ABOUT DIGITAL PROGRAMS

The Gallo Center has adopted the use of digital programs meant to be viewed on cell phones or other computer devices. This change has important public health, environmental and economic benefits: reducing close contacts between patrons and ushers, cutting our use of paper, and eliminating substantial printing costs. View the program only before shows begin or during intermissions. Please be considerate of other patrons and artists on stage by not viewing it during performances. Patrons who do not observe this courtesy and create distractions may be asked to leave. Thank you!

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

The Gallo Center for the Arts is a non-profit performing arts center with a deep commitment to enriching the people and communities of California’s vast San Joaquin Valley. From the scintillating performances of its wonderful resident companies, to the great variety of world-class entertainment presented by the Center each season, to robust arts education programs for the region’s youth, this is where the magic happens.

From the beginning, the Center’s mission has been clearly defined: to provide an inspirational civic gathering place where regional, national, and international cultural activities illuminate, educate, and entertain. Since revenue from ticket sales and facility rentals only covers a portion of the costs associated with fulfilling this mission, the Center is dependent on the generous annual financial support from donors and program sponsors within our community.

NICK CARTER

NICK CARTER BIO

Sparking his career at the age of 12, Nick Carter quickly became an international pop superstar as the youngest member of the iconic boy band, Backstreet Boys. With his boyish good looks and heartthrob status, Carter’s 30-year entertainment journey has extended far beyond sold-out arenas, encompassing a diverse range of projects in television, film, philanthropy, and publishing.

The Backstreet Boys hold the distinction of being the best-selling boy band in history and rank among the world’s top-selling music artists of alltime. The group solidified one of the largestrecord deals ever, signing a $60 million deal with Jive Records in 1999. Since taking the world by storm in 1995, the band has sold over 130 million records worldwide and has earned five Grammy nominations and countless Billboard Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, RIAA Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and an honorary star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. To date, the Backstreet Boys have toured around the globe several times over, released ten studio albums and have broken several records, including the U.S. record for most albums sold in one year, selling over 11 million copies of their third studio album, Millennium, in 1999.

In 2002, Carter ventured into a solo career with his debut album, Now or Never, released under Jive Records. It debuted impressively at #17 on the Billboard 200 chart and received Gold certification in the United States, Japan, and Canada. This marked the beginning of a successful solo journey, complementing his fame as a member of the Backstreet Boys. Since then, Carter has released two additional solo albums I’m Taking Off in 2012 followed by All American in 2016. Notably,

his 2023 single “Hurts to Love You” became his most successful track, charting in seven different countries, topping the charts in the United States and charting number one in Canada.

In 2004, Carter made his foray into the world of film and television, starring in the remake of the classic horror film “Sleepy Hollow” called “The Hollow.” Carter further showcased his acting skills through various film appearances on TV shows such as the CW Network’s revived series “90210.” In 2014, Carter and his now wife, Lauren Kitt, made their reality TV debut as a couple on the VH1 series “I Heart Nick Carter.” Furthermore, he participated in season four of Fox’s hit show, “The Masked Singer,” as well as the 21st season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” making it to the finals on both series.

During his time on “Dancing with the Stars,” Nick and Lauren announced that they were expecting their first child together. On April 19, 2016, they joyfully welcomed their son, Odin. The family expanded further with the arrival of their daughter Saoirse on October 2, 2019, and their youngest daughter, Pearl, on April 21, 2021.

In 2023, Carter wrapped another massive tour with the Backstreet Boys, “The DNA World Tour”, before embarking on his first solo tour in seven years, the international “Who I Am” tour, which kicked off in the U.S. in October and followed the release of three new solo singles, “Superman,” “Made For Us,” and “Never Break My Heart (Not Again).” The “Who I Am” tour will continue through 2024, reaching territories in South America, Asia, Canada, and the United States. Carter will join the Backstreet Boys for the band’s “Backstreet’s Back at the Beach Cancun” concert series in April 2024.

O-TOWN BIO

O-Town’s story began in 1999, when TV network, ABC, produced the very first musical reality show in major network history. “Making the Band” was produced in conjunction with Lou Pearlman, creator of both the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC . The show chronicled the creation, development, and rise to success of O-Town throughout three seasons of the series; the first two on ABC and the final season on MTV. The group became the first to be signed by Clive Davis to his label, J Records, and released two full-length albums, which included #1 singles, “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing”. The latter of which was nominated for “Song of the Year” at the Radio Music Awards in 2001.

By 2003, O-Town found themselves amidst an industry that was beginning to experience dramatic changes, former mentor, Lou Pearlman’s, legal battles and eventual conviction regarding embezzlement of more than $300 million, as well as a complex contract that left the group in dire financial strain. “We really had little choice but to close up shop at that point”, Jacob explains. “We learned so much during those 4 years, but it was obvious the time had come to walk away, hoping we could do it again one day, differently”.

Reunited in 2014 as a four-piece, following the departure of member, Ashley Parker Angel, band members Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick, Dan Miller and Erik-Michael Estrada, released their third studio album, “Lines & Circles”, and set out on a national tour for the first time in 10 years in support of the album. They spent the summer of 2016 on the MY2K Tour, with artists 98 Degrees,

Ryan Cabrera, and Dream. They also performed alongside the likes of New Kids on The Block, Boyz ll Men and Paula Abdul for the 5th Mixtape Festival, held in July 2016 in Hershey, PA. Additionally, the group made their acting debut starring in Backstreet Boy member, Nick Carter’s cult film, “Dead 7”, amongst members of all of the generation’s biggest boy bands, which was premiered on the Sy-Fy channel.

After touring for the last three years and realizing the incredible support of their loyal fans, it seemed clear to the band that they could produce their fourth album free of any label, and could rely solely on their fans for funding. In October 2016, the group launched a Kickstarter campaign to do just that. The campaign was so incredibly successful that they met their initial goal of $47,500 within the first 7 hours. At the end of the 30 day campaign, they nearly doubled that goal, proving their loyal fan base will continue to support the group as they pursue new musical endeavors.

O-Town is now preparing to release their fourth studio album, which will be split into 2 EPs. The first single, “Empty Space” will premiere in April 2017 on Yahoo! Music and the exclusive performance will be at iHeartMedia on April 17th during their 3 day NYC press junket. The group will then head out on a series of tour dates throughout the summer.
