INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the first ever Spring edition of the GIMA New Product Digest.

Back by popular demand, our product digest will now be published twice a year to support our members innovation and their commitment to new products.

2020 saw the well documented heightened demand for garden products challenge everyone across the whole supply chain to keep things moving. With so many obstacles along the way, I’m proud of how we all kept delivering stock against all odds.

As the Government’s road map presents us with the way out of the pandemnic, 2021 looks all set to be another incredibly busy year, with continued interest in the home and garden sector. But as suppliers, we still have challenges to deal with such as new import procedures and costs, social distancing cost price inflation, product and packaging shortages,

rising container and shipping costs, personnel issues to name just a few!

Despite these difficulties, our members will continue to rise to the challenge.

I’m confident that they will keep the stock flowing, whilst looking ahead and investing in growth by developing new products, packaging and merchandising solutions for the garden retail channel.

Please take some time to flick through this digest which is, dedicated to everything that’s new for the year ahead.

Powergrow Poultry Manure Pellets contain a high percentage of organic matter which applied as a base dressing to plants provides a balanced source of nutrients and trace elements to ensure strong, healthy growth. Poultry manure is the most effective organic material to promote growth in plants. Nutrient values can be up to six times greater than other manures. The most efficient way to apply poultry manure is in pelleted form which prevents the loss of nitrogen to the atmosphere and minimises unpleasant odours. A high organic content promotes an optimum soil environment to encourage the activities of micro--organisms and improve soil structure for better moisture retention, drainage and aeration. INDOOR PLANT FEEDS New to the popular Emapthy range and a new kid on the House Plant feeds block, PlantWorks are launching two products that will act as linked sales to support the growing demand for indoor plants and Orchids.

Manufactured using the same organic based liquid feeds found in the popular garden range the products will contain, seaweed extract, amino acids and minerals to nourish and protect indoor plants, keeping them fresh and vibrant all year round.

THE PRODUCT COMES IN TWO VARIANTS:

House Plant and Orchid, both are designed to stimulate plant growth and activate soil biology and improve flower longevity in orchids and flowering plants. Both can be used for regular feeding. The Orchid feed can also be used as a foliar feed for Orchids and house plants.
