The mission of GardenChoice (GC) is to provide a more focused and cost-effective way to introduce new innovative ornamental plant genetics to the North American market. GC utilizes an intelligent, extremely selective plant introduction process and works to insure a higher level of finished product quality and fulfillment from the plant breeder to the end grower.
GC is an alliance of four independent companies organized and funded in 2019 as an LLC dba Hort Triad Group: GardenGenetics (Rick Grazzini), Pioneer Gardens (Arjen Vriend), Botanical Trading Co (Ko Klaver), and Eason Horticultural Resources (Jim Eason). GC is not designed to be a profit center. Rather, it is an alliance of stand alone businesses. The intent is to keep GC very lean, with minimal overhead, and to transfer the alliance's business advantages and improved profitability to all of the GC network participants: breeders, propagators, brokers, growers, and retail outlets. The biggest winner in this process is undoubtedly the independent plant breeder! The value of GardenChoice is undoubtedly rooted in the combined strength of our extended network of extremely knowledgeable and talented industry leaders.
GC offers a more efficient, economical, lower overhead process for bringing new genetics into the market. We will improve the licensing stream for independent breeding companies by providing centralized sales and licensing fee accounting for all new plants introduced through the GC supply chain. Breeders will receive a quarterly sales report from each GC network facility. Furthermore, the breeder will receive a quarterly licensing fee payment check for each GC item sold. This provides the breeder with quick, almost real time visibility into the sales of their products, and speeds up the return to the breeder.
The GC alliance will have multiple independent plant breeders as part of the team. To be part of the GC alliance, an independent plant breeder will agree to a common, shared set of professional ethics. The basic idea is that GC affiliated breeders will agree to NOT breed with each other's protected genetics. When GC affiliated breeders do share protected genetics, they will also share the returns on such genetics. This will result in better royalty returns to breeders as well as a better cost structure for GC network participants. GC welcomes the participation of like minded, complementary independent breeding concerns from around the world.
GC provides excellent market intelligence to the independent breeder. Our network consists of some of the top minds in the horticulture industry. Testing product ideas, growing experimental products in real life production, developing cultural crop production protocols, test marketing potential GC products these are processes every independent breeder needs to do, yet cannot do alone. GC as an alliance provides those resources, and allows GC to keep our breeders one step ahead of the competition.
GC’s network of professionals is made up of the highest quality horticultural companies from all over the world. Integrity, professionalism, and trust are the principles that GC and all of its network partners bring to the grower trade in North America.
GC provides one of the most reliable supply chain networks available in the trade. This ensures that both breeders and growers receive the highest level of product sales, fulfillment, and quality. Our supply chain network partners are:

The result is maximized distribution and exposure. GC also looks to participate directly with non traditional segments of the market such as online e commerce sellers.
GC provides excellent market intelligence to its network growers. Our network consists of the top minds in the industry with years of senior experience at the ready. This allows GC to keep our growers one step ahead of the rest of the crowd trying to introduce innovative genetics.
GC employs a rigorous selection, testing, and vetting process through our extensive experienced network. New introductions are not “rushed to market”. This results in higher quality, better positioned plant selections and more reliable product fulfillment for both growers and consumers.
GC is a lean, independent group that offers a refreshing, efficient alternative to the large providers of new plant genetics. By minimizing overhead costs and by streamlining operations and communications, GC provides all participants with more cost efficient market pricing for its new genetics.

GreatMyrtles have outstanding vigor making them an excellent choice for temperate & tropical growers. The stems are strong and hold the flowers nicely above the plant and will always become bushier with some hand pruning to even up the plant body. Adequate watering and fertilization will ensure that the plant stays healthy and continues to set flower buds throughout the season for more buds and blooms.

"How much will it cost me?"
Less than you might think. GC is not designed to be a profit center or an overly expensive marketing entity. Rather we are an efficient alliance of equals whose goal is to maximize return of dollars to the breeder and improve the businesses of all of our network partners and their customers.
"My growers do not like separate royalties on invoices”
Neither do we! For any of your products which launch through GC, there will be one fixed price to the grower. GC handles all of the “back office” administration of royalty related business and provides you with the maximum royalty return by utilizing an extremely efficient process.
"What
Any grower producing GC introductions will certainly need picture tags. GC has lined up the major label producers to maintain a tag and label inventory of any GC product going to market. If you choose GC to introduce one of your products, we may need to ask for your help with the earliest label images. A GC picture tag is required and is something a grower (or broker) can purchase directly from the label vendor. GC network partner rooting stations will often provide GC approved picture tags with each shipment. GC will provide the manufacturer with designs and images; the GC plant wholesale/retail grower will purchase the tags or labels as part of each URC, rooted liner, or BR order. GC does NOT intend to require any kind of “branded” pot for GC items.
"GC employs a rigorous selection, testing, and vetting process through our extensive experienced network. New introductions are not “rushed to market”. This results in higher quality, better positioned plant selections and more reliable product fulfillment for both growers and consumers."

“A newcomer to the Trial Gardens this year is Garden Choice and they have delivered one of the biggest pops in the garden for 2020.
Rudbeckia ‘MiniBeckia™ Flame’ with ease pulled visitors to the garden over to its plot so that everybody could warm by the ‘flame’.
Rudbeckia’s tend to be an annual here in the Southeast so I don’t put this in the perennial category, but I am fine with this as an annual. It has been in bloom for 2 months and is still throwing color around the garden.

“Everyone loves a crepe myrtle, but have you seen GreatMyrtles™? These darling shrubs can be contained in planters and function as foundation plantings around the house wherever the sun is plentiful. So give them a chance they will show you a whole new reason to love your old favorite plant. The GreatMyrtle™ is a genuine mini and can be cut back to the ground each year to produce a lush and compact flowering shrub the following season. They will compliment or provide an alternative to a fussy rose garden or hot sunny slope with less maintenance for the landscaper. “
