VOLUME 1, ISSUE 9 MARCH 2026

BUILDING INFLUENCE: BLAISE INGOGLIA PAC FUNDRAISER SET FOR MARCH 12
NATIONAL STAGE, LOCAL IMPACT: BBIA AT IBS
BBIA TAKES OUR VOICE TO THE STATE CAPITOL.
TOURISM & TRADE: CONNECTING GROWTH ACROSS NORTHWEST

February has been nothing short of busy and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
If January set the tone, February showed just how much heart, dedication, and momentum our association truly carries From travel and advocacy to thriving committees and meaningful member engagement, BBIA has been moving full speed ahead
Earlier this month, BBIA leadership traveled to the Florida Home Builders Association Legislative Conference in Tallahassee and to the National Association of Home Builders International Builders’ Show (IBS). These opportunities allow us to advocate directly for our members at both the state and national levels discussing housing affordability, regulatory reform, workforce development, and the real-world challenges impacting our builders and industry partners. Representing Bay County on those stages is not something we take lightly, and we are proud to ensure your voices are heard where it matters most.
Back at home, our February Lunch & Learn delivered another full room and meaningful conversation With strong attendance and an insightful presentation from VISIT FLORIDA, members were reminded how interconnected our building industry is with tourism, economic growth, and long-term regional planning Education and connection remain at the core of what we do.
Our committees are also thriving. The energy behind our Young Professionals, Professional Women in Building, Government Affairs, and Commercial Committee continues to grow. Seeing members step into leadership roles, attend meetings, and invest in the future of our industry is truly something to love When our committees are active, our association is strong
Speaking of love with Valentine’s Day just behind us, it feels fitting to say how grateful we are for each of you Your engagement, sponsorship, volunteerism, and advocacy are what make BBIA work This association runs on relationships, and we are thankful for the trust and commitment you show month after month.
We do want to apologize for the Clay Shoot reschedule. We know how much our members look forward to this event each year, and we appreciate your flexibility as we made adjustments. We promise it will be worth the wait.
Looking ahead, we are preparing for an important PAC fundraiser in March supporting Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia Advocacy remains a critical part of our mission, and this event will provide an opportunity for members to engage in meaningful dialogue about the policies impacting our industry and our state
February has reminded us why we do this work. It’s about building homes, yes but it’s also about building relationships, strengthening leadership, and protecting the future of our industry.
Thank you for being part of BBIA. We’re feeling the momentum, and we’re excited about everything still to come.
With appreciation,

At BBIA, our strength is in our members and we are proud to welcome the newest faces to our association and extend our heartfelt thanks to those who renewed their commitment in June
Whether you ’ re brand new or a long-time supporter, your membership fuels everything we do from workforce development to advocacy, events, education, and more Together, we are building a stronger future for our industry and our community.
Thank you for being a part of the BBIA family!

Together, we are Building Strong Foundations and Connecting Bright Futures across our seven-county region

The 2026 International Builders’ Show (IBS), held during Design & Construction Week, was an energizing and impactful experience for our association and our federation From Executive Officer leadership meetings to national board discussions, innovative education sessions, and time spent strengthening relationships with our Florida family, this year ’ s IBS delivered both inspiration and practical takeaways to bring home to BBIA.
The week began with Executive Officers Council meetings, where association leaders from across the country gathered to discuss best practices, challenges, and opportunities facing local HBAs. It was encouraging to see the passion within our EO network and the intentional work being done at the national level to support associations of all sizes
Professional Women in Building (PWB) sessions highlighted the continued national growth of the council, with more HBAs launching PWB chapters and expanding opportunities for leadership development and engagement The momentum across the country is clear, and it reinforces the value of investing in strong leadership pipelines within our own association

During our Area 5 Caucus (Florida & Puerto Rico), we heard updates on key initiatives impacting our region and our industry NAHB Chairman Buddy Hughes joined the discussion, and our own Garrett Anderson, serving as NAHB Florida Representative, shared insights on the strong work happening throughout our state Florida continues to have a meaningful voice at the national table
Opening Ceremonies featured keynote speaker Emmitt Smith, who spoke about the importance of mentors, embracing change when it leads to new opportunities, and the responsibility we have to teach and invest in the next generation His emphasis on teamwork as the foundation of success resonated strongly with the r

Additional education sessions included:
“Building Competitive Advantage” with Jon Taffer and Gene Myers, focusing on leadership, culture, and accountability
“AI Is Your MVP,” exploring how associations and businesses can leverage technology to work smarter and remain competitive
NAHB’s TOUCH program, designed to better connect members with the resources, advocacy efforts, and benefits available through NAHB
Each session offered ideas that can be adapted to strengthen member engagement, communication, and value delivery at the local level.
The IBS show floor remains one of the most dynamic parts of the experience With thousands of exhibitors, product innovations, and live demonstrations, it provides a firsthand look at where the industry is headed. Equally valuable are the informal conversations the sharing of ideas, challenges, and solutions among peers who are all working toward the same goal: building stronger associations and stronger communities
The FHBA Reception provided an opportunity to gather with our Florida family, share insights from the week, and discuss how we can collectively leverage what we ’ ve learned to better serve our members back home
The week concluded with the IBS closing concert featuring Brothers Osborne a fun and fitting way to celebrate a week of hard work, leadership, and connection
IBS is always about more than sessions and speakers It is about strengthening our federation, expanding our perspective, and returning home with renewed focus.
The conversations, strategies, and relationships built during this week will directly influence how we continue to grow BBIA, support our members, and advocate for the building industry in our region
We are grateful to represent BBIA on the national stage and look forward to putting these insights into action.

The BBIA Government Affairs and PAC Committee has been actively engaged on behalf of our members at both the state and local levels In early February, members attended the Florida Home Builders Association Legislative Conference in Tallahassee, where we met directly with legislators and their aides representing all seven counties within our jurisdiction

These meetings provided valuable opportunities to discuss issues impacting the building industry such as impact fees and building permits while strengthening relationships with statewide decision-makers. Attendees also received indepth updates on FHBA’s legislative priorities and how those priorities are progressing through committees as the legislative session gets underway

Closer to home, the BBIA partnered with the Central Panhandle Association of Realtors to host a joint Government Affairs Lunch and Learn on the topic of land development in Panama City on February 9th The event drew more than 180 registered attendees, reflecting strong interest from members of both associations Jonathan Hayes, City Manager for Panama City, delivered a presentation focused on the land development process and available incentives The presentation was followed by a robust Q&A session featuring Mayor Allan Branch, Commissioner Robbie Hughes, and members of the Panama City Planning and Building Departments, who answered questions from an engaged audience of industry professionals Thank you to everyone who attended, and especially to our sponsors, D R Horton and South Oak Title, for their support.

Looking ahead, the BBIA has been asked to host a fundraiser on behalf of the Area 1 Builder Associations of the Panhandle for the Chief Financial Officer race supporting Blaise Ingoglia Please save the date for Thursday, March 12, with additional details to be shared soon.
