Careers NZ has put together a few ideas to demonstrate how you can include your transferable skills into your CV and job search to ensure you achieve the best results and reach your potential‌.
Putting transferable skills into your CV Transferable skills are skills that are useful for a range of positions, and can be transferred into different job areas. Depending on what job you're going for, you should highlight different transferable skills in your CV.
Contents:
"I can work confidently under pressure" "I like to achieve my goals" "I have strong communication skills" "I am able to motivate others" "I have excellent organisational skills" Work out some examples for your own transferable skills Figure out your skills - work out what skills you've got Skills gained outside the workforce - learn more about transferable skills When writing about transferable skills in your CV, you need to give the employer examples of when and how you've used these skills. This helps to prove to the employer that you are capable in a particular area.

Know Your Rights Interviews can be a daunting prospect so being prepared is always best. You will usually get the opportunity to Students volunteer for Hospice ask questions at an interview. Though you may think of questions during the interview, it pays to have some prepared in case you need them. Careers NZ has put together a few ideas to help you with any upcoming interviews...
West Auckland
Make sure you know why you are asking a question. If you ask an idle question, and the interviewer asks why you want to know the answer, you will have to justify yourself. Ask genuine questions about information that is not readily available. For example, don't ask about things that are on the organisation's website or in its promotional brochures. If you do, you'll show the employer that you haven't done your research. Remember, some of the questions you have prepared may be answered during the interview. You'll need to keep track of these, as you don't want to ask them again. Examples of questions that you could ask What type of work will you be doing? What are the duties and responsibilities of this position? What would a day in the life of a _______ with your firm typically involve? What will be biggest challenge I will have in this job? What training and progression opportunities are there? What kind of induction or training programme will I complete when I begin the job? Will the organisation support ongoing study? Will there be opportunities for increased responsibility and broader experience? Is there a periodic employee appraisal or performance review? How is this organised? What are the people like? How much contact will I have with management? Who will I report to in this position? How big is the team I will work with? What's the organisation like? I find it interesting that you are expanding into ________. Could you tell me more about that? How does your organisation show that it values its employees?

Careers NZ have collated some reallyRights useful tips for creating a NZ-style CV, read on for more details... Know Your You may already have a CV, but its style, length and content may be quite different from CVs in New Students volunteer Hospice Westemployers Auckland Zealand. These tips will help you write your CVfor in a style that New Zealand prefer. Contents: 1. Keep it short 2. Give examples of your skills 3. Make sure your CV is up to date 4. Get it checked 5. Sell yourself 6. Bring your references 7. Write a cover letter 1. Keep it short You may be used to having a CV that includes information about every job or course you've ever done. But in New Zealand, CVs are generally short - two to three pages long. Employers want to know about how suitable you are for their vacancy, not all that you have ever done. Your CV should include: your contact details work experience that is relevant to the job you want key skills you have learned or developed that would be useful for the position. 2. Give examples of your skills Employers use CVs to decide which candidates they will invite for an interview Writing about skills may be different from what you are used to. Don't just list your skills - make sure that you give an example of how you've used each skill. Identify what you did, the setting in which the activity was carried out, and what happened as a result. Example: Customer service skills - managed a busy bookstore and twice achieved a 95% grading during the annual mystery shopper survey.
