Township of Ocean Historical Museum Please join us for the Kick-Off Celebration of our 20th Year “Honoring our past and those who have brought us to the present. Celebrating our Future”
Tuesday, October 28 at 7:30pm Old Oakhurst School 163 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst Refreshments It is time to take pride in the Museum we have created, the only repository in our town that is dedicated to preserving, presenting and interpreting local history. As we look back 20 years, we reflect on the accomplishments of our vision of a community resource to preserve information, artifacts and memories and to educate the public. It will be an evening to thank our supporters, our volunteers, and the community leaders who have made it possible and to look forward to the future. Come and celebrate this “volunteer success story” that your support has nurtured.
20th Anniversary Events in 2004 February 10 - Annual Meeting; Speaker to be announced May 1 - Spring Tea May 31- Memorial Day Parade; Museum Marching Unit September 2004 - 20th Anniversary Dinner
Our exhibit weekend includes a members 2nd annual presale of crafts and quilted items on Friday, December 5th from 1 – 4pm and a member/guest preview on Friday evening December 5 from 7 to 9 pm. Mrs. Trudy WolfeLarkin’s Enrichment Class from our Intermediate School are hard at work preparing entertainment for that evening. Crafts will be available for sale, the model trains will be up and running, raffle tickets will be available, and refreshments will be served. On Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 7, the exhibit will be open to the public. Our Museum rooms will be open and the Woolley House Model will be on display. Help is needed from all members during the exhibit. Needed are: finger foods for Friday evening, goodies for our sale on Saturday and Sunday, members to man the entrance, sales, and raffle tables, and docents to show
