It is with great pride that I present the 15th annual Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Honors Day awards. We are excited to celebrate the many accomplishments of our extraordinary students, faculty, and staff, as well as the generosity of our benefactors. I commend each of our honorees for their outstanding achievements.
I would also like to recognize a few of our shared accomplishments over the last year. Together, we have made great strides in fulfilling our mission of cultivating ethical, innovative leaders for a new business world.
Our undergraduate program was ranked top 20 in the U.S. and top 10 among public institutions for the third year in a row by U.S. News & World Report. Several of our specialties saw significant growth in rankings as well, with business analytics, information systems, quantitative analysis, and operations ranking top 10 in the U.S.
Our MBA program broke into the top 20 in the U.S. in Bloomberg Businessweek rankings, landing at an unprecedented No. 18 in the nation and No. 4 among public institutions. Furthermore, The Financial Times ranked our Jones MBA Career Center services top five in the world for the sixth year in a row. Our curriculum has also been recognized for excellence, ranking No. 3 in the U.S. for classroom experience (The Princeton Review) and top 10 in the U.S. for business analytics, information systems, operations, and sustainability (U.S. News & World Report, Corporate Knights).
• Our faculty have made a tremendous impact in academia, business, and society over the past year. Fifteen Scheller faculty and staff were selected for Georgia Tech’s Student Recognition of Excellence in Teaching Award. Faculty expertise and perspectives have also been featured in publications like The Wall Street Journal, The Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Hyepotamus, and more.
• We have made great strides in championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Scheller Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council continues to foster organizational change and equal access to opportunities.
None of this would be possible without the support and commitment of our distinguished benefactors, alumni, corporate partners, and friends. The impact of their generosity is immeasurable and will be felt for generations to come.
While this is my last Honors Day as the dean of this great College, I walk away with a deep, abiding sense of gratitude for all that our community has accomplished. I look forward to being a part of all the good that lies ahead as we work together to build an even better business world for all.

The late Mr. Battle graduated from Cornell University with a chemical engineering degree and served as vice president for The Dow Chemical Company.
