more interaction in the community. The upper floors have a double heightened balcony providing the residents with a better experience and view from the top.

Pergola in open garden spaces allows people to sit and chat in the evening time while children play in the common garden.
Overlooking a balcony at a different level in all directions makes interaction easy for people even at height.
A paved walkway along the road makes it easy for a pedestrian to walk around the place. The street also remains shaded from the shadow of the building.

Bhidosa Madhya Pradesh
SITE AREA: 21000 SQ, M PROGRAMME: A small-scale sports center in a village named Bhidosa in Madhya Pradesh near Chambal Valley. A center was to be developed with a multigame hall where indoor games like basketball, badminton, and volleyball will be played. Other facilities are also provided for the institute. The site is on the outskirt of the village which has a contour ranging from -2m to 4m and an ample amount of existing small trees. Connection with nature
The basic concept was to make a plaza that welcomes the villagers and a complex which encourages sports. The building behind the green cover becomes a surprise element for the people. A flat roof in the area of mounts symbolizes the gesture of an athlete standing strong. Semi-open spaces for spectators to spectate the game protect them from the weather with a roof and still connect them to sports.

This house was constructed in the year 1970. The building comprises of three floors and a terrace.The house facade faces west which is the wind direction and so the house is well ventilated and cool throughout the day. The current owners bought and renovated this house in 2019.

The horizontal and vertical members of timber are joined by mortise and tenon and lap joints and stacked together to form a cage- like structure. The composite structure has load bearing shared walls. The owners renovated the house by changing the floor tiles, adding a modular kitchen platform , filling up the cracks and reapplication of colour on the walls.This gave the house a modern yet vintage feel to it.
