As we wrap up an exciting month of June, we're proud to reflect on everything our members accomplished together From showcasing the very best of our industry during the 2026 Parade of Homes to advocating for housing on Capitol Hill, June was a month filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate
The Parade of Homes once again highlighted the exceptional craftsmanship of our builders, trade partners, and associate members, while our Parade Celebration brought the industry together to recognize another successful year. We also enjoyed a fantastic Lunch & Learn featuring Parker McClellan of Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, whose presentation demonstrated the important role ECP continues to play in the growth and economic development of our region
Our members also strengthened relationships outside the jobsite during our annual Deep Sea Fishing Charter, while our Young Professionals gained valuable industry insight during a Behind the Build tour of a waterfront home under construction. Our Professional Women in Building Council continued to build momentum through Wine Down Wednesday and concluded the month by celebrating three outstanding scholarship recipients who represent the future of our industry
Advocacy remained a top priority as BBIA leaders joined fellow members of the Florida Home Builders Association in Washington, D.C., for the NAHB Legislative Conference, meeting with members of Congress to advocate for policies that support housing affordability, workforce development, and the residential construction industry.

The 2026 Bay Building Industries Association Parade of Homes once again showcased the very best of Northwest Florida's residential construction industry, bringing together builders, trade partners, suppliers, and thousands of visitors for two incredible weekends celebrating innovation, craftsmanship, and the dream of homeownership.
One of this year's biggest milestones was the inclusion of Washington County's first-ever Parade of Homes entry, highlighting the continued growth of the building industry throughout the region and reinforcing BBIA's commitment to serving communities across Northwest Florida Buildingthe Future,One Homeata Time
Held June 5–7 and June 12–14, this year's Parade featured 28 stunning stops across Bay and Washington counties, offering attendees the opportunity to explore an impressive variety of homes ranging from affordable starter homes to luxurious custom waterfront residences Whether visitors were searching for inspiration, planning their next build, or simply appreciating the latest trends in design and construction, the 2026 Parade offered something for everyone.
A Celebration Begins
The excitement officially kicked off on June 3 with the ribbon cutting of the 2026 BBIA Scholarship Home, proudly built by G6 Development. The Scholarship Home serves as one of BBIA's signature initiatives, with proceeds helping fund scholarships for local students pursuing careers in the building industry
The home beautifully demonstrated the craftsmanship, innovation, and collaboration made possible through the generosity of dozens of BBIA members and industry partners who donated their time, materials, and expertise to support workforce development and the future of the construction industry
Showcasing the Best of the Building Industry
Throughout the Parade, visitors experienced the latest in residential design, energy-efficient construction, innovative floor plans, smart home technology, and outdoor living spaces Every stop highlighted the incredible talent of BBIA's builders and associate members while demonstrating the diverse housing opportunities available throughout Northwest Florida
The Parade also provided an opportunity for builders to connect directly with prospective homeowners, showcase their craftsmanship, and educate visitors on the many products and services available through BBIA membership
Behind every featured home stood an entire team of professionals including architects, engineers, designers, suppliers, subcontractors, lenders, and service providers whose collective efforts brought each project to life.
A Community-Wide Effort
The Parade of Homes is truly a community event, and this year's success was made possible through the dedication of countless volunteers, committee members, participating builders, sponsors, homeowners, and BBIA members.
From months of planning and coordination to signage installation, marketing, photography, ribbon cuttings, social media, magazine distribution, and welcoming thousands of visitors throughout the event, the Parade reflects the collaborative spirit that defines BBIA

The Bay Building Industries Association's 2026 Deep Sea Fishing Charter was another outstanding success as 60 BBIA members set sail from Capt Anderson's Marina for a day of fishing, fellowship, and friendly competition on the beautiful waters of the Gulf
From the excitement of the first cast to the final weigh-in back at the dock, members enjoyed a full day of networking, laughter, and making memories with fellow industry professionals While everyone hoped to land the biggest catch of the day, the true highlight was the opportunity to strengthen relationships outside the office and jobsite one of the many benefits of being part of the BBIA community
The annual fishing charter has become one of BBIA's most anticipated summer traditions, bringing
together builders, associates, suppliers, and industry partners for a relaxed day on the water while celebrating the relationships that make our association so strong
Congratulations to Jessica Unger Tilse of ARCXIS and Greg Taylor of Counts Real Estate Group, who each reeled in one of the two biggest fish on the boat! Their impressive catches earned plenty of bragging rights and added a little extra excitement to an already fantastic day

BBIA Supports Future Builders of America at SEBC 2026
The Bay Building Industries Association is proud to serve as a 2nd Place Sponsor for the Future Builders of America (FBA) Student Competition at the 2026 Southeast Building Conference (SEBC), taking place July 29–30 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando
Supporting the next generation of construction professionals is a key initiative of BBIA's Education & Workforce Task Force, and we're honored to help provide students with opportunities to develop their skills, showcase their creativity, and connect with industry leaders from across Florida.
This year's FBA student competition features "Dream Dog Houses," where students will design
and build one-of-a-kind dog houses that will be displayed during SEBC Attendees are encouraged to stop by the Future Builders of America exhibit, meet the talented students, and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to take home one of these incredible creations Raffle ticket sales begin in July, with proceeds supporting Future Builders of America programs and scholarships.

On Monday, June 1st we held our June BBIA Commercial Meeting. There were over 25 attendees. Most were very familiar faces which shows that our newly relaunched BBIA Commercial has a consistent following We were also graced with the presence of members of our community who were eager to join BBIA after the meeting.
Our meetings have been attaining a wide variety of commercial professionals ranging from general contractors, stone fabricators, supply houses, insurance agents, engineers, CPA's, bankers, investors, brokers, developers, and many more. Regardless of what challenge or need you have in the industry, we have a resource in our network
This month, BBIA Board Member, Rob Griffith with Hutt Insurance was our guest speaker. It was a special presentation as Hutt Insurance was celebrating their 65th Anniversary A great dialogue ensued with many questions for Rob about where insurance rates or going and how to utilize Rob as an advisor A favorite quote from Rob was "If your insurance premium was not lower this year, contact me and see how I can help "
BBIA Commercial also made the commitment to start planning its Fall Halloween Party to showcase our members and celebrate our successful first year relaunched.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday, July 6th at House of Henry Chuck Hudson with People South Bank will be our guest speaker discussing commercial lending.

As part of the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) delegation, BBIA leaders met with members of Congress to ensure the voice of Florida's housing industry was heard on the issues that matter most to builders, businesses, homeowners, and communities throughout our state
BBIA is proud to stand alongside FHBA and NAHB in advocating for policies that support builders, protect housing affordability, and promote a strong future for the construction industry. We appreciate the dedication of everyone who traveled to Washington, D C , to represent our members and help ensure that the voice of homebuilding continues to be heard where it matters most of attainable homes
Throughout the conference, industry leaders participated in hundreds of meetings on Capitol Hill, discussing the challenges facing the residential construction industry and encouraging congressional action to address the nation's housing affordability crisis. Conversations focused on increasing housing supply, reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens, strengthening the construction workforce, improving permitting processes, expanding workforce development opportunities, and supporting policies that make homeownership more attainable for American families
The Legislative Conference also provided valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and sharing best practices with fellow home builder associations from across the nation. By working together, industry leaders continue to advance solutions that support responsible growth, strengthen the residential construction industry, and help meet the housing needs of future generations.

Behind the Build: BBIA YPs Tour Showcases Waterfront Construction
The BBIA Young Professionals Committee recently stepped behind the scenes for another exclusive Behind the Build tour, giving members an upclose look at a beautiful waterfront home currently under construction just steps from the Gulf
Hosted by Brian Knox, BBIA Vice President, Government Affairs Chair, and President of Coastal Classic Homes of FL, the tour offered attendees a unique opportunity to experience the craftsmanship, planning, and collaboration that go into building a luxury custom home
One of the biggest takeaways from the morning was seeing how many BBIA member companies contribute to a project from start to finish From site preparation and design to building materials, specialty trades, and finishing touches, each phase of construction highlighted the teamwork
and expertise that define our local building industry It was an excellent reminder that every successful project is the result of strong partnerships and skilled professionals working toward a common goal
A special thank you to Brian Knox, Lindsay, and Bill with Coastal Classic Homes for opening the job site, sharing their knowledge, and providing valuable insight into each stage of the construction process Their willingness to invest in the next generation of industry leaders is exactly what makes the BBIA Young Professionals program so valuable

Industry News – May Highlights from FHBA & NAHB
FHBA Florida Update
Florida Home Builders Association members continued advocating for housing affordability and policies that promote responsible growth, workforce development, and regulatory efficiency throughout Florida
FHBA remains engaged with state leaders on issues affecting builders, including impact fees, permitting, insurance reform, infrastructure funding, and workforce shortages
BBIA leaders continue serving at the state level, representing Northwest Florida through FHBA leadership, committees, and strategic planning initiatives to ensure our region has a voice in statewide discussions.
NAHB National Update
NAHB members traveled to Washington, D C , for the 2026 Legislative Conference, meeting with members of Congress to advocate for housing affordability, workforce development, permitting reform, and increased housing supply
Builder confidence declined in June, with the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index falling to 35 as elevated mortgage rates, rising material costs, and affordability challenges continue to impact the housing market.
A new NAHB study found that government regulations, taxes, fees, and related costs account for more than 26% of the price of an average new single-family home, reinforcing the need for permitting and regulatory reform
NAHB continues to advocate for passage of the CONSTRUCTS Act, aimed at strengthening the construction workforce and addressing the industry's skilled labor shortage
NAHB estimates the nation remains approximately 1 2 million homes short, emphasizing the need for policies that remove barriers to home construction and increase housing supply.
