DRUG POLICYTOBACCO, ALCOHOL
The intent of this policy is to discourage young people from making inappropriate choices regarding the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs in any and all forms. These substances, or use of these substances is prohibited on the Gatewood campus, in Gatewood vehicles, or at any school related activities at home or away.
Alcohol Policy
An offense is one wirer the student involved is: · Caught in the act of using or consuming alcohol · Obviously under the influence of alcohol · Directly possessing or supplying alcohol · Possessing, using or supplying alcohol proven through circumstantial evidence.
Tobacco Policy
The tobacco policy includes tobacco or nicotine products and paraphernalia in any form including, but not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, smokeless (chewing tobacco) products, ecigarettes, vapes/Jules, hookah devices or any chewable products.
An offense is one where the student involved is: · Caught in the act of using tobacco or nicotine products · In possession of tobacco/nicotine products or paraphernalia, whether on their person, in their car, in their locker or other personal property · Possessing, using or supplying tobacco/nicotine products or paraphernalia, proven through circumstantial evidence
Drug Policy
An offense is one where the student involved is: · Caught in the act of using or consuming illegal drugs · Obviously under the influence of illegal drugs · In possession of illegal drugs, whether on their person, in their car, in their locker or other personal property. · Tested positive for drugs during a drug screening
Disciplinary Actions
Violations of the Alcohol or Drug Polices are considered Major Infractions and students that commit such actions must comply with the disciplinary actions implemented by the Disciplinary Council. Violations of the Tobacco Policy are considered Level 3 offenses and are dealt with according to the previously stated punishments.
