From the demented mind of Russall S. Beattie (The Empire Strips Back – A Star Wars Burlesque Parody and The Dames Of Throne Burlesque Show) comes something original and mysterious. Breaking free from the themes and characters of familiar franchises, this show is an indication of what happens in his mind when there are no boundaries. In this incredible show Colin Cloud will deduce everything about you and explain how he did it, accurately predict your behaviour, and, quite literally, get away with murder right before your very eyes. His awe-inspiring powers of deduction will enthral, delight and terrify you.

GREAT

Are you coming to my show? Yes? Great. As seen on ABC TV’s The Weekly.

Colin makes his Adelaide debut following a sell-out season at the Edinburgh Fringe, a hit UK tour and a season performing in the worldwide hit The Illusionists.

2015 was a breakout year for Tom Gleeson. The 3 time Helpmann Award nominee starred alongside Charlie Pickering with his ‘Hard Chat’ segment on The Weekly. He toured the country with his stand up show - aptly entitled Tom Gleeson and just casually went about being one of the most in demand comedians on the Australian comedy scene.

TOLU

AN EVENING WITH FIRST DOG ON THE MOON

A vivaciously fun story told through circus, dance and play by the sensational Casus Circus. Three friends left to their own devices discover each other’s likes, dislikes and soft spots in Tolu. Audiences of all ages will have their imaginations sparked by the three awe-inspiring performers, as they twist, flip, spiral, balance, jump and climb in a world where bodies become building blocks, gravity is broken and the stage is transformed into a child’s playground. Energetic, thrilling and lyrical, Tolu will leave families wanting more. www.casus.com.au

http://instagram.com/thegardenofud/

Gasp as The Guardian’s much-loved cartoonist, First Dog on the Moon, scampers about in this adorable show, complete with bonus Q&A session because inquiring minds demand answers to burning questions like ‘why are you so charming and funny?’ Thrill as the nation is held to account by Australia’s handsomest, humblest, Walkley Award-winning marsupial based cartoonist. Fun for all the family if they don’t mind mild swearing. (Features potatoes).

DUCKIE

BIG TOP BONANZA Round up the family, grab your popcorn and take a seat in the Big Top for this year’s unmissable family fringe extravaganza!

Walking a little differently. Sounding a bit strange. Duckie knows what it’s like to not fit the mould. Critically acclaimed cabaret star Le Gateau Chocolat is breaking out of his shell and reimagining a childhood favourite, The Ugly Duckling, in his new work Duckie. A classic tale of identity and belonging, DUCKIE explores what it’s like to feel different… only with far more sing-alongs, Disney references, outlandish dress-ups and Chocolat than the original! Quack quack!

The most exciting and talented circus performers from Australia and around the world will come tumbling together in a cavalcade of tricks, flips and mind-boggling stunts. Big Top Bonanza is an eclectic mix of circus and spectacle that will dazzle and delight kids and parents alike. Hair-raising acrobatics and astonishing circus acts to entertain the whole family. This award-winning, laugh-out-loud spin on Spielberg’s classic Jurassic Park is a theatrical celebration of cinematic nostalgia and a powerful reminder of the ones we love. The perfect parody for those waiting anxiously for the next film! Welcome to the unlikely setting of Lyme Regis Community Centre, where the Park Family embark on a journey to a misty past. When things go wrong, family feuds are faced with the rapturous roar of DIY dinosaurs. Superbolt Theatre’s five-star production is an epic adventure of show-stopping, spine-tingling theatrics and megalithic mayhem. Just like the film that inspired it, the show is suitable for the whole family.

EXCESS BAGGAGE

PRE S E N T E D BY MARY TOBIN

EDDIE IFFT

Has fatherhood made controversial and edgy US comedian Eddie Ifft soft? (Not in the least.) Ifft returns to Australia after a year-long hiatus with a whole new hour of material. Now with child, Ifft is even more opinionated about how the world should be run. The Onion called him ‘the most underrated comedian in the US’ and according to the Adelaide Advertiser ‘Eddie Ifft doesn’t teeter at the line of political correctness, he shamelessly dances right across it’. Host of one of the most successful podcasts in the comedy world ‘Talkin’ Shit’ and ‘The Bingle Bus’, a mobile podcasting studio. Eddie has performed to sold-out crowds in over 15 countries and has appeared on countless Australian and US TV shows.

PRESENTED BY STRUT & FRET PRODUCTION HOUSE

PRESENTED BY BENT SCHEMATIC

Staying up late just got a whole lot weirder. CULT is a queer mash-up of your old VHS collection versus your hacked Netflix account. Part club-night, partperformance and a whole lot of chaos! A dusty hangout where Stephen King, Romy & Michelle, Tim Burton and Hitchcock all blur into one…

A mischievous family of Gremlins are trying to fulfil their dream of flying by launching their very own 28% reliable budget airline. The passengers are strapped in and the doors are closed. There’s only one only problem… they haven’t finished building the plane yet.

Come and relive the childhood memories you love and some you’d like to forget. Get to the chopper!!! This is a CULT you’ll want to join.

These bizarre street theatre favourites crash into town with their unique brand of spectacle comedy. Fire extinguishers not provided, but highly recommended.

TOMMY LITTLE

What’s the deal with man’s inhumanity to man? How about those collective delusions about our mortality?

DICKHEAD

Ever notice how society’s conditional thinking stimulates perpetual environmental chaos and suffering? Much lol. In 2015 Tom performed alongside Wanda Sykes and roasted Jimmy Carr in Montreal, made his Edinburgh Festival debut, started a hit podcast and even hosted Q&A a couple of times. Now, Tom has a new hour of stand up about how everything is sinister and confusing. Come along and have a good old-fashioned laugh about it while you still can.

Last year saw Tommy flee the country to a health retreat, quit his job in breakfast radio, get in hot water for identity fraud and then flee that same health retreat after just 24 hours. It’s time for this dickhead to tell his story. He completely sold out his seasons at Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2015. TOM BINNS THE CLUB SETS

PRESENTED BY LEAH SHELTON

PULPSHOW Pulpshow is a live art cabaret that explores the sinister side of Australia. This f**ked up outback Contiki Tour is hosted by ‘modern-day Cyd Charisse’ Leah Shelton, known for her international touring work with Polytoxic dance theatre and a hot Las Vegas stint in Spiegelworld’s acclaimed production of ‘Vegas Nocturne’.

One man, three hilarious comedy acts make up this critically acclaimed solo variety show. Award-winning Ivan Brackenbury (Hospital Radio DJ) and Ian D Montfort (psychic) are joined by Tom’s equally inventive and skilful new ventriloquist act that includes his whole family.

Pulpshow will take you on a wild, irreverent, hyper-physical ride through the terrain of black comedy, anti-burlesque and cynical pole dance.

‘Leah Shelton is sensational… sensual, erotic and quite mad.’

‘Possibly the cleverest running gag of all time…Not only is the running gag a thing of comedy genius, but Binns tags it jaw-droppingly brilliantly (his own jaw never drops, of course) by singing the Confrontation duet from Les Misérables in a manner that will wipe Hugh Jackman from your mind forever.' While The Garden is constantly working on ways to improve the site and its access, the parkland itself offers some challenges. In some places the pathways are steep and consistently so. A number of venues in The Garden are antique wooden theatres, which cannot be modified. Where possible, paths and ramps have been installed to improve access to the site and its venues.

The Garden and its program of performances are part of the 2016 Adelaide Fringe.
