COMMUNITY PARK LOCATIONS

Monterey Park has 2 well-maintained, gated dog parks with obstacle courses, training features and drinking fountains.

COMMUNITY PARK AMENITIES

From neighborhood playgrounds to community gathering spaces, our parks provide families with opportunities to connect, play, and relax with family and friends.

ENHANCING PARKS AND LANDSCAPES

Stockton Boulevard Completed

Location: Stockton Boulevard near Walnut Avenue

Plan Overview:

This design emphasizes drought-tolerant landscaping to reduce water use and minimize the need for maintenance. Existing turf will be removed and replaced with climate appropriate plants that require minimal irrigation. Groundcover will help retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and improve soil health.

Key Accomplishments:

Turf was removed and replaced with climate appropriate plants for minimal irrigation. All new planting areas were supported by a drip irrigation system that delivers water directly to plant roots, minimizing waste and runoff. This approach has reduced the need for frequent watering, mowing, and trimming while creating a cleaner, greener appearance along

“Summer is one of the best times to enjoy everything our parks have to offer. Whether it’s spending time outdoors with family and friends, attending community events, or simply taking in the natural beauty around us, our parks provide spaces for relaxation, recreation, and connection. We encourage everyone to get outside this season and make lasting memories in our parks.”

Measure Q

Walker Community Park Phase 2A Project

The Walker Community Park Phase 2A Project has been awarded and is moving toward construction. This Measure Q funded project will add three new youth baseball fields that can also support certain softball programs, expanded parking, restroom facilities, concessions, lighting, and other park improvements. The project will expand recreational opportunities for Galt families and support the growing demand for youth sports in the community.

Chabolla Skate Park Expansion Project

The Chabolla Skate Park Expansion Project is expected to go out to bid in the coming months. This Measure Q funded project will approximately double the size of the existing skate park and add new features designed for skaters of varying skill levels. The expansion will provide more space, improved amenities, and enhanced opportunities for the skateboarding community.

To see full conceptual plans of either of these locations visit the Measure Q webpage at www.cityofgalt.org/measureq

Measure Q is helping invest local tax dollars back into the community to improve the places where Galt residents live, work, and play.
