I-HACK BUILDS MOMENTUM

Extreme Networks, a leading provider of network infrastructure equipment and services for enterprises, data centers and service providers around the globe, is the first company to be housed within Gannon’s I-HACK facility in Knight Tower. This partnership will elevate the delivery of the university’s cyber programs, bring new professional training opportunities to the region, and equip I-HACK with state-of-theart networking technology.

I-HACK’S RENOVATIONS ARE UNDERWAY

Interior demolition of the first through sixth floors began in October. Construction to the first and second floor academic learning and laboratory spaces are expected to be complete in Fall 2020. Renovations of the entire building are expected to be complete in Spring 2022.

DEDICATING OUR STATUARY

Gannon University celebrated the dedication and blessing of our statuary of Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette in the courtyard of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences on Nov. 19, 2019.

GANNON PURCHASES RCWE BUILDING

Gannon announced in Center for Workforce Excellence building and the adjoining 114-space parking garage in downtown Erie. This purchase will accommodate growth in student enrollment as the building will be transformed into apartment-style housing for 80 to 100 students. Renovation and repairs to the parking ramp will begin this spring, with completion planned for this fall. Renovations to the building are planned to be complete by Fall 2021.

RENOVATIONS OF MARY, SEAT OF WISDOM CHAPEL UNDERWAY

Renovations to the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel are nearing completion, thanks in large part to a lead gift by Monsignor Robert L. Brugger. The generous lead gift sparked a campaign to complete renovations to the chapel with a total projected cost of $1.5 million to $2 million.

NCAA EMERGING SPORT PROGRAM TO INCLUDE TWO GANNON SPORTS

A pair of sports sponsored by Gannon heard some great news at February’s NCAA Convention, as both acrobatics and tumbling and women’s wrestling were approved to enter the NCAA Emerging Sports for Women program in both Division II and Division III. The program supports the advancement of women’s sports to championship status. The sports will officially join the Emerging Sport program on Aug. 1, 2020.

GANNON TAKES MAROON AND GOLD ON THE ROAD

Gannon revealed its first-ever branded team bus during a roll-out on Jan. 17, 2020 at the Erie campus’ iconic arch. This 48-foot, 57-seat bus makes a bold statement that the Golden Knights have arrived when transporting student-athletes to the campuses of opponent athletic teams.
