The Yoder family in the “Listening Garden” at the entrance of Miyamura High School where a plaque has been placed in his memory. John 3:16 E veryone was drawn to Steven because of his large smile, gracious spirit and his love for Christ that shown all around him. He would often give great advice to people who asked and a common response from him would be, “Get your bible and read the red letters.” Here are some thoughts that were shared on FB and other social media about how special Steven was to so many.. Deidre Richardson He was the same, everywhere you saw him. In a changing world that’s spinning out of control, Steven was firm in his faith, his relationship with his Lord, and firm in his character. And when you saw him, the word “love” was always at the forefront of your mind. Kurt Cusac Someone who could make you cry from laughing so hard but also sit with you and invest so much into your life because he cared so much. Nick Salazar Steven Yoder was more than just my youth Pastor. He was my friend, role model, and mentor. He always managed to bring me out of my comfort zone, and teach me many things about being a follower of Christ and a leader to others. He challenged and encouraged me to grow as a musician, a student, and in my walk with Christ. He inspired me to pursue ministry and to serve the youth. Madison Sutliff You taught me so much about life and loving the Lord. I grew up looking to you for guidance and comfort when I felt lost, abandoned, and unlovable. You never made me feel unworthy of your time. We cried together in sorrows and laughed together in celebration. Hope Cooper I loved going to school because of you. Looking forward to going to your class, seeing you in the halls..Always so happy, you loved your students, all of us. Even on my worst days you loved me and never gave up on me. Jason Bryant Steve invested in people on a personal level and truly cared for them. It made him happy to see others succeed. He was the epitome of selflessness. Yet, I feel confident in saying that Steve would also tell everyone not to strive to be like him. He would stress to everyone that all of the greatest qualities that we see in him have nothing to do with anything he has done on his own but everything to do with what Jesus has done.
