CULTURAL DISSENT: ART AND DEMOCRACY
The morning begins with a youth art workshop (ages 6 – 12) facilitated by The Black School, where students explore themes of fairness, justice, and civic courage through hands-on creative activities. The afternoon program features a conversation on cultural dissent guided by artist and professor Ron Bechet. The panel will include local artists Ayo Scott, Joseph Cuillier, and Carl LeBlanc, along with participating students. Together, they will discuss how artists and communities use creativity to challenge dominant narratives and imagine more just futures.
