Thanks to the hard work of our writers, editors, and artists, we present this spring issue, which we hope provides both entertainment and inspiration to our readers.
On that note, I highly encourage all of our readers to consider joining our ECHO community. Whether through writing or artwork, I’m certain all GCHS students can find a place of belonging in the newspaper. Best wishes to all in the second semester!

How a Warming Planet Can Fuel Extreme
Snowstorms
At first glance, it might seem counterintuitive that global warming, a long-term increase in average temperatures, could be tied to record snowstorms. But climate scientists explain that warming affects the atmosphere in ways that can increase the intensity of certain winter storms.
A more wavy jet stream can allow cold Arctic air to plunge southward, providing the frigid conditions needed for a blizzard
Storm tracks and dynamics shift: Warmer oceans and altered atmospheric patterns can affect where and how storms travel. In some cases, this increases the chance of large storms forming along the East Coast
Meteorologists described recent storms as “bomb cyclones,” which rapidly deepen in atmospheric pressure and produce intense snow, wind, and even lightning, conditions not seen in New York City since 2017. These storms have brought widespread impacts including travel chaos, power outages, and emergency declarations across the Northeast.
More Moisture in the Air: As the planet warms, the air can hold more water vapor When cold air still descends over a region, that extra moisture can fall as heavy snow instead of rain, increasing snowfall totals.
Polar vortex and jet stream changes: The Arctic has been warming faster than lower latitudes. This reduces the temperature difference between the poles and mid-latitudes, which can weaken and destabilize the jet stream

In fact, many people in the U S have recently reported experiencing unusually severe cold and snow, even as scientists note that overall winters are warming and snowstorms aren’t becoming more frequent everywhere.
This seeming contradiction arises because climate change doesn’t simply make every place uniformly warmer. It disrupts atmospheric circulation and moisture patterns, which can create both warmer conditions and occasionally more dramatic swings, like cold air outbreaks that fuel heavy snow
Other Major Effects of Climate Change
While blizzards grab headlines, climate change is reshaping many other aspects of Earth’s environment:
Heat waves: Rising global temperatures are increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events, posing health risks and stressing infrastructure.
Sea level rise: Melting ice sheets and thermal expansion of oceans are causing seas to rise, increasing risks for coastal flooding and storm surge
Stronger storms and precipitation: A warmer atmosphere provides more energy and moisture for storms, leading to heavier rainfall and powerful hurricanes.
Drought and wildfires: Higher temperatures dry out soil and vegetation, contributing to more frequent and severe droughts and wildfires in many regions.
These effects show climate change isn’t just ab warming, it’s about increa the extremes and variability in our weather and ecosystems
Looking Forward
Scientists agree that reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing communities for extreme weather are critical steps to lessen the most damaging impacts of climate change. Understanding how climate change influences storms, droughts, heat waves, and sea-level rise can help communities like New York plan for a more resilient future.

The Governors Ball Music Festival is a three-day music festival that takes place every year. It’s featured notable artists like Tyler, The Creator, Florence + The Machine, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Lorde, Phoebe Bridgers, and even Megan Thee Stallion over the years
Last year, I went on Day 2 (Saturday). The artists scheduled to perform originally included Conan Gray, Olivia Rodrigo, Young Miko, Wallows, Marina, Mariah the Scientist, Artemas, Car Seat Headrest, The Garden, Wave to Earth, Orion Sun, The Lemon Twigs, Yaya Bey, The Backfires, Alexa Gates, Die Spitz, Monobloc, Glasshouse, and School of Rock New York.
Weather Disruptions and Organization Issues
The festival was supposed to last almost the entire day, but while traveling there, I received a notification that it would be cut in half. It would start halfway through the original schedule, and the entire first half of artists was canceled. This was very surprising and felt unfair, because some people travel long

distances to attend. By the time the festival actually started, the rain was not even that bad, so it did not seem justified.
As a result, instead of seeing half of the artists, you could only see about a quarter of them, since there were multiple stages and some acts performed at the same time This created problems later in the day. The festival took place in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, and throughout the park was the longest line I have ever seen, which felt disorganized. Because of this, this year they are sending wristbands in the mail so people can enter more efficiently instead of pulling up tickets on their phones
Performances and Highlights
When I arrived, the artists I was able to see perform full sets were Marina, Wallows, Conan Gray, and Olivia Rodrigo. I am a huge fan of all of them, especially Conan Gray, who is my all-time favorite singer, so I was happy with who I saw However, it still felt unfair that so many acts were cut for light rain, since some people may have come specifically to see those artists
When my friends and I got to
one of the stages, we started in the back of the crowd while Marina was performing. She had high energy and was an amazing way to get the crowd excited
Next, Wallows came out, and it started pouring rain They put on an amazing performance, and it was so fun jumping around in the rain to their songs By this point, my friends and I were fairly close to the stage, just behind the barrier to the front section.
After Wallows, I wanted to move closer for Conan since he is my favorite, but my friend held me back because I am short and people were rushing forward. We ended up only a bit closer than before, but still near the stage. Conan was amazing and even performed “Vodka Cranberry” live for the first time, which I was extremely

happy to see. His performance was definitely my favorite, and the aesthetic was perfect.
Safety Concerns in the Crowd
The danger started after Conan’s set, when Olivia Rodrigo was next and the sun was setting. As everyone rushed forward, people, including me and my friends, were getting crushed in the crowd. Some people were fainting and struggling to breathe There was crying and screaming as people tried to get out, and others were being pulled over the barriers for safety

No one knew what to do because the crowd was so tight, and it became very difficult to breathe.
It was a very scary experience, and I am surprised it was not addressed more by the organizers, because it was extremely dangerous The medical station was overcrowded with people who needed help. When my friends and I finally got out, we stood in the back and were still able to enjoy Olivia’s performance, even though the experience had been overwhelming.
Looking Ahead
My friends and I are going again this year to see artists like Lorde, King Princess, Katseye, Pierce the Veil, 2hollis, The Dare, Audrey Hobert, and Absolutely. I hope the safety measures this year will be better than last year. I know I have learned to be more careful

The Legacy of Catherine O’Hara

On January 30, 2026, beloved actress and comedian Catherine O’Hara died at the age of 71 after being hospitalized in Los Angeles Officials later confirmed that her death was caused by a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in the lungs, with rectal cancer listed as an underlying cause
O’Hara’s passing marked the end of a remarkable career that lasted more than five decades and left a lasting impact on comedy, film, and television.
Known for her expressive characters and sharp comedic timing, O’Hara became one of the most recognizable character actors of her generation
Early Career and Rise to Fame
Catherine O’Hara was born on March 4, 1954, in Toronto, Canada. She began her career in the 1970s performing in sketch comedy, where she developed the improvisational style that would later define many of her most famous roles. Over time, she transitioned into film and television, demonstrating both comedic and dramatic talent
Her early work helped shape modern comedy, and she earned recognition for her writing and performances, including winning an Emmy Award in 1982 for her contributions to the sketch series SCTV Network 90.
Iconic Roles in Film and Television
Throughout her career, O’Hara starred in numerous films and television shows that became cultural touchstones. She is widely remembered for playing Kevin McCallister’s mother in the holiday classic Home Alone and its sequel, a role that introduced her to generations of young audiences
She also appeared in the cult classic Beetlejuice and several mockumentary-style comedies directed by Christopher Guest, including Best in Show and A Mighty Wind
In recent years, O’Hara experienced a major resurgence in popularity for her performance as the eccentric Moira Rose in the television series Schitt’s Creek Her portrayal earned widespread praise and won her a Primetime Emmy Award in 2020, solidifying her reputation as a master of comedic acting.

The Milano Cortino 2026
Winter Olympics

Every 4 years, the world gathers its greatest athletes together to compete in the Winter Olympics, and as always, the Winter Olympics this year has been captivating and exciting, featuring some of the world’s best athletes In 2026, the Winter Olympics took place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy from February 6 to February 22.
This year, Team USA has had a historic run, winning 12 gold medals, the most it has ever won at a Winter Olympics, winning gold in several key events. Team USA took gold medals in Freestyle skiing, Speed skating, Alpine skiing, Figure skating, Ice hockey, and Bobsleigh
One of the most celebrated achievements for Team USA this year was its Men’s Ice hockey gold, where the US defeated Canada for the gold medal, ending a 46-year drought for the US men’s ice hockey team. On the women’s side, Team USA also prevailed, defeating Canada in the gold medal game. In ice hockey,
Team USA and Team Canada have had a lasting rivalry on both the men’s and women’s side, making these matchups between the US and Canada
among the most intense and exciting in the Olympics
Another prominent competitor for Team USA was Alysa Liu, who won gold in women’s singles figure skating, becoming the first American woman to achieve this feat in 24 years. Additionally, in the realm of speed skating, Jordan Stolz brought home 2 gold medals for his performance in the 500m and 1000m events, as well as setting 2 new Olympic records.
Besides ice hockey, figure skating, and speed skating, Team USA also won gold in skiing, with Alex Ferreira, Elizabeth Lemley, Mikaela Shiffrin, and Breezy Johnson taking home gold medals. Finally, Elana Meyers Taylor won gold in the individual bobsledding event.
However, in addition to Team USA’s outstanding achievements, there were also frustrating moments where promising athletes left the Olympics with disappointment. Ilia Malinin was a gold medal favorite for men’s figure skating. However, due to a series of unexpected falls, Ilia Malinin missed the podium, finishing 8th in his single’s event This was a shocking upset for many, as he was a two-time previous world champion Another shock was the catastrophic crash of American skier Lindsey Vonn seconds after beginning her downhill run. She suffered severe injuries to her leg, resulting in a required airlift from the mountain. Despite the devastating crash, Lindsey Vonn luckily can continue to ski professionally, and is currently recovering from the severe injury.

Team USA’s performance in the 2026 Winter Olympics was amazing, bringing gold medals in many important events. However, there were also shocking upsets and tragic events that athletes have had to go through on Team USA. Competing in the Olympics is not only about winning, but the whole journey taken to get there. So while Team USA’s achievements were impressive, their perseverance is also noteworthy The Olympics remains one of the most important sporting events in the world, bringing together athletes and people from different countries from across the globe, uniting humanity for 2 weeks of exciting competition, dramatic rivalries, and performances from some of the world’s best athletes This event will remain unforgettable, and will remain one of the world’s largest stages for sports for many years to come.

America in Greenland: Is NATO Forever?

Last year, the U.S., under President Trump, began expressing interest in occupying Greenland. Two questions arose: “Does the U S have the right to take over Greenland?” and “Does the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have the power to stop a takeover?”
Greenland is a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. Denmark has controlled Greenland for centuries In 2009, Greenland gained expanded self-rule, giving it more control over its internal affairs, while Denmark continued to manage its foreign policy and defense. A key development was that Greenlanders gained the right to demand independence in the future.
The territory of Greenland itself is occupied by roughly 57,000 people today, many of whom belong to the indigenous Inuit communities The sparsity of its population is due in part to its harsh Arctic climate. However, the country contains features that make it immensely valuable to the United States: natural resources and strategic location. Firstly, Greenland contains deposits of rare earth minerals and other important materials used in modern technology, like electronics, renewable energy technology, and defense equipment. Accessing these resources in Greenland decreases the U S ’s reliance on buying them from other countries, like China. Secondly, Greenland’s location is militarily significant. It lies between North America and Europe, and is close to potential Russian missile routes.
The U.S. and Greenland are currently cooperating through defense agreements. Notably, in 1951, an agreement was signed that allowed the U.S. military to operate on the island under NATO. The U.S. currently has one active military installation in Greenland: Pituffik Space Base (previously known as Thule Air Base) During the Cold War’s peak, it had thousands of U.S. troops, but now it has only about 150 to 200 personnel.
Conflict over Greenland could be so detrimental because Denmark was, in fact, a founding member of NATO. Article 5 of the NATO treaty states one of the organization’s fundamental principles: collective defense; i e an armed attack against one NATO member shall be considered an attack against them all. If the U.S. were to invade Greenland, the legitimacy of the NATO alliance would be severely undermined. Mark Carney, Canadian prime minister and former economist, gave his perspective in his DAVOS address, where he warned that the domination of major world powers will eventually corrode the alliances of the “old”, U S -dominated, rules-based global system Big countries are utilizing global infrastructure, such as trade and supply chains, as political weapons, and countries are shifting towards prioritizing national interests over shared global values through strategic autonomy. As a result, Carney states that it is more important now than ever for middle powers to preserve alliances like NATO that will allow them to protect their sovereignty without becoming dependent on a more powerful nation or being conquered by one.
As the tensions between the U S and Greenland continue to stand, NATO remains at risk, and the question still stands: to what extent can one country intervene in another, and what can the international community do in response? The answer might just define the international order in the decades to come

The Grammy Awards 2026 ceremony provided a compelling look at the current state of the music industry, celebrating chart-topping hits and unique artistic expression. It was a night that celebrated major wins, memorable performances, and, as usual, some debate over who was recognized and who was not.
Major winners of the night include Bad Bunny, who created a historic moment as his album became the first Spanish-language project to win “Album of the Year”. More winners include Billie Eilish and Finneas, who secured “Song of the Year” with the popular hit “Wildflower,” making them one of the most awarded songwriting duos in history Furthermore, Olivia Dean won “Best New Artist”, marking a major breakthrough and Lady Gaga earned the win for “Best Pop Vocal Album” with “Mayhem,” further cementing her legacy These wins highlighted an emotional night and
sparked the usual social media debates over who was truly the best of the year
The 2026 Grammys showcased many spectacular performances that proved nothing beats a live performance when it comes to connecting with an audience The performances of the night included Sabrina Carpenter, who delivered the night’s most ambitious visual, transforming the stage into a literal airport terminal for her hit “Manchild.” Meanwhile, Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean provided a nostalgic surprise Fugees reunion. These performances proved how important it is for artists to not just sound good, but also to create a real moment on stage.
Overall, the 2026 Grammys were a night of both tradition and surprises By balancing the massive success of icons like Taylor Swift with the diversity of newer artists, the show managed to successfully capture the current state of today’s music.

The Future of Iran

The war in Iran has proved a shock for many Americans, as well as for countries across the globe. To understand how the current conflict between the U S and Iran began, it’s important to look at the long-term background they share.
In 1979, the Iranian Revolution transformed Iran into an adversary of the U S , and triggered the start of decades of hostility between the two nations From the 2000s to the 2020s, tensions continued to rise as Iran developed a nuclear program and regional military influence, while the U S placed sanctions on Iran, however diplomacy ultimately proved ineffective. In particular, in 2015, both parties signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA); however, the U.S., at the insistence of President Trump, backed out of said agreements in 2017, worsening relations. Finally, in June of 2025, the U.S. launched its “12-Day War” in Iran, with the U S and Israel striking Iranian nuclear bases the first direct U.S. and Iranian clash, and, unfortunately, proved the first in many to come
Later in 2025, Iran became weakened by sanctions, protests, and prior conflicts. At the same time, the U S increased its military buildup in the Middle East. When, in January of 2026, the Iranian government instigated a violent crackdown that killed thousands of protesters, the U.S. began to suggest the possibility of military intervention
The war officially began on February 28th, 2026, with the U.S. launching “Operation Epic Fury.” There were about 900 airstrikes in the 12 hours that specifically targeted Iranian military and leadership, leading to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during the initial strikes, as well as the deaths of other important Iranian government officials. The U S ’s goal was to both cripple their nuclear program, as well as weaken and reshape Iranian leadership.
From February to March of 2025, Iran struck back through attacking U.S. bases and allies in the Middle East, including attacks on oil infrastructure and shipping routes The Strait of Hormuz a critically important maritime oil chokepoint that carries about 20% to 30% of the world’s daily oil was disrupted, threatening global oil supplies. The regional conflict has spread, with the fighting having expanded to Lebanon and beyond, and with multiple countries having been affected by Iranian strikes
The Future of Iran

As of April 2025, thousands, mostly civilians, have been killed, and infrastructure on both sides has been severely damaged. Air travel in the area has been halted, and global trade has been significantly disrupted. Iranian civilians are faced with widespread destruction of their homes, as well as growing war fatigue and what is beginning to escalate into a humanitarian crisis.
Efforts for a ceasefire have been made In April 2025, the U.S. and Iran held 21-hour highlevel talks; however, no agreement was reached, and disputes over the nuclear program and regional control remain. Iran is currently refusing further talks Thus, the risk of broader regional war remains high
On one hand, Iran hopes to maintain its nuclear abilities and control over its region in the Middle East, and at the moment seems unwilling to compromise on these issues for peace with the U S On the other hand, it now faces a severe economic crisis and internal instability due to the deaths of multiple of its higher officials The U S also would prefer to avoid a long war, and is faced with not only high military and financial costs, but a spike in oil prices, which are contributing to the decrease in popularity of the war in Iran among the American people.
There is no clear end in sight for the war in Iran. As the world is faced with the risks of rising oil prices, the expansion of the war in Iran to other regions, and a future of long-term instability in the Middle East, the future of Iran remains precarious and uncertain

GCHS Puts Its Money to Good Use and Adds Its Second Turf Facility

Beginning in the summer of 2025, the district of Garden City decided to redirect its fund towards the creation of an additional turf for the high school. While there already existed the high school field turf as well as the Community field turf at the Garden City pool, it was decided that expanding the athletic facilities for the high school would better accommodate its male and female athletes. If we take a look at how it benefits all the varsity and JV teams, you begin to see how necessary these turf fields were For the longest time, the varsity football team was forced to play on grass fields that, by the end of the first week, were already completely destroyed The JV sports teams then had to play on grass that was uprooted and uneven with patches of dirt, which obviously made it difficult to play on If you ask any athlete who was forced to play in those conditions, they would indubitably affirm the necessity of the turf field. Considering the importance of the athletic program at Garden City High School, our tax money was used properly
As a GCHS student-athlete and soccer player, I know it may seem that I’m biased and that I would instantaneously be in favor of the addition of a second turf field. Indeed, I do appreciate the fact that we have not only have a rejuvenated turf field but that we now no longer have to commute to Community field (the only other accessible turf field in the vicinity of the high school) as frequently.
However, I am also aware of how the budget could have been redirected to support other aspects of our school, such as the music and art departments, or even the overall functionality of the building. In fact, as an orchestra student, I have spoken firsthand with our orchestra teacher, Mr Albani, about the expansion of our athletic facilities in favor of the music and art departments. He himself told me that he had no problem with the addition of another field because he is fully aware of how important sports are to Garden City High School. However, he qualified his statement by pointing out that we need to have a balance in how we spend our budget: both the athletic and education department should be receiving the same amount of attention and financial support. I myself believe that this is the case, as the Garden City orchestra has been provided with enough money to not only have access to high quality instruments and music, but also to consistently go on excursions to DisneyWorld during the school year. In fact, the orchestra is able to go on field trips almost every year, whether it be to Six Flags or Music in the Parks, to showcase their incredible performances I also think that the immense growth of the orchestra is a testament to the success that the orchestra has been able to receive with the support that the school provides.
Overall, I believe that the orchestra is one of many examples of how well our school district balances the distribution of financial resources to different areas of the school If that were not the case, we wouldn’t have a flourishing music program as well as an incredible athletic program that serve as the foundation for this extraordinary high school.

Finding Passion Through Literature: An Interview with Mrs. Ferraiolo

For over two decades, Mrs. Ferraiolo has been a dedicated member of the Garden City High School staff, building meaningful connections with students while sharing her passion for literature. Since being placed at the school for student teaching in 2004, she has remained a constant presence in the English department, shaping the experiences of countless students.
Mrs Ferraiolo did not originally plan to become an English teacher As a college student, she began as a psychology major, but everything changed when she took literature courses that introduced her to the works of William Shakespeare Through these classes, she discovered a deep appreciation for language and storytelling. Teaching high school students allowed her to combine both of her interests psychology and English by helping teenagers navigate an important and often challenging stage of life.
One of her favorite parts of teaching is the opportunity to connect with students She describes her classroom as a space where she can “put on a show” each day, drawing on her love for theater to make lessons engaging and memorable. However, beyond the performances and lessons, she values the relationships she builds most. Creating a supportive environment is central to her teaching philosophy, as she understands how difficult the high school years can be.
Mrs. Ferraiolo hopes that every student leaves her class not only with stronger reading and writing skills, but also with a greater sense of self. She encourages her students to discover who they are, to feel empowered, and to recognize the importance of compassion. She believes that everyone has their own story, and understanding others is just as important as understanding oneself
Interestingly, English was not always her favorite subject in high school However, certain books left a lasting impression, especially The Great Gatsby Today, her love of reading continues to grow. Some of her favorite books include She’s Come Undone, a longtime favorite, and Demon Copperhead, which she has reread multiple times.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Ferraiolo enjoys a variety of hobbies She loves practicing yoga and Pilates, reading, especially audiobooks, and writing for fun, often journaling in her free time. Her interests reflect the same creativity and curiosity that she brings into her teaching every day.
After 22 years at Garden City High School, Mrs Ferraiolo’s passion for both literature and her students remains as strong as ever While she loves reading, she loves teaching it even more, especially because of the lasting relationships she builds along the way.
Welcoming Ms. Laucella to GCHS

I had the privilege of interviewing Ms Laucella about her experience so far at the high school one year since she has joined the GCHS community as an English teacher. What is your favorite memory from high school so far?
Ms. Laucella responded that her favorite memory has been being part of the spring musicals. Theater has been a huge part of her life since she was a child “It was a huge part of my high school experience,” and she wanted to continue doing it here with her job. In addition, Ms. Laucella has loved working with students in a new setting. This year, she has been particularly impressed by her 9th graders during their summer reading seminars They all came in “so prepared” with the format of the seminar, and were willing to discuss from day one without knowing everyone in the room. Why did you choose to teach English?
Ms. Laucella chose to teach English because she loves storytelling. Literature has the opportunity to explore many different perspectives She fell in love with telling other people’s stories and grew to have an affection for theater arts.
To interpret literature is “so open-ended”, which encourages critical thinking. It inspires students to think about what the text they are reading means to them. English class demands that of its students, and this feature sets it apart from other subjects.
What is your number one bucket list item for this year?
Ms. Laucella’s number one bucket list item was working on the high school’s spring music, Footloose It was Ms Laucella’s first time choreographing at GCHS, and it has been a passion of hers since she was in high school. She was “so excited to bring that to life” with the students Ms Laucella also hopes to see the Literary Circle grow She believes a lot of strong upperclassmen have “set the tone” for this long-standing tenement of the GC community
Through the club’s biannual poetry readings and Writer’s and Reader’s festival, Ms. Laucella has worked hard for the advancement of the group
What was your favorite book when you were in high school?
Hamlet. Shakespeare’s play deals with human nature and decision making, which is a struggle shared by many people. “Hamlet does not make perfect decisions, and there is something very relatable about him.” The reader sees intense emotions, and easily empathizes and sympathizes with the tragic main character. The play is highly symbolic, and Ms. Laucella enjoyed having to dig beneath the surface. For example, since Hamlet is highly male-centered, it becomes important to look deeper into the two female perspectives, and she encourages her students to not take the common interpretation Because the text was so challenging, she soon fell in love with it Macbeth is also a close second, with it being “perfectly imperfect.” What is your favorite book that you are teaching now? Lord of the Flies (but it is hard, she loves Othello too).

Lord of the Flies is the best to teach because the characters are around their age making the text accessible to them. There are themes of the nature of good and evil and younger characters given adult responsibilities The process includes a lot of preactivities to help students gain interest in the story, including survival simulation games, background information on the writer, and a lot of opportunities to talk about other texts and politics
What is the lesson you hope to teach your students while you are at GCHS?
“Always be true to yourself” or as stated in Hamlet, “To thine own self be true ” Academics are important, but it’s more important to be good human beings first, and “knowing what you stand for is very important”, as well as believing in yourself She focuses on characterization in her classes, regardless of what they are teaching, because she doesn’t want her students to simply accept the status quo
“Take every opportunity that comes to you,” including but not limited to academic opportunities. For Ms. Laucella, “the high school experience is about finding out what will keep you in the school after the bell.”
In the end, “it’s ok to get things wrong as long as you learn from them.” All students can get hung up on number grades, but “to be only as good as a number is sad”. It’s important, “very important”, that students realize “they are more than a number”. Every student must be proud and be willing to grow Would you like to shout out to any fellow teachers who have supported you this past year?
Ms. McLaughlin. She was Ms. Laucella’s mentoring teacher, support system, and introduction to school and community. She thinks it is excellent that all new teachers get a mentor, regardless of how long they have taught in the past Ms McLaughlin has become a very good friend to her, and she is very grateful for their collegial and friendly relationship. “The whole school has been super supportive,” with a shout out to the whole English department for helping support her
Are there any other experiences outside teaching English you have engaged in at the high school that have formed happy memories so far? (e.g. clubs, plays, fun events, etc.)
Theater and the Literary Circle. The plays and musicals take up the majority of the time due to long rehearsal hours. During the musical last year, she adjusted costumes and props, and this year she does costumes and props and choreography For Footloose this year, she asked students during the audition if they were willing to try “tricks and other challenging things”, and she was impressed that they all said yes “It has been rewarding to work with students during rehearsals Many didn't think they could do it, so when they do, they are so happy.” In general, dance rehearsals have been fun, including flipping and group work
Ms Laucella is very happy to be here. It has been a “very special opportunity to teach here” and one she is “very grateful for.” She is excited to work here and help use her abilities to support and grow the school academically

The official trailer for the film was recently released, and both critics and longtime fans are eagerly awaiting this addition to the franchise

Based on the popular book series by Suzanne Collins, this movie follows Haymitch Abernathy as he goes through (and wins) the 50th Hunger Games. Oasis Returns: A Reunion That Redefined a Generation

The announcement of Oasis’s 2024 reunion was one of the biggest shocks in the music industry that year After nearly fifteen years apart, the Gallagher brothers finally agreed to return to the stage, with the news arriving just before the thirtieth anniversary of their debut album, Definitely Maybe. The timing proved strategic, as more than 2.2 million people flooded ticket sites upon the announcement. The tour sold out within two days, driven by the reach of modern digital promotion Soon after, classic albums like Be Here Now and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? surged back onto the charts, reinforcing the band’s lasting influence
Hints of a reunion began circulating in early 2023, when Liam Gallagher teased the idea on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Eventually, Noel Gallagher confirmed the possibility, noting that tensions between the brothers had eased over time When the official announcement came in early 2024, many fans found it difficult to believe Given Liam’s wellknown volatility and Noel’s perfectionism, the idea of a reunion had long seemed unlikely However, the overwhelming excitement
surrounding their return quickly restored the band to a level of success reminiscent of their dominance during the Britpop era of the 1990s.
