Gather ,Round, frie

My name is Rebecca. I wear a lot of hats around here, but I am most well-known as the founder of Gather 'Round Homeschool. This company was first an answer for my own family—as I struggled to keep up with all the subjects and all the grades and all the kids—but it has become a solution for so many others. We are a Kingdom-minded company first and foremost, and God isn't just a token word we say every once in a while . . . He is the author and driver of this whole movement.

When He first gave me the idea for this unique homeschool approach, with one topic connecting to all subjects and targeted for each grade level, I remember thinking that it was impossible. There were lots of unit studies out there, but none that were doing something on this scale. How on earth could we do it all? How could we reach a 5-year-old and not lose their 18-year-old

Over the years, I feel like I have come to that same precipice of impossibility over and over again. A brand new way of teaching math that is both mastery and spiral for K–grade 9 . . . how? Online classes that can capture the attention of both our youngest and oldest students . . . there's no way! For all the criticisms I receive, "unqualified" is the one that probably hits the hardest. Because the truth is, I am. I have no degrees on my wall and no backers, investors, or advisors standing behind me. I am no more than a second-generation homeschooler whose parents taught her that she could do anything. I am no more than a homeschool mom who wanted more for my own children. I am no more than a daughter of the King who received a call. More often than you could probably ever know, I have felt like what God has called me to is too big, too hard, too scary, or too much. But God.

I think that is a bit like our homeschool journey. We buy the lie that this is too much or that we are too unqualified. We forget that God is going behind and before us and think that we are alone. But all around you are people who bear this same burden, who are walking this same walk, and who are believing for something impossible.

We do this whole homeschool thing not just because we want our kids to have an amazing education, but because deep down we are burning for something extraordinary. We want to raise kids who will shift atmospheres and tear down strongholds. We want to raise Daniels and Esthers, Josephs and Jeremiahs . . . men and women who will stand when all else is crumbling around them. We want more than mere education; we want to disciple our children and equip them for such a time as this.
As my kids have grown up (some of the original Gather 'Round kids), we find ourselves on the edge of the nest, waiting to see who will leap first. For some reason, God has kept all my little nestlings close. They design your books, they package and ship your orders, they make me coffee and do my laundry so I can teach another class. For a little while longer, our family remains together—a testimony of this whole homeschool journey and a clarion call for others to find the courage to step out and do the same. This year we feel called to share more of our story on our YouTube channel, which I renamed @gatherroundfamily. If you need a little bit of inspiration along the way, come on over and find us. It might not be quite as good as meeting for a cup of coffee, but I hope it will speak life and hope (and yes, a whole lot of real) into your own home as you navigate this journey.
May the pages of this catalog breathe wonder and inspiration into your homeschool as you see a glimpse of something that isn't just another curriculum . . . it is unapologetically His.
From Him, through Him, and for Him,

WHAT IS GATHER , ROUND HOMESCHOOL?
UNIT STUDIES
Gather 'Round Homeschool is a unit study curriculum that teaches all subjects and all grades through a topic. The Teacher's Guide focuses on one particular topic of interest, while the student notebooks connect to that topic through all of the subjects. Math is the only subject that is sold separately (though it is included in our Letters + Numbers and Ready to Read programs).

OPEN-AND-GO

Everything we make here is open-and-go. There aren't a lot of required resources or supplies, and there is little to no lesson planning required! Anyone can hop in at any time to help (like dad or grandma), and it is very easy to get started.
DESIGNED FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

It may seem impossible to do all your subjects and all your grades together, but that is part of what makes this whole thing work! Instead of bouncing around between all your kids and all their subjects, you will be gathering, learning, discussing, and exploring God's incredible creation . . . together.

BEAUTIFUL AND MINIMALISTIC

Here at Gather 'Round, we don't do busy work. Every page is beautiful with custom watercolor illustrations and lots of white space. Every worksheet is intentional—with contextual learning that is actually retained. This is a program that is beautiful, Christ-centered, and actually works.
This curriculum is unlike anything else you will find out there. It includes everything you need, it is open-and-go, it is gentle and yet rich, it is a tool for those who are wanting something different than just school at home. Full U
Our main units contain 20 lessons and cover all subjects: social studies, science, history, language arts (reading, writing, spelling, and vocabulary), geography, art, Bible, and more. You can purchase any unit that you and your children are interested in, and each one is designed to last about a month. You do not have to follow any particular order, and you can do as many or as little as you like (most of our families average 8–10 units per year). Because you can select different student levels for each unit, you can teach all of your children together! You'll read the lesson from the Teacher's Guide as a group, and then each child will work in their own student notebook, which contains assignments that connect to their reading and academic level. A typical school day can range from 2–3 hours for lower levels and 4+ hours for middle and high school students.
There are no special supplies or lesson plans needed, and we have a free resource library full of suggested videos, booklists, optional supplies for activities, our scope and sequence, free certificates of completion, and more!

Mini Units
Our mini units are designed to be more focused about a particular topic. While they often incorporate multiple subjects, they are not as diverse nor as heavy as our full units. Some are a full 20 lessons, while others are shorter. All of our mini units have fewer student notebook pages and less writing than our full units, so they can be done when you need a break. They are also a great way to add a little extra to your homeschool day or meet your state or provincial requirements. If you're looking for a starting place, don't miss our Growing up with God series (one of our top sellers) or one of our holiday minis for a fun break!

I’ve led sooooo many advent devotions and reflections over the years. But this is my first year at home doing Advent and First Christmas with my own children. Rebecca’s writing in each is so beautiful. So touching. I’m making connections and praying in ways I never before have. And I’m so grateful.

I
just read through the Easter unit and oh my goodness! I’m so excited! It is so beautifully done and covers the topics in such easy to explain ways. I’ve looked for something like this for the last couple of years and haven’t found what I was looking for.
– BELLA

At first it was hard for me to only read one chapter a time. I wanted to fly through the book because it was so good and couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Then I learned to appreciate the slowness and the conversation around it and hearing what my kids thought about hard things and sad things and unimaginable things.

I used to teach US Government to high schoolers. Even for 16–18 year olds, learning all the grammar/vocabulary can be challenging. This unit is VERY well done! I can tell that this unit is truly preparing students in what they would be tested on in school. Great job, Rebecca!

First of all, our family is half Indigenous and half European descent, and I absolutely love that for the first time I have no need to interject or edit “on the fly” while reading a textbook because there are always multiple perspectives – MOLLY

nces + Territories Fifty States
Pack your bags and join us for a tour across the country right from your living room couch with our brand new Fifty States and Provinces and Territories series! These one-week studies are designed to cover all your subjects except math and are filled with beautiful illustrations, engaging activities, and fascinating facts about the people, places, history, geography, symbols, and culture that make each area unique. Whether you want to study your own region, explore neighboring ones, or build a complete collectible series over time, this is such a fun way to add meaningful learning to your homeschool year.

ONE WEEK PER STATE OR PROVINCE/TERRITORY
COVERS ALL YOUR SUBJECTS BUT MATH!
BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATIONS & HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES
ALL 50 STATES IN A COMPLETE, COLLECTIBLE SERIES

We are so excited about our brand-new geography series that will be releasing over the next two years. A new unit is being released every few weeks and they are organized into a regional color coding system, allowing you to purchase just your local study, your neighboring states or provinces, or even an entire region. As we complete various regions, we hope to add lapbooks as well. With 50 state units and 13 provinces and territories to release, this is a huge undertaking, and we have a number of teams who are devoted to making this happen! Units are being released alphabetically and though they are only 4 lessons (a week long), they include 5 pages per day in the student books, making them equivalent to a full-unit in output. This means that taking a break from a full unit or slipping them in between your regular school year schedule will give you a fun detour without sacrificing your workload or missing anything! If you're needing credits for economics, civics, US history, and more . . .
This series is perfect for helping to build a high school transcript!

Modular Math
Gather ’Round Math is a brand new concept that has never been tried before. With topical, leveled workbooks, it allows you the flexibility to make your own custom-tailored math program or use it as a remedial solution to help your student get caught up (whether you homeschool or not). Is your student struggling in multiplication but ahead when it comes to basic algebra? You can choose a higher level in one and a lower level in the other! We know that our kids are not one-size-fits-all . . . so why are we settling for math curriculum that is? Break out of the mold and try something that actually works! Easy to use, open-and-go, and no expensive manipulatives or Teacher’s Guides needed.

Trya free Sample!

Use as a full-year math program, a remedial catch-up, or a program to get ahead.
Complete one unit per month and just two workbook pages per day (though motivated students might move faster).

The beautiful, minimalistic, and simple magazine style prevents students from being overwhelmed.

No huge teacher’s manual or answer key. All teaching is written to the student and can be found right in the workbook! Answer keys are available to download digitally.

With custom-made placement tests and seven workbook levels, you are sure to find just the right fit for your student.

All workbook pages feature our signature grid, so students can practice keeping their work organized and lined up correctly.

Math comes alive with plenty of real-life scenarios and personal applications.
Every lesson points to Jesus and includes a Bible Break that relates to the concept being taught.

LIVE COURSES
If your kids are looking for live interaction, polls, quizzes, chats, and to feel like they are a part of something that is fun and engaging . . . our live classes are for you! Join hundreds of other students and let us do the Teacher's Guide for you! Classes last about an hour and have a daily challenge with a chance to win an Amazon gift card for a little extra motivation. Students are assigned "homework" in their student notebooks— keeping you in the driver's seat. It's parent-led, but with a little bit of backup.

ON-DEMAND COURSES
We have three different types of On-Demand video courses. First up is our live classes that have been professionally edited and organized. These classes are 30–45 minutes long and include extra videos for rabbit trails and the full Teacher's Guide lesson covered in one engaging video. Next up is our professionally recorded Ready to Read and Modular Math courses. These are in production this year and will cover the teaching for these incredible programs in bite-sized pieces that are fun to watch and keep your students going.
