The Gallo Center has adopted the use of digital programs meant to be viewed on cell phones or other computer devices. This change has important public health, environmental and economic benefits: reducing close contacts between patrons and ushers, cutting our use of paper, and eliminating substantial printing costs. View the program only before shows begin or during intermissions. Please be considerate of other patrons and artists on stage by not viewing it during performances. Patrons who do not observe this courtesy and create distractions may be asked to leave. Thank you!
The Gallo Center for the Arts is a non-profit performing arts center with a deep commitment to enriching the people and communities of California’s vast San Joaquin Valley. From the scintillating performances of its wonderful resident companies, to the great variety of world-class entertainment presented by the Center each season, to robust arts education programs for the region’s youth, this is where the magic happens.
From the beginning, the Center’s mission has been clearly defined: to provide an inspirational civic gathering place where regional, national, and international cultural activities illuminate, educate, and entertain. Since revenue from ticket sales and facility rentals only covers a portion of the costs associated with fulfilling this mission, the Center is dependent on the generous annual financial support from donors and program sponsors within our community.

MARCH 7 - 9, 2025
PRESENTED BY
By Marc Camoletti
What a joy to get the chance to work on this delightfully funny and silly show! I often find myself drawn to plays that explore the darker side of the human experience— sometimes ugly, often raw, and always a little gritty. Then there are plays like this! This is a high-energy, mistaken identity, doors slamming, girlkissing romp of classic French farce. Written by French playwright Marc Camoletti and first performed in 1962, Boeing Boeing was then dusted off and rebooted for us modern audiences in the 2000s. Still set in the stylish and swinging early sixties, the revived script wisely kept the sexy and turned the sexist premise on its ear. The three “air hostesses,” understand the gender games of their time and deftly play them to their advantage. They work in the cabin, but show no fear in taking the controls when needed. Add into the mix two young schemers who inevitably lose control of the situation plus a sarcastic French maid who is just as quick in doling out philosophy as she is with a snarky quip, and you are ready to take flight! The creative team has done amazing work to create a very fun and hip world for the actors to play in. We have assembled a stellar cast whose talent and energy kept me in stitches throughout the entire process. Please sit back, buckle up, and enjoy!

Noah Thompson (Bernard) is excited to be in his first show at GCRC. He last appeared in The Shark Is Broken at Prospect Theater Project. He would like to thank everyone involved in this production for their hard work and dedication.
Sarah Wiseman (Gloria) is thrilled to be making her GCRC debut! Some of Sarah’s favorite acting credits include: Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire at MJC, Abby in Now and Then at Prospect Theatre Project, Mrs. White in Clue at MJC and Darlene in Balm in Gilead at CSU Stanislaus. When not onstage, Sarah can be found snuggling with her dogs and watching reruns of The Office with her husband.
Lea Volk Binda (Berthe) was born and raised in Turlock and returned home in 2020 after living in San Francisco for 11 years, pursuing her dreams and broadening her horizons. After a hiatus in theater acting, Lea is honored and thrilled to be cast in her second GCRC show this season after appearing in 1984 this past fall. She thanks her husband, family, and friends for their continued support in all her pursuits.
Luke Gonzales (Robert) graduated from Stan State with his degree in Theatre Arts with a focus in acting. An avid nerd from an early age, Luke fell in love with comics and video games then later found theatre as a medium to continue his love of interactive story telling. His previous stage credits include George in Of Mice and Men, Mac the Knife in The Threepenny Opera, and Richard Dreyfuss in The Shark is Broken. He is extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity to be in his first production with GCRC. He thanks you for being a patron of the arts and hopes you enjoy the show!
Deanna Hudgens (Gretchen) is delighted to be returning to the GCRC stage in Boeing Boeing. A Modesto native, Deanna received a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Azusa Pacific University and proceeded to cut her teeth in the acting biz in LA. She then trekked across the country to earn an M.F.A. in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Recent stage credits include: The Lifespan of a Fact (PTP), 12 Angry Jurors (GCRC), and Men On Boats. Film/TV credits: Saturday’s Lament (short), Parked (Amazon Prime), and Fear, Love, and Agoraphobia. Deanna is thankful for the unwavering support of her family and friends. She is also grateful to you, dear patron, for supporting live theatre.
Molly Souza (Gabriella) Last seen on the Gallo stages in Prospect Theater Project’s productions of Tartuffe and Pygmalion, Molly is a longtime contributor to theater in Northern California. After writing and acting in several gruesome films throughout the Southeast (sorry mom), Molly is happy to return to the stage in such a scintillating and silly farce.
Traci Sprague (Director) Traci Sprague has directed and performed locally at Prospect Theater Project, Center Stage Conservatory, Stage 3, Merced Shakespearefest, Murphy’s Creek Theater, Playhouse Merced, Phoenix Collective, and Shakespeare on the Vine. She earned her BA in Drama from CSU Stanislaus, studied crafting political theatre with San Francisco Mime Troupe, Viewpoints with Alexandra Billings, and Improv with Sills/Spolin Theaterworks. She led several workshops at Opera Modesto and Stanislaus County schools including using theatre to teach creativity in the classroom at the County of Education Arts Symposium. Traci Sprague served as the Artistic Director for Center Stage Conservatory located in downtown Modesto where she developed a teen summer theatre conservatory in classical theatre. Some of her favorite experiences directing include The Aliens, all-female Julius Caesar, Dry Land, The Wolves, and Mother of the Maid. Traci has spent the last few handful of years focusing on shows that empower lgbtq+ voices and women.
River Hawk (Assistant Director/Composer) is a musician and composer who has spent most of the last two decades in or around theatre. Though he has appeared onstage twice in the last five years, most of his contribution has been from behind the scenes as a sound designer and engineer. After studying Jazz for saxophone and subsequently completing his Master’s degree in Afro-Latin music, River has created scores heard in Prospect Theater Project’s productions of Sight Unseen in 2023, and Frost/Nixon the following year. Outside of live productions, River has contributed to the Penny Bloods Podcast as both a voice actor and media composer. He currently works part-time providing private music instruction and writing articles about current affairs in ice hockey.
Jewel Whitaker (Stage Manager) has stage managed a variety of GCRC productions, including All is Calm, On Golden Pond, To Kill a Mockingbird, Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, Born Yesterday, and 1984. She also stage managed and co-directed (along with Jim Johnson and Wes Page) Twisted Tales of Edgar Allan Poe. An active part of Modesto’s performing arts community, Jewel has performed with Prospect Theater Projects’ Radio Cavalcade since its inception, Center Stage Conservatory in 2019, and Opera Modesto in their 2022 World Concert. She is the Special Programming and Events Manager for the Gallo Center for the Arts, overseeing all Rentals and Resident Companies and their partnerships with the center.

Originally from Denver, CO, Ryan graduated from the University of Michigan Musical Theatre program and studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney, Australia. His early theatrical career was spent in New York City, appearing onstage in numerous national/ international tours and regional productions across America, Australia, and Asia, including performances at Radio City Music Hall and the New York International Fringe Festival. Some of his favorite directing credits include Bat Boy: The Musical, Reefer Madness, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Ryan’s theatrical experience extends beyond the stage, with work in company management, Broadway marketing, and theatrical design and production. He is currently working to promote diversity and equity in the theatre industry through his web design and consulting work with MAESTRA, MUSE, and RISE, organizations which help create pathways toward employment for marginalized groups in the theatre community. As a passionate local community member, Ryan is also a founder of the Modesto Children’s Museum, and serves on the Stanislaus Art Council board.
Noelle Souza (Costume Designer) is excited to be back working with GCRC! Marc Camoletti (Author) authored more than 40 plays and became a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in France. Boeing Boeing, his first major international success, ran for seven years and 2000 performances in its debut London production. It became the Guinness Book of Records’ most performed French play worldwide. The Paramount film starred Jerry Lewis, Tony Curtis and Thelma Ritter.
A later play, Don’t Dress for Dinner, also ran for seven years in London’s West End. A French citizen, born in Geneva, and an acclaimed artist and associate of the Société National des Beaux Arts, Marc Camoletti launched his theatre career with three plays running simultaneously in Paris. Ten of his plays have also been produced for television. His work continues to flourish in numerous languages and some 55 countries.
Beverley Cross (Translator) achieved instant success in 1959 with One More River, starring Sir Michael Caine and directed by Laurence Olivier. His second play, Strip the Willow, made his future wife, Dame Maggie Smith, a star. Among his other successes were the musical comedy Half a Sixpence (1963), based on HG Wells’ book Kipps, and his screenplay of Jason and the Argonauts.
