BELIEVE in your potential

There is a world of possibilities at Gannon University—the possibilities that are within you. You’ll learn here, form lifelong friendships here and grow here, because at Gannon, it’s within your reach. You’ll see things, learn things and experience things that you never thought were possible. It’s what happens when you believe. 1

INSPIRING academic success

The interactions you have with your professors will be among your most important experiences at Gannon. We take the student-faculty ratio seriously and feel that a strong education stems from your professors getting to know you. We believe students learn best when faculty love teaching and are supported by their active research. Our faculty are experts in their field and are here to inspire you to question, learn, believe and achieve. What’s Possible? You Name it! Think about what you love to study, or where you imagine yourself working, or what you want to accomplish in the future. It’s possible at Gannon. We offer 59 bachelor’s degrees and 36 minors. Each of
our majors includes opportunities to work and learn in professional settings.

Students and Professors

50 ANJALI SAHAY, PH.D., Faculty “One of the best ways to become global citizens is through roleplaying and simulation, and that’s a big part of Model U.N., where you can learn global issues while you’re right here on campus. Participating in Model U.N. is an intensive learning experience in planning, budgeting, leadership, speaking and debating skills.” 2

Have you ever had a teacher who changed the course of your life? Such teachers are here at Gannon University. With a low 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, Gannon is a place where your professors’ first priority is your success. Don’t be surprised when your professors stop and chat with you in the hallways or remember you long after you’ve taken their classes. Gannon professors get to know you, learn about your goals, your accomplishments and your struggles. You’ll feel comfortable contributing to class discussions, speaking with your professors after class and working with them as you plan your career.

Researching Side by Side How far can your research project at Gannon go? Maybe into the pages of a national, peer-reviewed professional journal, or 30 feet below the surface of the Caribbean Sea as you observe marine organisms and coral reefs. Your research might take you 4,000 years into the past at Gannon’s Bronze Age archaeological dig in Jordan. You don’t even have to leave campus to do groundbreaking biomedical research using motion-capture technology in Gannon’s new Human Performance Laboratory. At Gannon, your professors enjoy learning right beside you, working with you to advance your knowledge in your chosen field.

Through the Barker Globalization Institute, you can choose different study abroad programs in over 15 countries, with more in development every semester. Choose from semester exchange programs at partnering universities, faculty-led study trips, service-learning opportunities and more. Alternative Break Service Trips (ABST)

Semester Exchange Programs

ABSTs give students the chance to encounter and respond to some of the most pressing societal and global concerns of our time. Each trip is built on the foundation of service, simplicity, community and reflection. Travel occurs over spring break or after classes end in May.

Gannon students may travel abroad for a semester to select institutions in Australia, Chile, England, Germany, Ireland, Italy or Jordan.

Gannon: Inspired Faculty-led Travel (GIFT) Students have the opportunity to take Liberal Studies Core or major/minor requirement/elective courses that include international or domestic travel components. Led by Gannon faculty, these courses last one to four weeks and travel during fall break, winter break, spring break and the summer. Students who participate in a faculty-led program may apply for a Learning Abroad scholarship.

Transforming Residents Abroad Via Engaged Learning (T.R.A.V.E.L.) Gannon juniors and seniors engage in small groups with two staff/faculty facilitators on a regular basis throughout the academic year to study topics and learn about an international destination before traveling together to that destination at the end of the year.
