"I inherited a passion for embroidered clothing in my own family, being inspired since childhood by the aesthetics and power of traditional Ukrainian ornaments.
For us, ethnic clothing was considered formal and was worn very rarely. And when it was taken out of the closet, it meant there was a big celebration in the house.
I want to feel celebration every day, that's why our embroidered shirts can be worn without any special occasion."

CHERNIVTSI REGION
Smooth embroidery with cross-stitch in geometric designs combined with nature: birds, flowers, sun, and moon.
ODESA REGION
Embroidered with rhombuses, squares, and lines that symbolized natural forces. The pattern was one-sided or had three rows.
CHERKASY REGION
Small stitches created a complex geometric pattern - most likely it was the tree of life.
KHARKIV REGION
Embroidered with thick thread, making the ornament gain volume and relief. The dominant motif is the tree of life.
KHMELNYTSKYI REGION
Transformed geometric elements into simple straight, oblique, straighttoothed, and strictly geometric lines.
VINNYTSIA REGION
Basic geometric patterns and symbols; traditional for this region were schematic birds.
POLTAVA REGION
Embroidered with flat, straight stitches and geometric ornaments, combined with plant elements.
KYIV REGION

Borshchiv "yazyk" - ancient decoration from a bizor (has many colorful commas similar to Indian ones).

The "Rozmai" dress is styled after perepynka or zapaska (traditional Ukrainian wraparound skirt): traditionally, this garment element is worn as a second layer over a shirt or plakhta, but in Gaptuvalnya's interpretation, it's a complete look.

Myco-leather – a material made from fungal mycelium that forms strong, lightweight and flexible network structures that replace animal leather in their properties.
The black myco-leather base of the jacket resembles the bark of forest trees, while the sewn-on elements reflect those very landmarks of our ancestors – the “vikhy”.
