ABOUT DIGITAL PROGRAMS

The Gallo Center has adopted the use of digital programs meant to be viewed on cell phones or other computer devices. This change has important public health, environmental and economic benefits: reducing close contacts between patrons and ushers, cutting our use of paper, and eliminating substantial printing costs. View the program only before shows begin or during intermissions. Please be considerate of other patrons and artists on stage by not viewing it during performances. Patrons who do not observe this courtesy and create distractions may be asked to leave. Thank you!

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

The Gallo Center for the Arts is a non-profit performing arts center with a deep commitment to enriching the people and communities of California’s vast San Joaquin Valley. From the scintillating performances of its wonderful resident companies, to the great variety of world-class entertainment presented by the Center each season, to robust arts education programs for the region’s youth, this is where the magic happens.

From the beginning, the Center’s mission has been clearly defined: to provide an inspirational civic gathering place where regional, national, and international cultural activities illuminate, educate, and entertain. Since revenue from ticket sales and facility rentals only covers a portion of the costs associated with fulfilling this mission, the Center is dependent on the generous annual financial support from donors and program sponsors within our community.

THE EVERLY BROTHERS EXPERIENCE

FEATURING THE ZMED BROTHERS

THE EVERLY BROTHERS EXPERIENCE

FEATURING THE ZMED BROTHERS

“Long live the music and long live the history!” That is the spirited motto that inspired The Zmed Brothers and The Bird Dogs Band to produce The Everly Brothers Experience back in 2015. Don & Phil Everly’s illustrious career lasted over half a century (1951-2005), they recorded 21 studio albums, sold more than 60 million records worldwide, had over 30 billboard top -100 singles, which still to this day is the record for most billboard charting hits of any sibling Country/Rock Duo ever. From 19571962 they dominated record sales and radio waves with hits like, “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” “All I Have To Do Is Dream,” and “Love Hurts,” “Cathy’s Clown,” “When Will I Be Loved?” + many more. In their later career, The Everly Brothers received numerous prestigious accolades and countless legendary artists of the 60’s and 70’s cite them as one of their main influences. A list that includes: The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Bee Gees, Crosby Stills and Nash.. and pretty much anyone else who sang harmony after them… including Zach & Dylan (The Zmed Brothers).

In 2012, The Zmed Brothers began performing seriously as a duo singing originals and close harmony standards from the 50’s & 60’s. They gained a strong local following, cutting their teeth in a multitude of professional settings in the greater Los Angeles area where they

were born and raised. During this time they developed transformative mentorships with music industry titans like engineer/producer team Richie Podolor & Bill Cooper, hit songwriter Billy Steinberg, and talent agent Rich Rees - who all fundamentally helped Zach & Dylan recognize the legacy in their sound and actualize their potential. In 2015, after partnering up with drummer Burleigh Drummond Jr. and assembling a handful of ‘A-Team’ musician friends of theirs, The Zmed Brothers created The Everly Brothers Experience. Through immersive research and years of extensive international touring, this hit show has arguably become the World’s foremost tribute to the music and history of the greatest sibling Country/Rock Duo of all time.

Why The Everly Brothers you might be asking? The Zmed Brothers share that, “Even though we are 80’s babies, 50’s and 60’s music is deeply nostalgic for us because our parents raised us on it. As a brother duo, we have always been drawn to The Everly Brothers sound. The more we learned about their ubiquitous influence, we felt that folks, especially in our generation, seem to completely overlook Don and Phil’s monumental contribution to Rock & Roll. We knew from the get-go that we would NOT be impersonators. Our aim has always been to do our best at keeping their brotherly legacy alive through our own spirits. We continually strive to represent the aesthetics of their iconic sound, to explore the important role they played in pioneering the Rock & Roll

movement, and also to share our own personal story along the way.”

The Zmed Brothers mutual passion for music, history, and sharing the stage was fostered at an early age by their parents. Their mother, Barbara (2nd grade teacher of 30+ years) is responsible for booking Zach & Dylan’s very first gigs where they presented music & history lessons for her 2nd grade students (tough crowd). Their father, Adrian Zmed made his living as an actor/singer/ dancer. Whether he was doing Hollywood Film & Television (Grease 2, Bachelor Party, T.J. Hooker) or touring in both on & off Broadway Musicals (Blood Brothers, Grease, Chicago, Evita, Little Shop Of Horrors) Zach & Dylan would join him every summer, where they got to experience the thrilling life of a traveling entertainer and developed their love for live performance.

These days The Zmed Brothers live in Nashville Tennessee’s big backyard where they have wives and kids of their own. Over the many years that The Zmed Brothers have been earning their stripes on stage, their devout mission to carry on the deeply rooted tradition of “Close Harmony” in American Music has grown tenfold. With their beloved brand of seasoned blood harmony, tight musicianship, and hilarious “Smothers Brothers” esq. banter, The Zmed Brothers and The Bird Dogs Band always deliver on their spirited motto in this one of a kind authentic Everly Brothers experience. “Long live the music and long live the history!”
