The 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War was commemorated in Kalkaska, Michigan, with the Moving Wall’s return in 2018. The event was organized by the Kalkaskabased nonprofit Michigan Heritage & Research Foundation. The moving wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Photographer Bill O’Rourke, visited the memorial and captured these moving images of the visitors and the engraved names of those who served our country. People of all ages gathered at the wall to read the veteran names, find their family members, touch the wall, and take a moment of silence to express their gratitude for our freedom.
