UNIQUELY PREPARED FOR THE WORLD Being a part of the residential community at Garrison Forest School is one of the best ways to ensure you’re ready for life beyond high school. Our program is designed to give young women the confidence to become successful scholars, informed global citizens, and well-prepared adults, all in a supportive and fun environment that emphasizes character development and wellness.
It’s easy to get where you need to go! Our campus offers 110 acres to stretch out and explore—while being a quick ride (or, sometimes, a short walk!) from amenities like restaurants, shopping, and more, including a 30-minute drive into the City of Baltimore. We’re just 60 minutes from Washington, D.C., two hours from Philadelphia and three hours from New York City. NEW YORK CITY

POWER UP your life skills. Learning how to live in community with others prepares you not only for college, but imparts vital skills like time management, responsibility, social awareness, and communication.
“I CHOSE TO STUDY AT GARRISON FOREST BECAUSE OF THE SENSE OF COMMUNITY. I LOVE FEELING LIKE I AM AT HOME IN A LEARNING SPACE AND THE ALL-GIRLS ASPECT IS SO IMPORTANT. I GET TO SEE STRONG WOMEN EVERY DAY AND THAT HELPS ME FEEL MORE CONFIDENT. THE TOP THREE SKILLS I’VE LEARNED ARE INDEPENDENCE, A SENSE OF LEADERSHIP, AND HOW TO BE MY AUTHENTIC SELF.” > ELLA ’25
LIVING IN COMMUNITY
CONFIDENTLY INDEPENDENT From washing dishes and doing laundry to managing a busy schedule, life in the dorms can help you develop a sense of independence and responsibility.
LIVING WITH ROOMMATES Sharing a space is a quick way to make lifelong friends and enjoy the camaraderie, community, and fun that comes from living together.
A GLOBAL LENS Girls from around the world call GFS home, and boarding here is a chance to live with and learn from people who have different backgrounds and cultures.
EXTEND THE ACADEMIC DAY A daily evening study hall proctored by teachers provides a quiet space to work, while seeing teachers in the dorms is an opportunity to ask questions, get extra help, or just get to know one another better.
The Parent/Dorm Parent
CONNECTION. Our dedicated, caring Residential Life faculty serve as partners with parents to create the best possible experience for every single student in our care. We’re here to nurture, support, and uplift every student, ensuring she has what she needs to thrive.
Residential Life faculty represent all different areas of campus—from teachers to staff to administrators. It’s a wonderful way to get to know the adults in our community in a unique capacity.
OUR RIDING AND POLO BOARDING COMMUNITIES While our boarding students represent lots of interests and backgrounds—athletes, performers, and more—living on campus as a rider or polo player is a popular option for our equestrian athletes to get more time at our barns and arenas while building strong bonds with their peers.
DID YOU KNOW THAT GFS IS THE ONLY GIRLS’ SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY TO OFFER POLO?
“WE ARE DEDICATED TO HELPING EACH GIRL BE HER VERY BEST SELF. WE’RE HERE FOR THE BIG MOMENTS AND THE SMALL, AND IT’S OUR PRIVILEGE TO SHARE OUR HOME AND COMMUNITY WITH THESE AMAZING STUDENTS!” > RACHEL AYERS WALLER, DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL LIFE
