Health and Information Fair Wednesday, June 26 9 to 11 a.m.

This free health and information fair will give you the opportunity to meet and talk with vendors from a variety of different senior service agencies.

Giveaways, door prizes and free health screenings will be offered.

Danube River Cruise Pre-Trip Meeting Friday, July 19 1:30 p.m.

We will have our first pre-trip meeting for the October trip at 1:30 p.m. on July 19.

This meeting will address the included excursions and optional excursions that will be available during free time at each port.

Vickie with Cruise One Dream Vacations is researching many great options for us to consider. This meeting is for information purposes only and is not required.

Carver Renovations The Carver Senior Center is getting a new look.

As of Monday, June 25, 2018, we have relocated to Fields Recreation Center at 1710 Dairy Road, Garland, TX 75040. Hours of operation, programs, transportation and the congregate meal program will remain the same.

AARP - Driver Safety Program

Thursday, June 20 1 to 5 p.m.

Refresh your driving knowledge, including the rules of the road, traffic hazards, collision prevention and night driving. Become more informed, better prepared for the road and a better driver. A $15 AARP member and $20 non-member supply fee is payable to the instructor at the start of class. Cash and checks only – no credit cards. Students arriving after the scheduled start time will be turned away and not accepted for the class.

Ballroom Dance/Workshop

Every second and fourth Thursday of the month $2 per person donation to Site Council

Scrape the dust off of your dance shoes and join us for some ballroom fun. This will serve as a chance to practice steps you already know and to learn new moves from other dancers.

Recorded music will be played to provide a great learning and practicing experience.

Skilled dancers are also invited to dance and to help others.

Nutrition & Transportation Program The nutrition program is a daily lunch program that ensures a nutritious lunch for senior citizens. On a limited basis, free transportation to both senior program locations is available to seniors, age 60 and older, living in the city of Garland, who participate in the nutrition program. Meals are served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. Paperwork must be completed before being able to participate in the program. Please call 972-2052769 for additional information. This service is supported, in part, by the Dallas Area Agency on Aging (DAAA), the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) and Dallas County.
