Logic Diagram

This is one individual column of our space and show how our whole system works. There is the main column with slots cut into it to allow for the steam bent wood to run through and create our woven pattern. The column is secured to the gorund with the foundation that has a bracket installed to keep our strucutre upright. The oculus is attached to the colum with a “lego-like” arm that slides around it to keep the oculus in place. The material choice throughout this whole space was chosen to create lots of contrast from the natural wood colors to the concrete and steel connection points.

Spatial / Section Model

This is our scaled spatial model that doubles as a sectional model because of our choice in design. It features two parasitic woven pods that appear to “grow” out of the ground and create a very intimate feeling. The pods were both 3D printed using the woven script to apply to the surfaces we decided on creating. This model was constructed at 1/4 scale and the scaled figures can show human relation to the space. The sectional quality of this model was focused on the larger pod that we chose to split in half to show how a humans scale could relate to our space. We chose to place it on this non-site specific base to show how it grows out of the ground and could be placed in many locations throughout the world.
